Vinyl, cassettes, tons of CDs. If you love music, check them out.

Small shop, great stuff. They have vinyl, cassettes, and more CDs than I think I have seen just about anywhere outside of Amoeba Records in L.A. The prices were very reasonable. It may be a small store but there are some legitimate gems to be found here if you have some time to browse. There aren't many of these types of places still around. This is a very cool shop for music lovers.

Ive been to Spin Records a bunch of times and it feels like an authentic record shop! You are surrounded by all forms of music(records, CDs, cassettes) and all genres(rock, hip hop, etc). They even have VHS tapes. Reminds me of a very compact Amoeba records. I like Spin because they have a mix of the obscure stuff along with the big albums that everyone wants. Pricing is fine and they have to pay for their great location somehow. I like the discount records in the back. Some really obscure stuff. Whenever I'm in the village will usually walk over to Spin after getting food at one of the many awesome spots. My favorite is GONZO(see review).

Spin Records is on Grand Ave in downtown Carlsbad. They pack a lot of vinyl records and CDs in a compact small space. It's very popular. We were specifically looking for some jazz records and the jazz selection was minimal. Overall pretty eclectic otherwise. The staff seemed friendly and helpful.

This is definitely the coolest record store in Olive Carlsbad! They have everything from T-shirts to incense candles. I highly recommend stopping by.

They have vinyl, of course, and almost more used CDs than I have seen anywhere else in San Diego County. I know I am dating myself when I say I am more of a CD person but the selection was outstanding and the price ($5 per CD unless marked otherwise) was very reasonable. I would say the vinyl prices are pretty much on par with what you see elsewhere. They even have tapes and, while I lived through the tape era, you could not get my to buy one for any price. Plus, who has a tape player? They were playing outstanding music throughout our visit. I felt like I was at a concert. I can see myself coming back here with some frequency. I easily spent an hour browsing and had a good time doing so.

They have multiple locations and each one is packed with fun and interesting stuff. They have everything a comic fan would want. Comics, trades, shirts, figures, statues, etc. Problem is each store is just unorganized with memorabilia all over the place. It's hard to find things and stuff is out of order. There isn't a logical layout. The other thing that bugs me is pricing on stuff is just inconsistent or wrong. I understand marking things up for the person who might not be familiar, but you are only hurting your store in the process because like most retail shops people will just opt to buy it cheaper online(or find it for less at a different place in the mall). Also, there is dust everywhere. I'm sympathetic that they probably don't have the staff to keep everything tight and that the store can look disheveled due to all the foot traffic, but show that you care! They moved to a smaller location in the mall and the store does look better than it did, but the fact that Ninja Exchange is right next store and is wildly popular on the weekends should make Comics-N-Stuff take a long look in the mirror. They could be getting a lot of the Ninja Exchange people Monday-Thursday if they capitalized. Running a business, let alone a comic shop, is difficult in this day n age. I will stop in to try to support every now and then, but it is hard when you get the sense that the love isn't there.

Whether I'm browsing for books, looking at gifts, or just wandering around, it's one of my favorite places to spend an hour or two. The employees have always been friendly and helpful, and there's plenty of parking in the shopping center. It can get pretty busy, especially on weekends, and the checkout line can move a little slowly at times, but that's really my only complaint. I also love the café. Grabbing a Starbucks drink and a snack while I browse is part of the experience for me. It's a fun place to spend time by yourself or even go on a casual date. One thing to keep in mind is that the café does not accept Starbucks gift cards, which was a surprise to me. Other than that, I highly recommend this location.

They also still have a cozy Starbucks inside with the OG 90s/2000s decor. Okay, onto the whole reason I'm writing this review. TDLR I was gypped into joining their rewards program. I go to check out and am asked if I am a B&N member. I say that I am not and the cashier proceeds to inform me of this "special offer" they're offering to non-members today only. All he asks is my name and email. In hindsight, this was a red flag and was most certainly a gig to get me to sign up without explicitly saying so. Low and behold, I get handed a rewards card and the receipt reflects my new membership. I immediately phone into their support line (there's no option to do this yourself online) to deactivate my account. Hey, I get it. As an employee you have to always ask people to join. However, please just do the honorable thing and be straightforward and respectful if they decline. I can deal with persistence. What I do not appreciate is deceit. Slimy experience. I will not be back.
