    Maple pecan croissant
    Darren G.

Considered trying this place for while since I heard good stuff and wanted see for myself. I really wanted a ham croissant sandwich since the pics on here look amazing, but sadly they ran out of ham. So a bagel with cream cheese was my second go to, the bagel was just right, toasted not burnt, and not too much cream cheese. The maple pecan croissant was very good, flaky crust, smooth soft filling and I do love the shine all there pastries I noticed they have. Also appreciated they have a basket of day old stuff for half off, so they don't waste. Will have try here again and get that ham croissant next time

YES!! Coffee ice cubes!! Aluminum cup keeps it colder longer. Every detail thought of...

This place is a real gem...perfect location, walkable and convenient. Fast and fresh, I got a tray full of breakfast sandwiches for the whole office and everyone loved them! I got myself a cold brew and normally when I go to Dunkin or Starbucks I have to order it without ice to keep it pure. Pleasantly surprised to find out Village Grind has coffee ice cubes, such a good idea and in the coolest aluminum cups, frosty for hours! Gonna make this part of my morning routine for sure...give them a try, you'll be glad you did!

My husband and I loved meeting Kate and Kevin, the owners! Great people with awesome attitudes and delicious coffee! I loved the coffee cubes in my iced Americano and my husband loved his Cortado! Thanks for such a fun experience!

I love the food! Your employees have amazing customer service. And the Ambiance in this place is amazing!

Cold brew to go in these cool aluminum cups. Ice cube is made of coffee, so it doesn't get watered down.

Simple menu, but extremely high quality. Choose your own breakfast sandwich kind of place. Everything was freshly-made and delicious. I would eat their food every single day for the rest of my life.

5 stars for the butterscotch scone 3 stars for the cold brew Definitely feels like a village coffee spot, as it's right next to the bus station. Cute and modest inside. The cold brew tasted good and smooth but didn't have the jolt of caffeine I was looking for. But that scone! I'll be thinking about that scone for a long time, as I rarely even like scones, but this one was unique and had the perfect texture. Fewer than 10 seats inside.

Excellent pastries and coffee. Right by the Trailways station, so a great way to start or end your trip to New Paltz

I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger but I was able to substitute the burger for an impossible burger. The toppings on the burger were great, the fries were good, and service was outstanding. I also loved that their patio was dog friendly. I will definitely stop by again the next time I'm in New Paltz.

The Intontis don't have service industry backgrounds, but they did have a big idea that took shape in 2013--they launched the Hudson River Craft Beer Festival, which flooded Riverfront Park in Beacon with beer lovers that summer. After selling the festival, the couple looked toward opening a place that brought together their two loves--beer and coffee. Jeremy tends to curate the heavy rotation of craft beer in the establishment's 10 taps, while Erin's passion is acquiring gourmet coffee beans sourced from Coffee Lab Roasters in Tarrytown. In addition to their delicious beverages, the food menu at Underground Coffee & Ales features breakfast entrees, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and various bar bites. A large number of cyclists from the nearby Walkway Over the Hudson frequent the establishment during the warmer months. A second location opened in New Paltz in May 2024, followed by a third in Ellenville in February 2025. I recently visited the New Paltz location of Underground Coffee & Ales. I decided to stop for lunch while I was cycling on the nearby Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. It's located in the Historic Huguenot Street District, which is a foodie's paradise. I pulled up a seat by the bar and began to look over the food and beverage menus. I started off with a draught pour of Modist Brewing's "Green Greens" (New England IPA). This explosion of hops tasted so good after a long bike ride. For food, I ordered the "Southwest Burger" (crispy strip onion rings, jalapeño slices, avocado, tomato's greens, pepper jack cheese & chipotle aioli) with bacon and a side of "Underground Fries" (mound of fries topped with house cheese sauce, crispy bacon, dusted with Underground seasoning). The burger and the fries really hit the spot! I washed it down with a draught pour of Hop Butcher For The World's "A Myriad of Pyramids" (Double New England IPA). Overall I was impressed by the food, the selections, the decor, and the friendly and knowledgable staff. I had an excellent experience at Underground Coffee & Ales and I hope to visit another one of their locations in the future!
