By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in town and we have quite a few to choose from. I've only had one bad experience here and I'm 99% it was my own fault for ordering the wrong thing. For once I am throughly impressed by Mexican food. Everything here is very fresh. On the menu there is a section dedicated to just tacos. For your first visit you need to order 2 Al Pastor (grilled pork) tacos and 2 lingua (tongue) tacos. I know what you're saying "ooh I would never eat tongue" but I promise you will thank me later. The tongue looks like typical pulled pork except it tastes a thousand times better. They also have your standard things that you see on every Mexican food menu but stick with the tacos. Oh, and be very careful with their hot sauces. There's different ones and they all taste different. Have eaten hear four times. The prices are not to bad, maybe a little high. The food tastes fine. Have to get your own chips and salsa though. Food order has never been correct. Servers are not real personable. No need to go back again. First time here we waited 45 minutes for our food. They did give us a $5 discount without us even asking. read more

I have eaten authentic Mexican in various cities, and without a doubt aside from a Mexican family personally cooking for you (in fact this is a family cooking for you!), this is the very best in AUTHENTIC (and they will "Americanize" your food if you want) Mexican cuisine! Our favorite place to eat tacos. The Mexican tacos are outstanding and the salsa bar is awesome. I don't venture far from the tacos because they are so good. The tacos are also more reasonably priced than the rest of the menu. Have gotten some lengua that wasn't trimmed as well as it should be but that's my only real knock. read more

Ate here for lunch after golf. Had a chicken taco and a ground beef taco. Both were excellent and the others in our group enjoyed their food as well. The place was clean and non smoking. If you are in the mood for Mexican food give it a try. read more

Went here for the first time on a Monday night. I spent a year living in Halingen, TX which is practically North Mexico so that's my yard stick. I had the Mexican tacos, one asada, one pollo and one chorizo. The flavor was decent but all the meats were over cooked and dry. The salsa bar had some good salsas and picante. We had lunch here while in the Lake Cumberland region. We really enjoyed the food we ate here. Authentic and inexpensive. Delicious tacos and nachos. I didn't expect a 5 star restaurant because the location and decor said inexpensive and that's what I wanted. The bill was much more than I expected. I don't know where all the good reviews are coming from. I had a taco, enchilada and rice. I asked for a beef taco and a chicken enchilada and both items came as chicken, but it looked really good so I was hopeful and I decided not to correct them and kept it. Huge mistake! the chicken was tasteless and it was tough. The rice was bland as well. My husband had three different kinds of tacos and each one of his had no flavor. The fajitas are pretty good for this area. I would eat them again. The service was lacking when I went and the restaurant was not busy. When I went in I stood around and no one seated me so I found an empty table and sat down. Eventually someone came by with a menue and asked me what I wanted to drink and asked if I was ready to order. I had to look on the menue before I knew what to order. The menue has a nice selection and is well laid out. The server never mentioned that the chips and salsa were serve yourself, I had to figure that part out myself. After receiving my meal my server never returned to see if I needed a refill or more tortillas. When I was finished eating I had to walk up to the counter and pay, where the server was just standing there. She had not previously given me the bill. In short I would recommend this place to friends but I think the server just needed some more training. I think they had a JR staff that day and were just goofing off. read more

South of Somerset store...Yuck!! Mexican? If so, I have been eating something else in a real Mexican eateries! There is absolutely no flavor to any of their meats, salads , fahitas, etc...I had to use the picante/salsa from the 'free bar' to give a hint of flavor to my meal! We love this place! They have the best cheese dip we've eaten. Their salsa is fantastic. Everything we have ever tried has been delicious.
