Great resource for students. Not for staff…read more Staff can pay for memberships to the CoRec, but I no longer recommend it for staff. In the fall of 2025, something changed. The corec used to have a family locker room. The name of the family locker room has been changed. It is a small change, but indicative of the overall policies changing. In addition, the pool hours changed to be completely unusable for families. I used to give my son swim lessons at the co-rec, pools, but now, he cannot go because the pools are open at such weird times. Moreover, the pool workers are no longer friendly to families. When my son was 4, they let me take him in the hot tub for up to 5 minutes. It was a nice treat for my son after he did swim lessons. At 5 years old, they said he could stay for up to 15 minutes. I never let him go above 8 or 9 minutes out of caution. I was always with him. The last time I went to the co-rec, my son was 5 this fall, we got in the hot tub like normal. We were told to leave the hot tub because kids under 15 are not allowed. I pointed to THEIR SIGN hanging up that says 5 and up. They said, "I'm sorry that policy is changing. We are no longer allowing kids in the hot tubs." I said that we would stop going in the hot tub out when the sign and the website changed. Then I had 10 lifeguards escort us out of the pool area. My son was not loud or splashing or rambunctious in the hot tub. He was chilling and calm. Yet they insisted the new policy was no children at all. Shortly thereafter, they changed the pool schedule so families cannot use any of the pools. By changing the pool schedule to be unfriendly to families, they also make it significantly harder for students to use it as well. I stopped paying for the corec and take my son elsewhere to swim--places that are family friendly.

We went fishing at goose lake. Loved going there so many times for fishing, swimming, bike riding, picnics to name a small amount of activities there. So years later during the pandemic I forgot to send in the dues. Granted we had a discounted rate. I even said we will pay the full rate because I was so heartbroken over the fact that I screwed up and forgot to pay the dues. I contacted multiple people there about it. They would respond to my messages but would never respond after that. I still don't know why exactly we are not able to renew our membership. I'm no Karen lol but I don't know what to do anymore. I'm so sad that I screwed up my husband's membership and can't get anyone to tell me why. I can handle the reasoning Haha

They have camp sites for tent camping and also sites for RV camping and it is very well maintained. Check out joining. It is truly a wonderful place that we have some of our most wonderful family memories at. And the staff who work here and maintain the grounds are the best people you will ever meet.

Grounds are very clean. Campground Hosts are quite good at making guests feel less than welcome…read more We are 2 highly educated professionals who had 2 highly educated and productive friends come to eat dinner one of our 3 nights here. Staff (hosts, in particular) couldn't have been much more deplorable to us about it. We understand the policy, but there's a common decency to enforcing it in one's volunteer role (wearing a DNR hat). We're not loud. We respect other people, nature, and the place. Yet, there's 40' pushers with a jeep and 2 motorcycles who apparently don't have to abide by the same rules. When our guests did leave, the hosts thanked them for leaving loudly as they drove by. The campground was more than half empty, mind you. Sadly, we will think twice about returning if there are other options. If management values people coming here to camp on their vacation time, a close inspection of customer service might be a great way to approach that goal.

We came to Prophetstown State Park in the hope of continuing our Battle of Tippicanoe experience…read more I had assumed that there would be some historical memorial to the Indian settlement that had once been here - unfortunately other than a very small recreated Indian village there was nothing. This was extremely disappointing and it certainly isn't worth the entry free to just see the three mock Indiana buildings they have here. Assuming however that you agent coming here to see Indian related memorials, then this park is very cool. There are trails to hike - a working farm to visit - playgrounds to play in. Whatever you would normally expect in a State Park. So like anything else - do your research before arriving. I unfortunately did not.
