If you come here definitely get Adam to do your nails! Really nice guy but he really puts the time and effort in doing your nails. He'll make sure everything is perfect and even, unlike other salons where they just want you out of there asap. He even suggested that if i break any of my nails he would fix it for free! This is my go to place for pedicures as I only live a couple blocks away. I like the laid back atmosphere and that it is a small quaint salon. The major bonus is that they are super accommodating-I've called 30 mins after they are closed and they've let me come in for an appointment!! I always see different people for my shellac pedi but the same older lady gives me (and my awesome boyfriend who comes along) a 15 minute neck and shoulder massage for $20 each - love it :) read more

Tee and the girls are amazing. I've gone here a bunch of times for gel colour and it always lasts. Ive gone to other places that make it look wonky or uneven but never at Splashie. They do a fantastic job and always remember my friends and I's names. I recommend this place to everyone! read more

This place is amazing!! I've had shellac done quite a few times at other places and this place is head and shoulders above the rest. I got shellac mani and pedi done and 1 week on and I still have no chips AT ALL. This has never happened to me. My nails look as good as the day I walked out of the salon a week ago. I came here the other day for a gel polish manicure, having read the reviews and thought I'd check it out. I had an appointment set but had to wait about 5/10 minutes while they finished up with everyone else, which was fine it let me have time to pick a colour. Do not go to this place!! It was cheap but they cut me and now I could get an infection. Very unprofessional and pushy. I saw a baby cockroach on the table and when I let the 'nail technician' know she told me it was nothing (???). She sliced my finger open while filing my nail (deep and painful). And on top of everything made me pay before the service was complete. I felt obligated to give a small tip (I'm too nice) but clearly they'll need that $5 because their business is going down. It was my third and last time going there! Go somewhere else there are so many other options in Yaletown! I used to go to Varnish for biogel but switched to acrylic because I started wearing my nails longer. I will have to go back to Varnish!! Save yourself the pain and possible infection!! This place is garbage and everyone deserves better!!! I also just want to add that the first time I went to Splashie I saw Adam, and he was the reason I went back. I've come here several times but the last two experiences I had left me feeling quite unsatisfied and disappointed.I made an appointment online and received a message saying they would call or e-mail to confirm, but three days later, after not hearing back, I called to confirm and the lady who answered the phone was very abrupt and told me it was booked and hung up. I came in for a regular manicure and while I was picking out which color I wanted the lady who was to do my manicure was very impatient and rushing me when I was trying to decide, even though I arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. When I sat down for the manicure she was clearly in a rush (maybe they overbooked, I'm not sure) and my fingers had only soaked for less than 30 seconds on each hand when she shoved my cuticles back roughly, which hurt. She also cut my cuticles way too quickly and two of my fingers bled, which was made worse when she rubbed a cotton ball full of acetone on them. When she put the polish on she didn't put it over the whole nail (she left a gap in front of the cuticle) and I had to ask her to re-do a couple of nails because it looked like regrowth. After that she got nail polish on other parts of my fingers and left it like that and I had to ask her to wipe it with acetone. What really bothered me was that she was chatting with her co-worker, who was hovering right next to her and me and starting at me with a dirty look on her face and they were clearly talking about me in Vietnamese, which was really rude and was on-going throughout the entire process. When they realized I was aware of this they were both really fake-nice and tried to start a conversation with me, which was awkward and pointless. I will not be returning here as I come for a manicure as a treat and to relax, not to feel anxious and upset. read more

I have lived in Yale town for 2 years now and have been a loyal customer of Splashie Nail Salon and after the experience and horrible service i got this afternoon i cannot and will not recommend this business too anyone looking to get their nails done. They are not only rude but they have caused harm to my hands and as i write this i am in horrible pain and have multiple cuts under my nails and on my knuckles. When it comes to having clean tools it is a safety hazard if you do not and can cause serious ailments such as infection etc. It is not okay to leave someone with multiple cuts and bloody hands and call it a day. When "Cleaning" my nails instead of using clean tools she used her own finger nails which were coated in clear nail polish and i can attest to the fact that under her nails there lay dirt and i can only imagine what else. I cannot express what a horrible experience i had ! I will NEVER be coming back to Splashie Nail Salon EVER again. read more

I honestly have no idea how anyone could be satisfied with this nail salon, I have been to many and this is by far the worst. They try to jam pack as many people in for an appointment as possible and don't leave enough time to do your nails properly and patiently. They are very pushy and aggressive. Most places take 45 minutes to a full hour for a manicure and gel polish and my girlfriends nails took 15 minutes and they were messy, with gel left over her fingertips. I got half way through my appointment and asked the lady to stop, as she was yelling half way across the salon to the other nail technicians and not paying any attention to what she was doing and filing my nails very aggressively. read more

I am so surprised that this business has such a high rating. It's just your typical, utilitarian nail salon; the price is right (I paid $35 for a basic manicure with shellac polish) but you also get what you pay for - my polish started peeling just 4 days later. The service is dry - they are nice enough, but the women are clearly there just to get the job done. The atmosphere is just all-business, and having Judge Judy on in the background just adds to the low-end feel of the place. If you just want basic service from your run-of-the-mill nail salon and leave with a so-so feeling about the quality of service, then this is the place for you. read more

I recently moved to the Yaletown area and went to Splashie Nail Spa after it was recommended by a friend who lived in the area years ago. She had raved about the quality for the price and had even mentioned the good staff and management. Unfortunately things have vastly changed since she used to go here. I found the management to be rude, unhelpful, and completely dismissive about even simple questions. I had booked an appointment days in advance and my manicurist was late by well over 15 mins. In fact, she not even in the shop when I got there (on time), with no apology from the manager or coworker, who barely looked up at me before continuing their conversation with each other. They refused to get started or help get things going even though there were no other customers to deal with. Apparently this is a new owner/management now as the previous, terrific owner has moved. If you notice the reviews on here trending worse and worse, this is probably why. They are coasting on their old reputation. There are other, better options in this city! read more

Just terrible and so disappointed today! I almost cried! I'm a pretty simple and low maintenance girl, but when you are treated the way I was today by TEE and her staff, it really makes me wonder where did customer service go? I was rushed and upsold a pedi, not even the time to pick a colour! Then I wanted my old gels removed and simply a shellac nail finish! The fuss and muss and incompetence of TEE and her staff amazed me that they are still there in business. It wasn't my first time there, and I have even bought a GC and recommended it to friends but after today's experience I will never step foot there again. Very Very poor job on my nails and very poor treatment of customers.... unless you are a regular. The girl beside me was served before me and I had been there for 1/2 an hour, she got whatever she asked for and the staff was so sweet to her... Not a way to make comeback customers of those of us who can only go in when we can! I wouldn't even give this a star as first impression was rude and everybody was in a rush. I made a last minute appointment but still made one. I entered, told them I had an appointment but they didn't know who I was. Told me to choose my colour and wait. I didn't choose the basic service. I chose the deluxe because I didn't want the service that seems to be common here in the west end. In and out as fast as possible. I waited in one area then was told to wait in another. More relaxing, spa like, which I thought was a nice touch. A lady came in and talked to a another lady who was already with somebody in a hushed voice and looking at me. At this point it was going on 30min. So I went out and asked how much longer. She said 10 min. I didn't believe her and asked do you mean 10 or is it going to be 20? I realize my answer was cheeky but I made an appointment for this reason as I have limited time. You may or may not have better luck than me but I had full intention of making this a regular place as I'm looking for one. read more

Came in today for a pedicure instead of my usual place because it was a holiday and I will not be returning. I was in and out of the broken massage chair in less then 35 mins. They don't give you any room to let your polish dry, it's a rush to get you in and out so the next customer can come in and waste their money on their services.. The woman who answered the phone was nice and accommodating for my schedule and the woman who did my pedicure was as well but for $36.75 plus tip it's not worth it. It's not relaxing to feel rushed or when the all workers around you are in gaged in the same conversation in another language (very loud I might add) You are so close to my house, I really wanted to like this salon... went here just before new years for some fun nails. i rarely ever get fake nails but once in a while i indulge. well NEVER AGAIN. this place gave me WARTS!!! all over my fingers, especially around the nails! i have 8! they are big and hurt a ton! i have never had warts, except one once when i was a kid on my foot and my hands were fine, never had warts on my hands, then after i got these nails i suddenly had a TON. FUCKING 8 warts! clearly they dont properly sterilize or even wipe their equipment between clients, or even clean them at all. and they shouldnt even be doing nails on someone who has warts! i cant believe that tthey are so dirty and unprofessional! its been taking me months to deal with these warts, they are really hard to get rid of on your hands, they hurt a ton and are super embarassing! NEVER GO HERE!! i only gave it one star because zero isnt a chioce. read more

The first time was great. My shellac nails were done by a nice lady with short hair. She did an amazing job and she was very polite the whole time. I went in there the second time today for another shellac mani, the lady who did my nails needs a bit more customer service training, she didn't apologize when the grinder almost cut my skin and she stared at the receipt for a few minutes (to calculate the tips) before giving it to me without saying thank you. I do think 15% tips for an average job is enough. Ps, they use grinder to remove your shellac, I probably won't go back because of this and the odd customer service I received today. The reason I've given them three stars is their online booking is efficient and they do accommodate your needs. read more

I went to Splashie after reading a bunch of yelp reviews, thinking it would be a great experience. It wasn't.... I have been getting acrylic nails for many many years now, and have tried many many nail salons. I have a favourite one out in Surrey that does an AMAZING job--- the only problem is that it is out in Surrey, and I live in Vancouver. So I have tried many other ones in Vancouver trying to find the perfect one. Well splashie is NOT it... not only were they crazy busy when I went there, and had to wait a very long time (even though I had an appointment), but they did a horrible job. When the technician was doing my nails-- she kept burning me with the electric file-- yes, it has happened before, but not like this... every single nail she did, every single nail she burnt. I kept telling her, and she only laughed about it. She not only burnt my nails, but she cut me as well several times when she was removing cuticle from around my nail. The end result wasn't even good either! The shape was horrible, and she didnt do a good job of removing the previous acrylic color,-- so you could still see it when you looked at the bottom of the nail... Long story short, I was really disappointed and will never NEVER go back. I also got a pedicure done... which was subpar... read more

I couldn't believe that I went to that place! I looked up the website and saw that they had "En Vogue Gel", which is a gel like non-toxic gel nail material - I've had it for long, and I love it. So I called the place and want to make sure they provide the service - I was clearly told yes. So when I went, the nail tech helped me claimed that she has been working there for 15 years, but she barely speaks any English. She sounded extremely rude to me that everytime I asked any questions she cut me off and said "later, later"... Even when I questioned the material she used, because it was clearly powder and smells acrylic!!! I got so upset and talked to the manager (or owner), and she told me that they don't offer En Vogue anymore!!! And the reason why the nail tech said they did was because she didn't understand my question! So obviously they gave me Acrylic and charged me Gel!!! So frustrated and I warn everybody who plan to go to that place- they are liars and provided very bad customer service - be aware! read more

I got a full gel set here several months ago and they were wonderful. The total price came to about 70.00. I went to get my fill done but the girl who was supposed to do my nails was not able to come into work that day. I was told this over the phone after another employee checked the appointment book several times over and made a few phone calls before I spoke with the employee whose babysitter 'didn't show up. In my opinion they just forgot to write down the appointment. I came in several days later when I was able to but the service I got was not up to par of my last visit and the nails started chipping and separating within 7 days of my service. I came back one other time and the service was similar so I have chosen not to return. read more

Just had a pedicure here. Service was efficient and friendly. They did a excellent job and the price was great.

I prefer the nail technicians not to use the drill on my nails when I get a shellac colour change or manicure. It makes my nails weak and a would rather they use the nail file to buff off the top layer. When I made the request to my technician, she got quite annoyed and her attitude towards me changed. She called another technician to work on my nails and immediately went to work on another client in the salon. I had also asked to have my toes done - the technician working on my toes was polite, but then had to leave once I was in the process of letting my feet dry. The original technician then came back and checked my toes and told me I could leave. She helped both clients on either side of me put their sandals on and then left the room leaving me to fiddle with putting the arm rest up, and having to walk bare foot to where she has moved my sandals. It's a shame as this salon is very close to my home, but I will not being recommending them or going back there. read more

the price is really decent, this is the 2nd time i went to splashie for gel nail. First time i added some charms on my nail and it fell off on the 3rd day, but the whole set including the charms cost only about 55, so i wouldn't complain about that. I'm really happy with the set i did the 2nd time i went back, the lady did exactly what i want it and the whole set was done within an hour. read more

this place cares way too much about turning over chairs than the actual quality of their work and the customer experience. this was always my last resort place when all of the other favorite places were booked for the day. don't waste your time or money here - my crappy bumpy acrylics fell off after 3 days with very minimal use of my hands. very pushy and will scream things very loudly to get your attention like "GIRL!" in front of the entire packed salon. nightmarish. they will also swindle you and make it seem like you're getting a "deal" too for waiting an hour + to be seen (even though I called ahead and scheduled an "appointment") there's a reason they're never fully booked. there are plenty of other places in the immediate area that do amazing precise work and value the customer instead of the dollar. book ahead or wait the extra day and go to them. read more

The ladies here do great nails I have to give them that! But their time management is pretty bad. I think they say yes to everyone because they want to make a quick buck. Even if you have an appointment you're waiting past your appointment time for them to finish someone else. I call to make an appointment and get there around 10 minutes to early. So I wait. Time passes and I end up waiting 25 minutes past the time of my appointment. I decided to try getting my lashes done there because A) I was sitting next to a girl that just got hers done and they looked good and B) they were a bit cheaper then the place I usually go to. Thought I'd try my luck. I should of ran for the hills after I asked her were she learned how to do lashes. All she said was "here" as in this nail salon as in self taught?. Anyways. She proceeded to tape my bottom lashes down with regular everyday scotch tap. Pushing into my eye balls while she stuck the lashes on my skin. She gave me a mini fan to dry them and when my eye keep watering and lifting the tap she would tell me not to touch and squished it back under my eye. She glued some of my bottom lashes to the top ones and had to rip them apart. Yeah they looked good but my under eyes were burning from the tap. The lashes we're pretty thick not light and fethery like what im used to. Whenever I shut my eyes tight I could feel the lashes that were glued to my skin poke back into my eyelids. I lasted about 24 hours until they started falling out and couldn't stand them anymore. Moral of the story is DO NOT GET LASH EXTENSIONS DONE AT NAIL SALONS! Especially this one! The price wasn't that much different in the end. Spend that extra buck for someone to make you feel relaxed and safe while your eyeballs are in their hands! read more

My daughter and I have been clients at Splashie Nail Spa for some time now and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Tee (the owner) and her staff have always been courteous and professional. Both of us get mostly go there for gel polish and manicures but my daughter has gone for pedicures and has also had eyelash extensions applied. I can only go once a month and my polish always lasts for the entire 4 weeks with either no chipping (or very little in the final days before I go back). I get so many compliments on my nails always! They have quality polishes with many colours to choose from and the prices are very reasonable. When my daughter got her lashes they were gorgeous! The lady who did them did an awesome job! Her lashes were so thick and full. I have tried other places just to see what's out there and keep going back. I just got my nails done today and I am so happy. I will always go back! read more

i went to this place on Sunday. and my pedi was very bad. | had a new girl did it for me ( i think) and it had happen to me twice ( having new girl took care of me) and i was really disappoited.
