So nice to see that it is not a corporate chain, or a teeter... or an unused strip mall. Went there recently for my kids car, which had a sensor that I could not replace. Brought in early on Friday morning, they ordered the part and gave me an 1100 (roughly) dollar estimate. Cam shaft sensors are not easy to get to, btw. They got the part in, got it fixed before the end of the day, and my bill was ~850 bucks. They didn't need to replace one of the sensors, and said to me, why spend the money if you don't need to. Respect that. If you get there early, you can generally wait a short time for simple stuff like oil change or junk. I just drop it off and pick it up after work. Muuuuuuccccccchhhhhh better than going corporate or dealer, by far!

Later that evening, they called with a repair estimate of $2,156 to replace the radiator fan, thermostat, and tires, plus $309 just to refill the antifreeze. When I called to ask about alternatives, they only reduced the price by $20. That felt excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion. I ended up going to NC Complete Auto Care, where the radiator fan was replaced for $881. They didn't charge for refilling the antifreeze and said the thermostat wasn't an issue and did not need to be replaced. They also let me know I could safely wait on the tires for a couple more months. I appreciated the transparency and will be taking my business there from now on. I can't recommend Cary Car Care based on my experience.

No call or text Wednesday 10/23/24 so I called at the end of the day and was told they hadn't started working on the car yet but I was in the queue for the work to be done in the morning. I called today Thursday 10/24/24 and they still hadn't touched the car! And that's when the mechanic told me the appt. was for the 30th. I realize it was my mistake on the scheduling but why didn't the check in lady tell me I had the day wrong? And why didn't someone notice yesterday when the car was sitting there all day? And why did they say the car was in queue to be worked on in the morning? I'm on my way out of town for a family emergency and this messed me up so badly. I've been calling all over to see if I could get a rush job on the work. Really terrible service and I will never go back here or recommend them. Update: I appreciate the businesses response but there was another aspect of this situation that bothered me. When I realize the date mistake I asked the guy who answered the phone if they could squeeze me in. He said: if someone who has an appointment doesn't show up or cancels we can get you in. But I can't make any guarantees. I kind of expected that he'd try to see if he could accommodate me but he just said sorry...can't do anything. I made an online appt for 12:30. I got there about 10 minutes early. They took my car in right away. I told the guy at the front I had 45 minutes max or I'll need to leave and reschedule. He said should be no problem. After about 30 minutes I was getting nervous because I had to be back at work by 1:10. So I started watching my tech. Slow as molasses. Guy disappeared a few times in the back room for minutes at a time, AFTER her poured the oil in the car. Walked across the ENTIRE shop to throw away my old oil sticker. Spent 10 minutes at a computer inputting information. Just so damn slow. Driving me nuts. Should not have taken nearly an hour to change my oil with a guy on the job immediately at drop off. I was 15 minutes late back to work. I was pacing in front of the desk guy but he couldn't be bothered to help move this job along. All that for the minimum cost of $91. No conventional option I was told. This was the cheapest option. There will not be a 3rd time going here.

Very friendly, family operation that is a full service mechanic shop. Prices were reasonable and they took me out to the car and pointed out a couple of things. One we were aware of, but not the other. They actually told me the new issue was not anything they would recommend fixing. How is that for an honest mechanic! Bill, put the car in the lift and did his inspection after he checked the engine area. He brought my daughter to her car and showed her a couple areas of concern That will need to be addressed in the future but not critical at this point. My daughter was really impressed with Bill's professionalism and willingness to explain things to her. She is a grad student at NCSU and needs to develop a relationship with an honest and reputable service center. From what she told me, it looks like she's found it. I trust my daughter's car to Bill and his staff. These folks have earned a strong reputation in Cary. They are definitely worth a look.

I visited the Grease Monkey location on Chapel Hill Road in Morrisville for an oil and filter…read moreservice on my Mercedes-Benz GLC 300. After pulling my vehicle into the bay, the technician removed the oil cap and then discovered they did not have the correct oil or filter needed to perform the service. My vehicle was returned to me, and I left the location. A few miles later, I noticed the vehicle was idling rough and driving abnormally. After stopping to inspect the engine, I discovered the oil cap was missing. When I called the Morrisville location, the employee who answered immediately recognized the seriousness of the situation and transferred me to the technician, who instructed me to drive to another Grease Monkey location in Cary. The Cary team discovered engine oil throughout the engine compartment and eventually found the missing oil cap lodged inside the engine bay. They cleaned the engine, completed the oil change, and inspected the vehicle. My concern is that a vehicle was released after a technician removed a critical engine component and failed to ensure it was properly reinstalled before returning the vehicle to the customer. Given the potential risk of engine damage, this was a serious oversight and needs to be addressed.
