I was in the area and had about 30 minutes until the store closed. I couldn't find it so I called the number, and the guy on the phone helped me find the store located inside the plaza. When I got there the staff greeted me and was very friendly and helpful. I got to try many samples of their delicious creme liqueurs and was not disappointed. I originally discovered spirits and spices when I was in Chicago, and the experience I had there was also great. I never leave empty handed. I thought true customer service was a thing of the past--until I visited Spirits & Spice in Sedona, Arizona. This shop is an amazing concept with outstanding service. We were helped by Jennifer, who guided us through the entire space as if she were welcoming us into her own home. The store offers custom vinaigrettes, spirits, tequila, vodka, liqueurs--you name it, they have it. Jennifer provided generous samples of anything we wanted to try, whether it was something for a salad or something to mix into a drink. Her recommendations were down-to-earth, and she wasn't a pushy salesperson at all. She spoke to us like we were guests at a party she was hosting. Do note: the shop is small, so you'll need to be comfortable navigating close quarters with other customers and staff. There may be a short wait if the staff is helping others, but they do their best to juggle everyone's needs. The level of customer service here is truly unparalleled. My friend purchased some liqueurs and vodka, and I bought the lemon cucumber vinaigrette--it is to die for. I already know I'll be ordering more during the holiday season to send as gifts. The packaging is thoughtful: they seal the bottles with wax for protection (perfect for travel or shipping), and wrap everything with care. Their steak seasoning is one of the best, far better than anything I can find at the regular grocery store, and I always make sure to stock up. Their selection of olive oils and vinegars are also wonderful! Expansive selection, unique flavors, multiple sizes. They also have a small sampler that would be a great gift. Everything is right about this place "try before you buy" spirits plus shop. Small batch spirits along with balsamic and Olive Oils. A little bit of everything. This is truly an education in artisanal spirits. Employees are really nice and knowledgeable. This place is super unique and absolutely you should visit here if you appreciate the intricacies of olive oil, basalmic, liqueurs of the most amazing flavors, cognac and tequila. What an unassuming place! We just arrived into town from Vegas/Hawaii, so were roaming around her and came across this spot. Most of our 12 friends stayed outside or looked around but, one girlfriend stayed in there for an hour. I was like "WTH is she doing in there?" Let me tell u she was sampling some really delicious oils --- calamansi, lemon, and hickory were some of our tops! AND there was samples of liquor, too. That first day, we got 3 bottles and cracked them open back at our hotel. Had a make shift charcuterie board in our hotel room and had our very own "happy hour!" Lol We ended up going back there every day of our trip because the other girls wanted to get some bottles. Long story short, we left with a COOLER of oils to bring home for Christmas gifts!!!! The most charming liquor purchase experience I've ever had. My wife and I spoke with an employee, Jennifer, for twenty minutes about choices, tasted the Lime Tequila they have as well as a Black Truffle Oil and Garlic Vinegar variant, and we ended up buying six items. We were upstairs visiting the bookstore/ record store, and as we were descending the stairs, we looked through the window and saw these tiny caskets. Stephen wondered what it was, and I suggested we take a peek. Once side of the store has spices and oils. The other side has spirits, from whiskey to liqueurs. That's what Stephen gravitated toward. Caroline helped us, and I don't know if she was following us as part of a customer service experience, or making sure we were not riff raff? Well regardless, she knew her stuff, and described various boozy beverages to us. Stephen tried a few liqueurs and whiskys (he should have gone for the higher end ones, but didn't) and we ended up going home with 4 bottles. Pricey place, but then again, what place in Sedona isn't? We stopped here on a whim after we saw a woman clutching a bag with the name on it, and we were absolutely delighted when we walked in and the saleswoman, Wendy, said, "Everything is try-before-you-buy, so what do you want to taste?" We tried some bourbon, tequila, flavored vodka, and wine, and ultimately bought three bottles of wine, a tequila, a bourbon, and some vodka. Came into this shop after being recommended it by our jeep tour guide. Super cute shop with a great idea and cool vibe. One lady was extremely helpful and friendly with our group with tequila. Another lady working the front was nothing but rude. I am more of an olive oil lover than tequila, so I was looking at the selection of olive oils. The lady at the front didn't say a single word to me after I was looking for quite some time. I eventually asked her how it works, if I could try a sample after she had greeted and asked the following 2 customers if she could help them. Her response to me was just staring at me, not a single word came out of her mouth. I proceeded to say "can I try one?" And she finally responded "ya! I was waiting for you to tell me which one you wanted!" In a super rude attitude. I tried the roasted garlic olive oil, and as I was trying it she just walked away. Little did she know, I drink olive oil for the health benefit and intended to buy a couple bottles to take home. She was no where to be found when I wanted to try another and never asked how I liked it etc. customer service from this lady was awful. Needless to say, some in our party walked out with a couple bottles of tequila, and I walked out with nothing and a horrible customer service experience. I enjoyed this little store on my weekend getaway to Sedona. The manager David pepper was the person who helped me during my visit. I knew I wanted to pick up a whiskey but I wasn't sure which one I wanted. So through sampling I chose a bottle of MB Roland; a single barrel Kentucky Straight Burbon Whiskey. I chose to go with a cask strength which is a 111.8 proof (55.9% alcohol). After a bunch of different samplings I chose this one because of their complex flavor. There were several other bourbons I enjoyed but this one caught my attention. Only 96 bottles produced and this one set itself apart from the others. I also picked up a bottle of Ginger look war that I think will be a fabulous addition to my Moscow mules. They had a bunch of different liquours, spices, oils, and vinegars. Pretty much everything they had could be flavored in some sort of fashion. One thing I noticed about other reviewers is they were giving low ratings based on the cost of the products. One thing you have to remember is these small businesses are subject to high operating costs based on the location they are in. If the cost bothers you shop somewhere else. It's all about the experience; I remember once buying a bottle of Tequila in Vegas for $300 knowing that I could get it elsewhere for a $180. I was in Vegas having fun with my friends so I bought it end of story. I didn't complain or leave negative reviews because buyer beware I knew better. read more

One of the worst retail experiences I have ever had. I am not sure if it was prejudging me by the clothes I wore on my hike or the color of my skin but the dude working the liquor area completely ignored despite being urged twice by a former coworker turned customer to offer me a sample of the bourbon he was going on and on and on about. It is kind of surprising that this kind of ignorance and unprofessional behavior exists in a place as beautiful as Sedona but it obviously does. The girl giving samples in this store touches the rims of the cups and touches her face and lips repeatedly. When I told her that I'd like to take my own sample cup, she asked her manager, confused as to why I didn't want her touching my cup. I explained to her manager what happened, who proceeded to get offended and angry about what I just said. Insane how unhygienic they are, and how they don't even care when you approach them about it. I am really shocked at the lower rated reviews for this shop, but I suppose most of them are older from when this was a Vom Fass location. A friend and I went up to Sedona this past weekend and she had mentioned she found a cool store last time she was in town that she bought this great specialty liqueur from. Being in several Vom Fass shops before I recognized the uniqueness of the set up and hand written bottle labels, even though this is a different franchise. Since Sedona is currently under strict Covid protocol guidelines from their mayor a mask is required to enter, (anywhere in Sedona right now) which wasn't a big deal for us and we appreciated everyone adhering to this. They also had the door roped off and were only allowing 6 people in at a time. They also had specific tasting designated areas for you to stand while your mask was removed. I went in not expecting to buy anything and left after dropping almost $200. I believe the gentleman helping us was Gabe and he was SO knowledgeable. Even helping us find oils and mixing them for us to taste to pair with the balsamic's we had already selected. I ended up with the prickly pear balsamic, the blood orange balsamic, the basil oil, the lemon oil, and the jalapeño oil. All of which taste amazing mixed with each balsamic. I've never been so exited to eat salads all week. I also ended up with a tzatziki spice blend and a rose liqueur. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area again, such a great gem only being a couple hours from Phoenix. It is also wonderful that you can order online and they'll ship to you. However I think the in store experience really justifies the pricing for these items. Is it slightly higher than others? Yes, however it's extremely premium quality stuff and that paired with the experience we had made all the difference in the world for me to buy. read more

5 stars in my book! I am so surprised by all the negative reviews for VOM FASS Sedona, although many of the 1 and 2 star reviews are several years old. I've visited this store a handful of times in the last two years and I have always received stellar service! My last visit was early March 2018 and it was excellent as always. Deborah helped me pick out three olive oils and a few seed oils and vinegars. She was patient while I tried different samples and made me feel like a valued customer! When I walked past the storefront in Tlaquepaque in March 2018, I panicked thinking VOM FASS had closed! Nope - no need to panic! They just rebranded and renamed their store to "Spirits & Spice" so they could sell their spice line in addition to oils, vinegars and liquors. I really love all the products I've tried here, including: multiple olive oils, pumpkin seed oil, hazelnut oil, mango vinegar, apple vinegar and raspberry vinegar. The products are very high quality and very fresh. Even though the olive oils are more expensive than what you can find at a generic grocery store, they're worth every penny! I love to cook and it makes a huge difference when you've got great oil and vinegar options! My boyfriend likes their liquors and has purchased several different bottles of whiskey and tequila. I'm not a huge alcohol fan but my BF reports that everything he's tried at VOM FASS/Spirits & Spice has been excellent. FYI - if you save your bottles and bring them back clean for a refill, you'll get a discount! They also have a rewards system that gives you money back (as a discount) if you spend a certain $ amount. I believe it's $50 off once you've spent $250, but don't hold me to that! If you're visiting Sedona, be sure to stop by the store for some free samples! But don't be surprised if you end up liking everything and spending all your vacation money here! read more

We only had a short time to spend in Sedona. I'm glad this is one of the few stores we stoped in. First of all the selection is a bit overwhelming. On one side are olive oils and spices. The other side has a huge selection of spirits. We are visiting from NY so the first question is can they ship to NY. YES they do. They offer free shipping for orders over $120 with a $8 signage fee. ALL of the products are available to sample! The manager Joe was very eager to have us try samples. He suggested some combinations that we absolutely delicious. We could have spent way more here but due to limited time we bought enough for the free shipping. Joe was great to work with. We will absolutely be back to Sedona and Spirit and Spice is at the top of the list of places to visit. read more

I loved that there was a limit on how many people can be inside due to COVID and employees and everyone were wearing masks (yes it's enforced here!) if tasting, they created tasting spots where you can safely take your mask off to taste. Only issue was it can get quite busy! There were only two employees available and being Labor Day weekend, it got quite busy! Cute little place tucked away in the art/shopping plaza. I'm so happy my boyfriend wanted to stop in. Usually I don't care much for alcohol stores because I get bored but wow the associates here keep you in your feet and are so fun! You can try almost any liquor or vinaigrette they have which I thought was a helpful feature. They have very interesting and unique options for everything. As soon as I saw that they had absinthe, I ran over to it and the associate was more than happy to prepare some for me the traditional way. How thoughtful and amazing!
