One of the best Mexican Restaurants I've ever been to and I've been to over 100! Road trip from Bellevue to Oroville and after our truck broke down six times still doing overheated transmission luckily we rolled into the Lovely Camaray motel across the street from this huge artistic beautiful restaurant. Our waiter was the wonderful Salvador who brought us delicious ice water super thin and crispy and hot fresh tortilla chips and their signature salsa within 60 seconds of us sitting down! The fantastic margaritas were delivered two minutes later. He suggested the three color enchiladas as I told him I like enchiladas which meant they came with red green and white like the Mexican flag two were ground beef and one was shredded beef and they were a 10 out of 10! The frijoles are homemade and the Mexican rice was excellent as well especially with all the sauces the pico de gallo which was also delivered with the salsa and the sour cream that was mounded in the middle of the plate as you'll see in the photos. My wife ordered her favorite which is a rose come Pollo served on another giant sizzling hot ceramic plate. The building itself obviously has some history judging from the old brick which you can see in places among all the hand carved and hand-painted chairs and tables it's like walking into a museum really looking at all the artwork it's just gorgeous. Oroville by the way is a beautiful part of Washington state and only five minutes from the Canadian border so this is worth a trip from the Bellevue area (270 miles overnight in Lake Chelan) if you want to see part of the state you probably never seen before that's just beautiful geologically. This little town of Oroville is cute historic and has super friendly people. We will come back to this fantastic Mexican restaurant again it was a wonderful way to celebrate Mother's Day. Salvador made a challenging day of breaking down along the road six times the air conditioning going out which was an addition to the caliper sticking two days ago which had to be replaced along with new rotors and brake pads. The food was okay. My dish came out more like a soup than a dish. It ended up tasting okay but didn't look very appetizing. There wasn't but a couple patrons in the restaurant. Regardless, it was still hard to find an employee. However, you could hear them goofing around and laughing in the back. I think I ate here before and was more pleased. Not sure what happened. Place has a lot of flare and decorations, but it wasn't busy and felt weird. read more

First time we have gone to a Mexican restaurant and got hard taco shells.... thought we were at Taco Bell. Horchata was made from a pre-mix, another disappointment. Taco filling was great, cabbage slaw was a hit, but this is not enough to want to come back. First and last time, too bad as the waiter was wonderful... when he was around. read more

Excellent First--context. Literally located on the US/Canadian border, therefore options are limited. Some of the reviews commented on ingredients' sourcing. This is a Mexican restaurant on the northern border of the US. Their food is great--especially given what they have to work with. This is a family run establishment. They are clearly service oriented. If you review the less informed reviews they all concur with excellent service-- this place respects money and provides great service. Drinks are solid. Third time I've been here, took a friend with me this time as the food previously was fantastic. The server gave us chips and salsa after we sat down, did not give the cabbage slaw as did previously both times. Did they run out of the cabbage? Was good though. I ordered the Carne Asada & Mojo. The beans on the plate were spread out very thin & was very runny. I was able to scrape up maybe 2 forkfuls of the beans. The rice that was given was significantly smaller than was given my 1st 2 times here. The lettuce with a tiny dollop of guacamole had 1 tiny cube of tomato on it, & was about a teaspoon size; significantly smaller than before. The grilled jalapeno pepper was now cut in half; previously a whole grilled jalapeno pepper was given. The sauteed mushrooms were very dark colored and tasted sour, like they were off, & were in a dark grey/brown runny sour tasting liquid. The shrimp were good, but went from 5 shrimp to 3. The thinly grilled beef slices were decent, some was fresh, other pieces were dry, tough & tasted like they were grilled hours before. The food on the plate was barely lukewarm. The corn tortillas were good. My friend had a chimichanga, her beans were also very runny & thin. Rice was good. Chimichanga was decent, and the beef in it she said was dry. Disappointing because my previous 2 experiences here was really good. The tarriffs were recently implemented; is this why? We came from B.C. for dinner. Not sure we will come back. read more

Been here many times over the years. Mostly it's great. Kind of slow, but worth the wait. Margaritas yummy! I had the beef fajita. Came here first wh the n arriving in town. This place is amazing!! The food was great, kids menu was perfect! My wife and I shared the Rancho Grande Burrito it was very flavorful and huge!! I tried 2 of there margaritas and both where wonderful!! The meal came with a complementary dessert and a shot of tequila for my wife and I both where wonderful!! We just moved into town and will visit this place frequently moving forward. The service was wonderful on point and very friendly!! I cant say enough good things about Rancho Grande and its staff looking forward to returning for sure!! The tortilla was lightly fried and the filling very tasty. My server, a young man, was very polite, timely, and checked on me several times. The owner also checked on me a couple of times. Came to Oroville not expecting many options for dinner but was pleasantly surprised by this locally owned Mexican restaurant. The staff are super friendly. There is a large vegetarian menu which I was really happy about. The food came fast and was really good. The owner (I think) gave a complimentary shot of tequila, which was amazing, and the dinner also came with a complimentary desert, which was super tasty. I went back to my hotel with a super happy tummy and really appreciate the extra lengths they go to, to make this such an awesome experience. Thank you! read more

My coworkers and I came out for dinner to this beautiful restaurant. We come out of tri citys so we had never heard of Rancho Alegre so we figured it would be great to try it. Distanced dine in options. The hostess and gentleman were superb. Amazing service and everything was wiped before we sat down and as soon as we got up to leave. Friendly, a little bit of a wait for the food but absolutely worth it. The burrito was as big as my 10 year olds head. Not good. Had a two enchilada/taco combo with beef and chicken. Flavorless sauce, clinically depressed rice and beans, cardboard tortillas. Plus they had the gall to add a surcharge for using a credit card. Who does that at a restaurant in 2018? Service was fine, more or less, but the food was pretty bad. read more

We've been here a couple times before in the last few years (in May during Bluesfest), and it was good...nothing to write home about, but good. Tonight we went for dinner and the place was fairly busy, but most tables were finishing up. The gal at the counter never greeted us - just asked how many and lthen ed us to a table. The fact that all four of us only wanted water seemed to piss her off. We ordered, and my husband specifically asked if his combo burrito came with guacamole and she said yes. As we sat there sweating (no AC), our unfriendly waitress brought our food and promptly left. Hubby's meal had 2 slices of avocado on top but no guacamole. I had ordered a side of guacamole with my meal and had to ask for it again because it did not come with my meal, and our other friend had to ask again for her side as well. The guys started eating and hubby asked me what the filling was in his burrito and I said it looked like shrimp, and then our other friend said his was supposed to be shrimp and it wasn't. She had mixed up their orders. After waiting 5 minutes for her to come back, we finally flagged her down and told her the situation. She immediately said it was our fault (?), and when we asked her to bring the guys the correct meals, her response was, "I'll have to change you for them". We said no, we weren't paying for 2 additional meals on top of the original 4, and asked for a manager. She replied that she was the manager!! We were ready to walk out when she said what she meant was that she couldn't comp us the 2 meals. We said we didn't ask to be comp'd - that we were happy to pay for the meals but we wanted the correct meals. We waited 20 minutes for the right meals to be delivered (2 of us were done eating by then), and she did apologize for the mixup when she brought the meals, but then we didn't see her again until 20 minutes later when we walked up to the counter to pay since she hadn't brought our check. She suddenly become friendly and concerned, asking if the food was good, etc. The food was good. Decor is really cool. Service...not so much. Next time we'll hoof it further down the street to the other Mexican restaurant. read more

Great food and generous portions! The place was packed, which is always a good sign. Clean dining area and bathroom. Love the old school art in the booths. I travel a lot to Oroville for business and love Mexican food. Fantastic to have a restaurant so conveniently located downtown and open daily. Great food, nice people, and festive atmosphere. Always look forward to eating here multiple times. read more
