First of all, I want to start this review by stating that I did not get to attend this tour because I was late (which I will admit) but I am still giving one star due to the rude staff member who worked at the starting location of this tour. On Saturday, the 21st, four of us were scheduled to go and do this tour and we were extremely excited. After dealing with the atrocious Seattle traffic and terrible parking situations down by the pier I was already very frustrated. Our party arrived at the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop at 7:04 for our 7:00 pm tour and asked the worker where the tour meets to which the rude worker just replied under their breath, "they left" and returned to work.I explained that I understood we were late but were hoping we could catch up with them. I asked that same worker where the tour meets and they said, "In a big group outside" and continued to work. While we were on the pier in Seattle this information was not helpful. Trying to salvage the night, we went outside and tried to walk around and look for a "big group of people" on the crowded Seattle pier on a Saturday night. After a few minutes I went back inside he shop frustrated and asked the worker if they could find someone that was actually helpful that could answer some questions. With some reluctancy this person called their accommodating manager who explained that the tour heads to the right and described exactly what the tour guide was wearing. Ultimately we were unable to catch up with our tour guide because of how much time was wasted with this worker who was unwilling to help us at all. Again I understand we were late, but stuff happens. This place needs to hire people who have customer service skills. read more

Found a Groupon and thought we'd give it a whirl. I've been on the Underground Tour before and thought this might be a different perspective. First off, the Groupon was a nice deal, however the reservation process was a bit challenging. You must reserve a minimum of 48 hours in advance. And they are closed Tuesday& Wednesday in slower months. I followed the directions and emailed my request in for a Thursday 6 pm walk. (Friday and Saturday were unavailable for Groupon) Apparently I put the incorrect Groupon code so received an email requesting correct code. After another email, I was confirmed. The emails are a bit overwhelming and require you to read all rules and stipulations regarding cancellation policy..and I imagine they were created because of multiple problems with third party discounts, but I suggest perhaps toning down the big print and bold highlights to a more tourist friendly approach as it was a tad off putting for a first impression. So, all Groupon issues aside, we arrived at the address provided a half hour early (always better to be early than late!). There are multiple parking lots available throughout the address, as well as metered street parking. As a disabled person, I was able to find a spot right in front with a placard for free. We walked down a steep stairway into a very fitting dungeon like storefront. We were greeted by a friendly lady who found our reservation and said we could walk about the DEATH MUSEUM until 6 when our tour would meet just to the right of the counter. There is a small gift shop with mostly local products. The museum has some interesting information and displays that reflect all aspects of death, from embalming utensils, death masks, photos of deceased, mourning attire, coffins, hair embellishments and more. Nice touch. At 6 we met in the pews, and were greeted by our tour guide, Graham.. A "portly" (lol) gentleman with a charismatic presence. He spoke with enthusiasm and provided recordings, pictures and videos throughout the tour. The walk itself is easy. The tour is 90 minutes and only covers a few blocks of Pioneer Square. There are several sets of steep stairways that are part of this tour. It is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. At the end of the tour we were aka to walk through their own "underground" in the dark with flashlights they provided. This was pretty cool. I really am intrigued by the whole underground here in Seattle. I did enjoy the tour, and our guide was great.. However I felt like there wasn't a lot of substance. I have done the UNDERGROUND TOUR below, so I am a little familiar with Seattle's history and I would have liked to hear a little more area history and visited more buildings. This is not a HAUNTED TOUR. There is no-one jumping out at you or spooky sound effects. This is a tour based on evidence and local stories and lore of paranormal experiences. You can be a believer, a skeptic or a non believer.. You are given the facts, the stories, the lore and evidence and you can form your own opinion. All in all it was a good PG intro to the world of yesteryear in Seattle. I hear there is a pub tour for adults only and think this may have been a better option, however it was not available through the Groupon. Overall..skip the Groupon and book an adult only tour. Bought a groupon and I emailed right away and got in on my desired time slot...first time in Seattle and I went full solo tourist...tours, city pass, eating everything in sight. I love anything spooky so I really enjoyed hearing about the history of Seattle especially the spooky history. Anita was a great tour guide and answered all your questions. The whole tour area isn't that big ,but in each area she stopped at she's play audio and/or show us video clips on her iPad. It was my last full day in Seattle and was trying to decide how I'd end my night here. I remembered seeing this ghost tour on tiktok and right away I booked tickets. The tour started much later in the evening so bring a coat! We got there a little early so we were able to browse the museum, which was fairly tiny but interesting. Our tour guide was Kim and she was a joy to be around. She really knows how to tell a story and keeps you involved in the tour. (Listening to evps, watching videos, asking questions) Our tour group was small but it made the whole experience feel much more personal. We walked all around Pioneer Square and visited haunted locations. My favorite stop was at the "Merchant Cafe". We actually entered and sat in their underground lounge. It was very spooky and took a few pictures to see if I could spot anything. The whole tour was made even spookier by the actual buildings around us. The mixture of older historical buildings and closed/abandoned buildings. Beware it is rundown and many homeless people but they keep to themselves. And I also felt something push my back during one of the stops. The guide was telling us about a specific spirit that was known for being "grabby" with women. Booked a Spooked in Seattle Ghost Tour for Halloween night for a nice *spoopy* activity for the SO and I. It was a fun walking tour where we learned of the ghostly occurrences around Seattle. Their HQ is located along Cherry and you have to step downstairs to get to their lobby. Inside there are tons of paraphernalia pertaining to death and the paranormal, etc. We actually got there right as a lovely couple exchanged their vows in front of a couple of skeletons dressed in all black... so awesome. Tammy was our guide and she was dressed in the coolest outfit - one fit for a mourning woman back in the days where widows had to wear black for like two years straight. She told us stories about five spots around Pioneer Square as well as tidbits around Spooked HQ. She carried around an iPad and a bluetooth speaker to show us video and audio when applicable. Overall a pretty neat experience! I didn't feel too scared but I did learn a lot! Definitely try this tour out if you haven't! read more

Coming from a country that thrives on it's ghost stories and paranormal activities, I was so stoked to see what my new town had to offer me. My friend and I decided that we should do something spooky, in celebration of October coming up! Needless to say Spooked in Seattle provided that and much more. Our guide was Anita, who was approachable, friendly, filled with information and spoke very well. She was able to educate us on Pioneer Square's history while keeping us on our toes. I really appreciated that a lot of her stories came from reliable sources. It makes Pioneer Square all the more eerie and exciting. I understand that if you're a seasoned paranormal explorer, this tour might be tame for you, 'cause I was only a bit spooked. Because I love educational tours and was trying to get mentally prepared for October, I really enjoyed myself on this tour. If you love knowing about your city's history, and a good dose of the paranormal, then this is your spot. It was my second time being underground (did the day tour a couple of years ago) and this is a totally different experience. As a person that has a high interest in the paranormal field, I definitely wanted more after the tour was over. Our guide, Aten was superb. He had a great amount of knowledge about the history of Seattle and he also was willing to answer any questions of the guests. His quick wit and his way of making us feel like he loves what he does. He's also good at improv it seems, he can make a good joke about anything unexpected. On a side note, it would be nice if they can filter out intoxicated guests as it really ruins the experience to some people. Aten did a really great job on keeping the crowd together and answering questions, even if the questions are straight up stupid. Definitely doing this again, only hopefully with a sober group this time around. Looking forward to the Tacoma ghost tour and the Bremerton one. I loved it! Brought my dad here and we had a great time. We had Kim as our tour guide and she was amazing in her tour. Learned some things about Seattle's past that made me see Seattle in such a different way. Some proud and some like...now that sounds like a blast in a nightmare! The website can be a bit tricky to navigate through, but it is well worth the time to read and slow things down a bit. Like every city's past, I don't find it hard to believe that there were many challenges faced back then. It probably would have been much worse if fb was around back then...so it's good there's a waiting time before they released it. I'd say the tour is good for kids with Kim because things weren't too graphic or she gave a chance to avoid anything gruesome if it wasn't wanted to be seen or heard by any guests. Plus she has a great sense of humor that she easily adapts to and runs with. I was glad to see that no props or actors were used to scare anyone and they kept it professional and factual. read more

Well I'm always a fan of ghost stories. So when I saw this while exploring Seattle I thought this would be a fun way to pass time and learn more about this city. Just note this is NOT a haunted house or anything. There isn't anything scary except the story and the videos/audios the tour guide plays. And when I say video/audios I mean whatever they show during the tour on an iPad. So it's creepy but definitely not scary. We had Anita as a guide and she was wonderful. She pretty much convinced me never to play with a oujia board ever so that's good. I only hope they get better mic systems cause I had trouble hearing my guide once in a while especially when we outside on the streets. I really enjoyed the tour and Anita was a wonderful guide! Bought tickets for me, my brother, his girlfriend, and her daughter for this tour on line over 2 weeks ago. I took a vacation day, have spent hours on the road since I live 5 hours away from Seattle in good weather, and spent over 100 bucks on a hotel that is non refundable just to have them text me when I am over half way there and tell me they are canceling the tour because it's to cold for them to be outside for 90 minutes. Their site says dress for the weather, rain or shine. I dressed for the weather and wasted my time and money because they couldn't do the same. The tour was entertaining and educational and I'd recommend it! You definitely get a feel for the Pioneer Square area, a quick stop to the underground and then the Museum of Death. The tour guide was funny and knew the area well. I was a little disappointed that there weren't more specifics on the "hauntings" and that it focused more on what "would have led" to ghosts rather than this person did this thing and now people see her. We booked this tour by using a Groupon deal. The guide was really fantastic and clearly loves his job! He is a paranormal investigator and told us so many stories about the dead, the undead and all the spooky history and events that happened to our lovely little city way back in the gold rush era and long before it became the metropolis we all know today. You start in their "office" which is part of the underground itself and full of seriously old and creepy/fun things to look at, read and explore. The death museum is located at the same place and part of our tour was in that area. We planned for rain but in case you don't, they offer free umbrellas and flashlights for the extra dark and scary places. This tour spoke of death, murder, prostitution, drugs & alcohol so if you bring your kids, keep that in mind. I can't say enough GREAT things about this tour. read more

Coming from Los Angeles and it being our first time in Seattle, we thought this tour would be very fun and informative! We found it difficult to get ahold of the front desk, so we just ended up walking in to get our questions answered. Down a steep flight of steps into an "underground" area, we were greeted by the staff here and we're able to set up a 6:00 tour. While we waited, we were easily occupied by all the cool stuff around the place. Lots of things to get you excited about what was in store. All the cool creepy things definitely got me in the spooky mood. The staff was also able to help us with any further questions we had.. Moving on to the tour, we had a great tour of pioneer square and all kinds of cool stories and historical information about Seattle. To end the tour, we went to a dark, humid, creepy area of the tour place and got to listen to some audios. i highly suggest this tour. its very organized, packed with info about not only the dark souls that lurr around pioneer square but also the history of the city. it lasts almost 2 hours, but felt like 10 because it moves so quickly and smoothly. our guide was fun, playful. and you can tell she was informed about her stuff very well. starts out st 6 PM and ended close to 8. i cant remember our tour guides name, but she had short reddish hair, she was fun and i highly suggest her as a guide! would book another tour with this group next time im in seattle. read more

It's alright. Me, wife, and the three larvae ages 6-13. We took the 7pm tour. The haunted tour starts off at the Death Museum. The museum kinda looked like something a hard core Halloween enthusiast would do to their garage. Plenty of skeletons, coffins, creepy looking dolls and whatnot. Nothing over the top. Our guide was informative and regaled us with ghostly stories from Seattle's past. You will visit numerous places that have had ghostly happenings as you walk around the Pioneer Square area. The tour ends up back at the museum. Unfortunately, we didn't see any ghosts. I thought I saw one in the museum bathroom, but it was just a creepy looking dude. Probably the scariest part of the whole tour was getting jammed up by the numerous homeless people in the area. When we returned to the museum, which is below deck (old town Seattle style), it musta been about 85 degrees with 100% musty humidity down there. The moldy musty-ness (not sure if that's a word, but you get it) was so thick, that my wife had to escape. It was bad. The tour is watered down enough that none of the kids were traumatized. There are chances to take a restroom break during the tour. On an end note, we returned to our car which we had parked in a cheap pay lot right across the street. Found that we still had a good 3 hours left on our ticket. So, I gave the ticket to a lady who was seated in her car right next to us. As I handed her the ticket, I observed that she was doing her make-up and was rather scantily and scandalously clad. Now, I'm not one to assume or make one-off judgements on peoples' career choices, but I am fairly certain I had just supported the world's oldest profession in some fashion. read more

The Pioneer Square tour is a wonderful walking tour and history lesson! It wasn't really creepy or scary, which was what one little girl in the group was expecting, but it was... real... and I really enjoyed learning the bits of history that I haven't heard from any other source. My favorite was probably the story about the politician that used to have an office in what is now the Arctic Club Hotel. I was also pleased that we got to step inside the hotel, because the interior was even more impressive than what I had imagined. Most of the tour takes place outdoors and there is a bit of walking involved (some uphill), but I enjoyed it, and the walk was definitely not hard. I also really appreciated that Ross (the tour guide) had an iPad handy to show some pictures, videos, and let us listen to some sound clips. It's so much better than just carrying around print-outs, and very nice to have a visual/audio aid instead of having everyone image everything. He was also very knowledgeable and an entertaining guide. (He may have confirmed his statements with a "Yeah" a few too many times, but we all have our quirks. :)) Heads up: Get there at least a little early! Based on my experience, this is a tour that starts ON TIME. I'm thinking about checking out their Haunted Pub Tour next! Also, this tour made me realize that I *need* to grab a drink at the downstairs bar at Merchant's Cafe! I was sad that the bartender shut down that bar right after our group arrived. read more

This is my first time in Seattle and I found this deal with my friend on groupon. Once you get inside the building you really get the feeling you're in like a horror movie or in dracula's dungeon. They had some pretty cool artwork from local artists, but it was a little expensive. They have some gifts as well, but nothing super interesting. The furniture and overall set up was what really caught my eye and got me in the mood to hear scary stories about Seattle! Adrian was our tour guide and he was amazing! He had some much information and had a way of keeping us engaged. He did a great job of making sure we Could all hear him from any vantage point. The tour was also small enough that we didn't have to fight for prime real estate to hear/see anything. I learned a lot about Seattle and the history of some of the best local spots. The tour is walking so make sure you wear comfortable shoes, he said about 5 blocks, so it wasn't bad at all. We did go inside u set ground tunnels a little bit and that was very cool. I highly recommend this tour if you're new to the city or even locals who want to learn more about the city. This is NOT a ghost hunting adventure, so don't expect that. What you can expect is an interesting tour learning about the history of Seattle and it's hot spots. The only negative thing is that I did see plenty of rats, so if you're terrified of rats like I am be warned. But what can you expect in the big city :) read more

Spooked in Seattle is NOT the cheesy, try to scare you to death, type tour. Instead it is an excellent history lesson of olden Seattle days filled with ghost stories. The tour takes you thru Pioneer Square and stops at historic hotels, alleys, buildings and restaurants. Our tour guide was Ross, a well known ghost hunter who has been on many tv shows. He showed us interesting photos along the way and even had us listen to recorded sound bits from ghost hunts. Was the tour scary? No. But was it interesting and give me chills? Yes! I was super stocked to go on this 2 hour ghost tour. I thought 2 hours seemed like a long time however it goes so quickly because it is so interesting and FUN! The museum part of it I will say would seem more real if they didn't put all the fake Halloween decorations, it kinda through it off and made it less realistic however it was a great tour and I would GLADLY do it again :) I definitely recommend if you are visiting. read more

I was late! It was my first day in Seattle, and had no idea how insane traffic could be in the city. Thankfully, a man met me at the front desk, and led my niece and me to the tour, which was already in progress. I may one of the few who will say this, but I was spooked.
