Contracted SPF to install a 30 ft hurricane motored screen. The salesman was great at explaining everything & showing us the different colors & thickness of the screen. They came out a few times to ensure they measured correctly due to the large length of screen that we needed. On the day of install, 3 guys showed up & the install took about 4 hours. I had agreed a monthly payment of 350.00 and I was getting billing of 550.00 monthly, the company wouldn't do anything about it, I was only going to get 3 windows done and then I thought about the rest of the windows, then I was going to change my mind before they did the extra work and the salesman who sold it to me told me they had already cut the material and they would be out , so we agreed upon 350.00 and boy they really took advantage of me, and nobody cares read more

I had a very disappointing experience with SPF Screens and Awnings. I scheduled an appointment, and no one showed up during the expected time window. When I called around 5:15 PM, I was told they were running late, but I never received a call, text, or even a door knock to let me know they had arrived or were nearby. Later, I was told their representative had been at my home from 5:00-5:30, which directly contradicts what I was told earlier and doesn't match my experience at all. This lack of communication and accountability wasted my time and was extremely frustrating. While they offered a credit afterward, reliability and clear communication are basic expectations for any service company. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet those standards, and I would not recommend them based on how this was handled. read more

She called around, nothing. We told her to go make sure the consultant was okay, and she said she would call us back and let us know. The awning is very good but it is undersize leaving a gap between the roof and the awning's edge which allows sun in on one side. We could not agree on the correction. Size not according to contract measurements. They did not respond to my concern until I challenged the remainder of the cost (1/2) which was on my credit card and the dispute was settled in my favor. The company's response was to move the awning over but that left a gap on the other side. ON and on we went with solutions but SPF would not agree that any damage to my roof caused during the fix would be corrected at no charge. Then the harassment started primarily by an employee named Jason who threatened to send his crew to pull out the awning for nonpayment. The awning remains under size and I will live with that rather than be harassed, bullied, and annoyed by an SPF employee. Somebody needs to get Jason under control or out. I need another awning at my back patio area. I will not hire SPF. read more

Absolutely the worst experience. There were issues with installation, which happens and they did eventually fix it with major rework. But the biggest issue arose when they failed to pay Suncoast Rentals for a lift they contracted to do the job and resulted in a LIEN on our home. Apparently this is legal in Florida. Such a nightmare to deal with and unnecessary headaches encountered during our experience with SPF. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. read more

We had a motorized hurricane screen put in last month. The salesperson was wonderful , but to our surprise, the installers from SPF were incredible! Not only were they personable, respectful and clean, but they answered any question we had. The 3 of them worked together as a real team should with respect with each other and shared knowledge. They cleaned up after they were done, and insisted on us testing it several times. They were proud of their workmanship and we are so fortunate to have a relationship with a helpful and honest company. We highly recommend SPF. read more

While SPF Screens & Awnings delivered a quality product, I am deeply concerned about the absence of any good customer service to show they stand behind their product. I had their product installed in May 2025 and, now in November 2025, I encountered a problem and called customer service. Despite their written warranty, the first thing uttered out of the mouth of the representative was that there would be a $125 service charge - despite my telling him the installation was recent. He mentioned he'd have someone call me back and six days later, I'm still waiting for a return call. In the meantime, I also phoned the sales rep (Steve Navarro) who sold me the product thinking he would provide a better level of customer support. I left a voicemail message and, as with the earlier call, I'm still waiting for a return call. Maybe I am just one of the unfortunate customers that doesn't matter, but for the cost of their goods, EVERY customer should matter. So if you're hoping to buy/install quality product with a company that stands by their warranty AND cares enough to offer a reasonable level of customer service, SPF just may not be the company you want to engage! read more

I would highly recommend SUN PROTECTION FLORIDA screen and awnings ! We had a screen installed to enjoy some of this beautiful fall-spring weather. The color was as we expected & the hardware and screen match our house perfectly! We can see out and no one can see in! Sam, Jean and Kenny installed our retractable screen, giving us an additional 215 sq ft of living space. They set the screen to stop at a certain spot so Ruby can get in and out when we're busy. I don not think its worth it for the price. Since we bought the Awning we complaint about not being good since it most of the time is closed. The sensor is very sensitive and we can hardly used for what its suppose to be. We call the company and they responded once to try to adjust the sensor, after that, nobody reached to us about the "Satisfaction Guarantee" Probably is a good product, but not for the area that we live. and the response from sales person or management was really poor. Now if we want them to take it down, even though we are non satisfied customer, they will charge $500. Not recommending this company at all. read more

Installer did a good job making sure the shade would raise & lower properly and smoothly. Just the right amount of sun blocking and privacy screening without being intrusive of (blocking) our neighbor's view.
