    Goodbye Miso

Dr. Liz Fraser was incredibly compassionate, kind, and soothing as we transitioned our kitty to the other side. We're so grateful to her!! We'd highly recommend this service to anyone who has to go through the heartbreaking experience of saying goodbye to a pet.

We truly had the best experience with Compassionate Pet Vet. Saying goodbye to our sweet pup was hard, but finding Compassionate Pet Vet and being able to spend the last moments with him in the comfort of our home made the day a bit easier. From my initial correspondence with Glynis who was so kind and super responsive to having Dr. Brieana and Gatlin come to our home and help our pup cross the rainbow bridge everyone was a pleasure to interact with. The Dr. was kind and patient as we said goodbye and transporting him after was done in a super caring & respectful way. Highly recommend Compassionate Pet Vet.

Not much to say other than thank you. The team at Compassionate Pet Vet was kind, patient, and truly lived up to their name. They were on time, answered all of our questions, and helped us through one of the hardest moments any pet owner can face. It's been two years, and we still miss our sweet Hanako every day. We're so grateful for the compassion and care they showed, making an incredibly difficult experience just a little easier to bear. Thank you to the entire team for the comfort and grace you provided when we needed it most. If anyone is in doubt if choosing them is the right decision, look no further.

There truly aren't enough words to convey how grateful I am to Dr. Brieana for the care she provided in putting my sweet Fae to rest. Fae was the first pet I had as an adult and she was with me for over 14 years. When a tumor started growing on her leg last year I chose not to amputate because of her age and size but when things took a turn, I had some guilt and was questioning whether I made the right decision on just monitoring it since she wasn't in pain. The immediate reassurance Dr. Brieana gave me confirming that a cat of her size and age would not have handled that surgery well and that I gave her the best final year etc. truly gave so much peace and eased any guilt I felt. The care she provided from beginning to end was incredible and I will forever appreciate it because that was the hardest day of my life. Vets like her don't go to school to be therapists to us pet owners but inevitably have to, and she carried that role with such kindness and empathy that it made an unbearable moment feel more manageable. Dr. Brieana you are an incredible human and leave a lasting mark on the hearts of the people and pets you help, thank you from the bottom of my heart I will never forget your kindness

There aren't enough words to express my deepest gratitude for Compassionate Pet Vets. During the years we have had to solicit their help to assist in the transitioning of our beloved fur babies. The compassion in which the team of doctors expressed not only to our fur babies but to the parents was and has always been phenomenal. From the soft tone of their voices in which they spoke to our babies to the way they explain the process in it's entirety. We were extremely grateful to Dr. Tunison in allowing my family to mourn our loss in private by exiting the room for as long as we needed to say our final goodbyes. At the conclusion; our baby was handled with care and respect as he was being prepared for transport. I am forever grateful to Compassionate Pet Vets and Dr. Tunison for the amazing experience.

Keepsakes (clay paw print & ashes)

We were recommended to Compassionate Pet Vet from our dog's veterinarian and we couldn't be more grateful. Also, after reading through all the reviews in Yelp, we were reassured they're the right people to take care our baby in his final moments. The fact that he could be with us till his last, in the comfort of our home was the only option for us. Compassionate Pet Vet made going through this inevitable process less painful starting from the paperwork to "the goodbye day". They took care of everything (cremation & keepsakes if you choose them); and their response was quick and the staff were friendly and understanding. The vet, Dr. Danielle arrived at our house on time on the day of our appointment and she was very professional and courteous. If you want more personable and less clinical approach you might need to ask for Dr. Maggie (based on reviews and our experience). You can check their website and FAQ to familiarize yourself with the process (It's hard and sad but we had to do it, just to prepare ourselves). For the option we chose, and the size of our dog; we paid $635 which is reasonable in my opinion but understand it can be expensive for some. However, if you're reading this review or wondering if you should use their service I'm sure you are the type of pet parent(s) who would do anything for your fur baby/babies. Thus, money is irrelevant and especially this would likely be the last thing that you could give to your beloved friend/family/baby. For cremation, you can choose communal or private, we picked private cremation )so we can keep our baby's ashes and selected a keepsake option (white clay paw print with his name, and opted for a scattering Container (no urn), and it also comes with a certificate of death, grief support information, and all came in a premium return packaging in dark blue color with paw prints on it which is so adorable. A week later, we got a call from Fond Memories that Kickapoo's ashes & clay paw print are ready to be picked up. Then two weeks later, we received a sympathy card from Compassionate Pet Vet with Dr. Danielle's personal handwriting on it which we think it is so thoughtful and comforting. All in all, we highly recommend Compassionate Pet Vet for this unfortunate circumstance that you may be faced with (which I wouldn't wish for anyone) but sadly it's inevitable and it is the last selfless thing you could do for your beloved family member. Admit it, no pets enjoy a vet clinic, being put to sleep without you there with just staff around them is far too horrid. Our pets deserve the best.

I am almost 99% sure my dog has patellar luxation & I just want her to be checked out. I just moved to Texas & wondering how much a check up visit would be? :)

I’m sorry to hear this. My little chihuahua had the same thing (and I’m happy to report is doing great now!). Our service is for in home euthanasia only, so you will want to either find a stationary vet clinic near you or a full service mobile vet… Read more

My usual vet, who we have been seeing since adopting the cat almost 2 years ago, rudely dismissed my concerns over the phone and insisted that I needed to pay an $80 office visit fee just to get an answer to my question over the phone (the question was "What does the PCR panel test for?"). I started calling every other vet in Austin to find a clinic that has experience with Tritrichomonas and that I felt comfortable with. Several clinics admitted that they did not know what the parasite was or had never treated it before. Another lied and said "oh, that is super easy to treat and really common and straightforward!" which I knew was not accurate from the empirical literature online. I finally found Austin Urban Vet and the experience we have had so far has genuinely been night and day different from pervious clinics. From the very first call, the AUV team was empathetic to our situation, VERY transparent about pricing (they provided it in writing), and explicitly clear about which PCR diagnostic panel they use at AUV and exactly what it tests for. They were open and honest about their experience with Tritrichomonas and I immediately felt at ease and confident in the care that they could provide my cat. After chatting with my partner about my findings from calling almost every vet in Austin, we both agreed Austin Urban Vet was the best one to move forward with, so we made an appointment. Right off the bat, I was happy to find that AUV has a private parking lot (for free!). I headed inside with my cat and the team at the front desk was so kind and helpful. They quickly checked me in and invited me to grab a bottle of water or make myself a cup of coffee as I waited for the tech to take us into the room. We waited for maybe ~5 minutes before the tech took us to the exam room, where she scanned my cat for her microchip, weighed her, and asked questions about the presenting problem, history, etc. Dr. Helen was who attended us for the exam itself, and she was so kind and thorough. I really felt that she was providing genuine feedback, and she was honest about her experience with this parasite. She was transparent about the treatment plan and let me know her general thoughts (Ie., "If she is still positive, we will do X. If she is negative, we can try Y.") We are now waiting for the PCR results, but so far, I am so happy with our experience and feel confident that Dr. Helen will provide us with the best care possible.

SOUTH PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL is now owned by a VENTURE CAPITAL FIRM called National Veterinary Associates, which in turn is owned by JAB Holding company, JAB has tripled in size since it started buying up vets and charging confiscatory prices, taking advantage of our love of our pets. I gave them two stars because at least they did my cat right and he's fine now. BUT they started burying me in pitch emails too, trying to feed fear about my cat's health, constantly trawling me for more money, more money, more money, all while pretending to care about my cat when they don't.
