It would be much better if skaters were allowed to roam the rink freely with the helpers. Aside from that, it's a solid place to skate, especially for families, and with a little more flexibility on the helpers it would be even better.

Glass, boards and benches still shining and new. Cleanliness: locker rooms and bathrooms constantly cleaned by staff many times PER day. Summary: Berger Iceplex arena is 5 years old and still has that clean new vibe. The staff look to enjoy working there and the place is very well run! We've even played a game on the main AHL ice. Kudos to the management running the rinks, just a first class operation. I've skated at tons of ice rinks and this place is the best!

Recently, two of my friends found out that I wanted to learn, so we all went out on a Sunday evening. Sundays, Skateworld closes at 8:30. We arrived at 6:30 which gave us plenty of time. Open skate and skate rental costs $25 per person. It felt a bit steep to me, but I realize that they don't make money on much else so it's really not bad. They offer lockers at a price. There is free filtered water. It was a bit odd when my friends brought me a gift bag with knee pads, that they said no gift bags of any kind were allowed. It seemed odd as I thought children had roller skating birthday parties at places like this. At least they let us take out the knee pads and carry in the empty bag. Anyway, the space wasn't too crowded on Sunday, so it was easy to practice. I also rented one of those little wheeled walkers so I didn't fall all over the place. I was a bit bummed to learn that they didn't offer lessons, outside of their monthly "academy". I would have loved to drop in for a single session. All in all, it was a pretty good time.
