I have lived in Phoenix for 20 years, having grown up on a farm in the Midwest and owning a construction company in Phoenix I have had back and neck pain stemming from heavy lifting, etc. I was lucky to have had a great chiropractor back in the Midwest who always kept me adjusted and feeling 100%. Since moving to Arizona I thought it would be no problem finding another great chiropractor being Phoenix was such a large city and had a population larger than the whole state I grew up in, however I found this task to be much more difficult than I could have ever imagined. Over the years in Phoenix I had tried at least 30 different chiropractors with no luck and in my desperation even resorted to acupuncture and prescription pain drugs to relieve the pain which were of no help. All of the chiropractors that I went to either offered no help after months of treatment or made my pain worse with their back breaking techniques. I had finally gotten to a point where the pinching on my sciatic nerve was so intense that I sought out who was supposed to be a top Phoenix chiropractor. I was under his treatment for several months with no improvement and he kept assuring me it would just take a little more time and the reason my pain was so great was due to me having one leg longer than the other. After several months I was to a point where walking was becoming very difficult and working as I used to was not possible. I then went to see my doctor who told me that given my age of early 40's and the type of work I have done in my life that I probably needed back surgery and only wanted to prescribe pain medication. I will never forget the day I was blessed to finally find Dr. Steve and Spinal Works. It was a Thursday morning and I attempted to get out of bed and literally fell to my knees on the floor in pain. I was near tears not only out of pain but of sheer frustration. While lying on the floor I said to myself that there must be someone who could help. I got on my laptop to once again search for an answer and as if God was in control of my search results Spinal Works showed up on my first search and they were very close to where I was living. I had searched 1000's of times and tried countless chiropractors, but never before seen Spinal Works. I had called and spoke with the receptionist at the front desk and asked if there was any way they could get me in that same day as I was in horrific pain. She was super nice and said they would fit me in and to come later that day. When I arrived I filled out the paperwork and after a short wait I met Dr. Steve who took me in the adjustment room. He was very thorough in his questions and then took some x rays. While the x rays were being developed he had me go into the therapy room to relax my back and neck muscles, then he brought me back in for an adjustment. Dr. Steve told me that initially relieving the pain would be no problem and that my hips were out of alignment. He went on further to explain that relieving the pain would be one thing and fixing would be done with regular treatments. I had initially been very skeptical, but something about my experience thus far made me feel very relaxed and comforted as I did when I was back with my old chiropractor in the Midwest. We finished with the treatment and he told me to come again the next day. When I awoke Friday I was already able to get out of bed with no problem and my pain went from a 9 out of 10 to a 5 out of 10. I went in that day for my second adjustment and after scheduled a series of appointments recommended by Dr. Steve. When I awoke Saturday morning I was without pain for the first time in almost 20 years. I felt as if I was 25 all over again. I felt so good that I went and hiked to the top of the mountain at Lost Dutchman state park. While hiking I thanked God for leading me to Dr. Steve. I know each and every person has different problems and will have different experiences in life, however for me I went from being on my knees in unbearable pain to hiking a 4500 foot mountain within two days. I knew I did not need surgery and pain pills to mask the problem, I only needed the right person to know how to fix the problem. After seeing Dr. Steve and following his recommended therapy I have been able to have my life back and was even able to fully complete the toughest race on earth, the Tough Mudder, which I would never have been able to do without the help of God and Dr. Steve. I am sorry this review is so long, but there was no way I could relay my thanks and gratitude in a few words. I have also sent many of my friends to Dr. Steve who have gone through similar bouts of chiropractors who did nothing to help and they have all had the same results as I have. I have been receiving treatment from Dr. Steve for more than eight years now, and he is fabulous! I have been to other chiropractors, and Dr. Steve is definitely top notch. I started with this practice because I was having back and neck pain. I have Scoliosis, so back issues have been with me for most of my life. Dr. Steve helps me with that and so much more. Over the years, he has eased my knee pain, leg pain, sinus congestion, headaches, finger pain and more. He even adjusted me throughout my pregnancy and helped to make that process easier on my body. He really listens to what you are saying, and he treats the whole person. He aims for total health, not just a quick fix. Dr. Steve uses a variety of techniques and methods, and he tailors his treatments to meet the needs of each individual person. He is very kind and personable. He is easy to talk to and I felt comfortable with him very quickly. Dr. Steve's work comes from a heartfelt and honorable place. He is a wonderful man and an outstanding chiropractor. Dr. Steve's office staff is also wonderful. Jocelyn at the front desk is amazing. She is warm and friendly as well as very efficient. Making an appointment is easy, and she will even squeeze me in for same day appointments when I suddenly need it. During the past three years, I have been in two car accidents. Jocelyn has dealt with the car insurance companies and my medical insurance company quickly and effectively. She really knows her stuff, and she is on top of everything. She keeps me informed about what is going on with that process, and she just makes it easy for me. When you walk into a doctor's office, it's always nice to be greeted with a smile and a friendly greeting. Jocelyn and the other staff members always make me feel welcomed. read more

This facility is absolutely amazing. From The receptionist over the phone to the Chiropractor they have exceptional service and treatment. They are soft spoken and I sincerely felt as if they were concerned about the issues I was having rather than many medical field personnel that many of us encounter on a regular basis. The individuals who are quick to write a script rather than investigate the actual cause. To be honest I feel such peace in this office. As for me personally I am touched by the Christian music being played in every room. It is uplifting and inspiring to believers and Non. I visited the office of Dr. Steve Van Laecken with sever neck and back pain. The pain kept me from work and was causing loss of sleep which intensified my condition. My neighbor recommended Steve. After the first visit my pain was relieved. Together we decided on a three month program to further relieve the pain. After the three months a maintenance program was developed of two adjustments per month and exercises which I could do at home since I have had chronic back pain for many years. I have know Dr. Steve for almost 10 years. From the initial visit to The X-rays where it had and was discovered that my hip was crooked and my neck was way out of alignment. I've been to many places for care and have never found a better place. Dr. Steve cares about his patient and has many resources to try to make you feel better. Went for my first visit and I couldn't ask for more from Dr. Steve. His office staff although friendly isn't the best to deal with for insurance issues. I was going for week then showed up for a visit and was told I owed them money. Why I asked why they couldn't give me a reason. That isn't good enough.
