I've never had a pool before, and in my first experience owning one a good pool maintenance man is extremely helpful. Dave is thorough and knows his stuff. He is also conscientious and trustworthy. He comes and goes, leaving no trace, so I wonder if he really did come! However, our pool stays at just the right ph balance, so he obviously did! When I moved down here and began using him, initially he did both the cleaning and the chemicals, but since then we have begun taking care of the cleaning ourselves, leaving the chemicals to him. (I only did that to be better homeowner and take a little more responsibility myself, he originally did a wonderful job). This guy is a scam. Started our service 3 months later raised the price on us. Started coming very early in the morning which I told him wasn't good but come anyway. Said he was fine with dogs, meet mine no problem, then abuptly quits on me because of my dogs. What a 2 FACED LIER and very unprofessional just quitting on no notice. Well, next day got a new pool service, cheaper, same time day every week, interacted with my dogs no problem. The best part after checking my pool said ph was low, the pool cartridge was never checked or replaced, which should of been Stay far away away from this guy. I started this guy's pool service the 1st week of June, 2017. Seemed like a nice guy, then he stops showing up and algae starts growing! He claimed he showed up as agreed, but there is ZERO chlorine in the pool and all other chemicals are low or zero. He blamed me because I took my pool vac out one day while swimming! Really??? I fired him and he said, "Awesome". He comes off as an amiable guy...a church going guy, but he lied about servicing my pool AND kept my money! If I could give less than 1 star I would. I'll be suing him in small claims court for the missed visits and my cost for chemicals. Hire at your own risk...better yet, don't even hire him! read more

Very disappointed with the service by Splish Splash... Used Dave for about 5 months (from April to August of 2018). Quality of cleaning of pool walls was rarely satisfactory. I had to call him on a couple of occasions because for poor cleaning quality. Once because the pool was not cleaned on the scheduled day and another because green algae was growing on the walls. He suggested the solution was to have me spend more money on additional chemicals... The last time I called about the walls not being properly brushed (yellowish-green slime was growing on the pool wall plastic intake drains), Dave decided he did not want to service my pool anymore. I thought it discourteous to leave me without service at the end of the summer when most pool cleaning outfits are too busy to start a new service - oh well... Splish Splash was not rude and they were willing to not do the pool over the winter when I cover it to save on electricity. Their price, however, was on the high side for a small pool (approx. 14,000 gal.) - about 16% more than the previous service I was using (not available due to pregnancy/ maternity leave). I never had anywhere near the issues I had with Splish Splash with my previous service. I would reluctantly agree to use Splish Splash for balancing of the chemicals at best. I would not recommend Dave nor Splish Splash for pool cleaning service - you can do a better cleaning job on your own. I feel some reservation because Dave is somewhat older - but, in all honesty, if he commits to do a job he should do it properly or not take on the responsibility if he's going to rush it or not do it well. read more
