We just had an amazing experience booking Spektical Entertainment for face painting and glitter tattoos at my child's 9th birthday. When I contacted Ash for booking via text, she responded very promptly with all of the information I needed to make my booking. I even accidentally gave her the wrong date originally, and she quickly found me an artist for the correct date once I realized my mistake. I paid a deposit, and she gave me contact information for the artist, Julia, along with my remaining balance and the preferred form of payment. I still can't quite believe it happened, but it rained in the Bay Area in June, and we were unable to hold our party at the outdoor park as planned. We had to quickly pivot and figure out what to do, standing in the rain in the Oakland Hills with a car full of food for 40 people. I called Julia, and she agreed to come do the face painting in our front yard under a canopy in the rain. She arrived early and got set up quickly. Her face painting and glitter tattoos were absolutely amazing. Everyone was in awe of the high-quality of her work. She also worked unbelievably quickly. We had a high number of kids attend, and Julia got through all of them in two hours. All the kids were delighted with what they got, and they all said Julia was so nice and fun. My daughter's first birthday was a huge hit and one of the highlights from it was being able to provide facepainting and balloon twisting for the guests' children. I booked their service through Thumbtack, and Ash replied back quickly to my inquiry. She was detailed about her services and the pricing. She requires a deposit to secure her services for the date of the event and accepts cash or check for the remaining balance on the day of. Once I decided to make the deposit, I was greeted with an email asking me to fill out a form. This form is to help her understand what kind of event we were having and to answer any questions to avoid as much interruption and conflict during the event. Ash was great at communicating and always kept me up to date up until the day of the event. She arrived promptly and immediately set up and started working with the kids. Ash handled the kids with care. Her face painting skills were amazing! The kids were so happy and kept going back for more. The younger kids enjoyed the balloon twisting. My nephew continues to talk about her ability to twist balloons. She made so many different balloons and a lot of beautiful face painting designs. This made each kid feel special to be able to show off their faces and arms to their family members during the event. Ashley is amazing! We have used her for two parties so far and have been so so so happy with her. First, we had her do balloon animals for my daughter's 2nd birthday (June 2018). She was wonderful! She came in an adorable outfit that was whimsical and fun and made the kids excited to go work with her. When she arrived, she set up and started making balloons before anyone even approached her with a request. She put a unicorn hat on my head and that generated a lot of interest from the kids and other adults at the party. She was super busy the whole time making spiderman, an alligator hat, a pilot hat with goggles attached, an elaborate octopus, and much more! Friends talked about the balloons and how fun they were well after the party. Just this past weekend, we used Spektical again for my older daughter's 4th birthday. With the slightly older crowd we opted for facepainting. Again, Ashley did not disappoint! She painted very intricate designs on the kids' faces and arms (for those a little less brave about letting a stranger paint their face). I saw unicorns, tigers, dragons, an amazing crocodile who had the boy's teeth as his own, a pokemon ball, and lots more! There was even a glitter rocketship on one boy's arm! In terms of booking, Ashley makes it so easy. I reached out via facebook messenger and then once I got her number we texted to coordinate details. She sent me an introductory email once we booked (by placing a small deposit) outlining everything she needed from me before and during the party. The day of the party she is always very communicative and when she arrives, I pay her then she is self-sufficient so I can keep hosting and she provides the fun! I hired Ashley from spektical entertainment for my sons 1st birthday! She is Great we are so glad we found her. The kids loved her and there faces and the parents were amazed in her talent. I hired her for 2 hours I was unsure of how many kids were coming to the party so we planned before for the first hour do face painting the the second hour do balloons but if there were more kids then expected then just continue with the face painting and of course we had about 30 kids come and go through out the party and she ended up just doing face painting like we discussed without me even having to check in with her she finished every kid that wanted there face painted.
