    Good humor & 100% agree!

Great view over the marsh & waterview of boats coming up to dock. They offer inside (high top & low) & outside seating. Seafood is mostly all fried except the seafood platters. Really good selection of sides (fried zucchini sticks, green beans with bacon, & fried okra). We order the mushroom stuffed crab, that the hubby loved! We split the seafood broil & had plenty to share (good portion). Kinda pricey for mostly fired seafood. Good selection on tap as well

No plates were taken during the meal experience.

** Worst service we've had in a long time** ** We won't be back ** - told 30 minute wait; actual wait 50 minutes. - 10 minutes before server came to the table - 15 minutes to get our cocktails. They sat at the bar for 10 minutes. Our server, Jennifer then tried to deliver them to the wrong table. - waited 30 minutes for our food. My wife's sides came out without the stuffed crab. She finished them before the crabs finally came out. - Jennifer never checked on us. Needed refills and malt vinegar. - watched other tables' guests wait and wait and wait for their food too. - Not one person took any of our finished plates - Had to get up and go inside to get our check. Couldn't find Jennifer. ***2 stars for the view and food quality*** It was our first and last time eating here. We are local and won't be back.

Nice ambience. The rustic indoor dining area is spacious and clean. They also have outdoor seating on the dock overlooking the intracoastal waters. The staff is friendly and we adored our server who was attentive and quick! We started with delicious crispy fried pickles. I ordered the Platter of Two: fried shrimp, fried clams, and a side of fried green beans. Perfect, crunchy crust with tender, juicy seafood. It's very filling and satisfying. Also ordered a side salad that was fresh and crisp. My husband really enjoyed his Fried Shrimp Sandwich. Same crispy crust with tender, succulent shrimp. Don't pass on this jewel of a restaurant!

The service was good here, however, we just did not love the food or the atmosphere. The dining area felt like a brightly lit pool hall. We started with stuffed mushrooms. They were good, small but tasty. Our dinners - fried clams with onion rings, over fried, the clams were chewy, did not taste fresh at all. The Caesar salad was ok, the blackened shrimp were plentiful. We ended with a key lime pie which was actually good, not too sweet.

    So peaceful and relaxing

The food is delicious and the wait staff are great at what they do. They have indoor or outdoor seating and the view is spectacular. You won't be disappointed

Blackened scallops, broccoli and zucchini fries.

If I had to choose one thing restaurant to eat at for the rest of my life, it'd be JMs on the Water. Their blackened scallops are unmatched. Every time I order scallops at a restaurant, these from JMs are the standard to which I compare. They are so dog gone delicious. We ate here as a party of 6 and we all had nothing but great things to say about the food, service, and the view of the sound. Also two lemon drop martinis will absolutely get you where you need to be. Counting down the days until we can come back!

Sooo I have mixed feelings about this place. The food was good and it's a nice outdoor seating on the water. Pull your boat right up dock, eat and drink... we had the crab claws, fried pickles, wings, tacos, a burger and one other thing. Like I said the food is good. The siracha slaw is so good. Potato salad is meh.. they say it's homemade but it tasted like it was from a bucket of Costco potato salad. We also had a mermaid water and the breakfast shot. Both tasty. Nooooow the service. Super slow. Our server spent a lot of time talking to her co workers and random tables. Ok fine I can deal with that however I had 4 kids and 2 adults I've never in the history of life (I'm a chef and have managed several restaurants across the country. I've also been to many many restaurants in the world and never in my life taken my kids and been charged for a party of 6) anyway I was charged gratuity.... I always tip higher than 20% but the service was NO WHERE deserving or worth the gratuity they charged. I will never go back for that simple reason. The service was NOT up to par for a 20% gratuity. We waited for our drinks to be refilled. They were filled once!!!! ONE TIME. We were never asked how our food was. We waited 30 minutes for boxes I got up and went inside to ask for boxes and our check. If I was just reviewing the food I'd give 4 stars....

It's more like a bar with food. Nothing was great, all Fried, service was sub par and the ambiance is again, like a bar and dirty.

These had large chunks of back fin crab meat, and full of flavor. I had their soft shell crab, and it was done perfectly - lightly coated and fried. The crabs were tender and juicy, full of flavor. My dish came with fried green tomatoes that were crispy and tasty, and a healthy cut of cornbread. The cornbread was the best I've had - yeah, I said that twice, and I've been around. It was just the right touch of moist sweetness and full flavor. Delicious! We sat overlooking an inlet with several boat docks, including one for Sears Landing if you happen to come by boat. It was a beautiful afternoon, and as we ate we could watch boaters come and go. Nice setting. We'll be back.

The crab cake was seasoned and well-balanced. The tartar sauce was a great complement, tasting fresh and homemade. I only ate half my bun along with all the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The sweet potato fries were waffle-shaped and crispy. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food and we had a few leftovers, which was taken in a to go box. It is not fine dining and has the sports bar vibe. It is a relatively small place and I recommend going on non peak hours in season. If you are into oysters, they have a great selection of both local and regional on the half shell. If you prefer cooked, chargrilled or steamed is a good choice. While the menu has a great selection of seafood, the chalkboard specials features extremely fresh local catches which change daily. While there are several restaurants in and around the topsail area this is the only one where I have never been disappointed. If you go at peak hours during the vacation season expect to wait but it is worth it. You can't miss with any of the steamed shellfish offerings and if you prefer fried there batter is light and not overpowering. As a sports bar, they have a large selection of tap and bottled beers and a good mixology of liquor options which is only outdone in my opinion by Rick's in Sneads Ferry

I could've asked the price upfront (and usually do) but what the heck... we're on vacation. The server suggested we get a "double" and share it. OK. Sounds good. It came out quick. There was a TON of food for two of us. Shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn. It didn't have a lot of seasoning also on it, but - no problem - there was a rack with every hot sauce you'd ever need, plus salt, pepper and old bay. We both ate our fill and even left a few potatoes. The bill comes and it's less than $40. It might be the cheapest great meal I've had in a long time. Or maybe it's the "greatest cheap meal" I've had in a long time... I don't know. Bar ambiance, but pleasant enough for families. Mostly high tables. It all seemed very nice.

That would've been fine -- but we ended up waiting an hour and 20 minutes with absolutely no updates or communication from staff. No check-ins, no revised estimate, nothing. By the time we were finally seated, we were starving and ready to order immediately. We came specifically for the crab legs, and as soon as my sister ordered them, our waiter casually mentioned he "thought" they might be out. He went to check... and confirmed they were completely out. To make it worse, the table next to us -- who checked in after us and were seated before us -- had just gotten the last of the crab legs. So after waiting far longer than promised, with zero communication, the one thing we came for wasn't even available. And the cherry on top was the fact that our waiter kept forgetting about us and we had to wait so long for the check. That's not just frustrating -- it's poor management. If you're running out of a key menu item, especially something as central as crab legs, that needs to be communicated to waiting guests. And seating later arrivals before earlier ones just adds insult to injury. We left extremely disappointed and won't be coming back.

When you walk in, it doesn't exactly scream "fish market" - as it took me a few minutes to even find the fish. The staff there that day (one person) was friendly, but when asked for suggestions of what was good "everything." The owner of the bar (of the same name) next door came by to hard sell his place. He wasn't wearing a mask, and I tried to interject that I wouldn't be coming by because my kid is too young to eat out around people - but he really didn't catch on. Sigh. I went on to get the shrimp and the red snapper. I paused trying to do the math on how much. The friendly bar owner then insisted I wasn't getting enough for "that many people" - and I should double it. I don't exactly know why I listened to him (I think I was just ready to go) - so I bought what he said. After a rather hefty bill. Getting home, I pulled out the fish and it was 2x what I needed. Sure enough, we had left overs. I don't know if you've ever microwaved left over red snapper - I don't recommend it. So - the interloper from next door brought down the score, but the shrimp was so good I can't imagine going less than 4 stars.
