They do have good Blue and Marion Berries. This will be my last year buying from them. Last year I put my flats in the freezer and when I emptied them it was past season so I waited to apprise them of what I found in my berries. Imagine my surprise to find a greasy wrench socket IN MY FLAT OF MARION-BERRIES - I JUST PAID $37 dollars for. I saved the socket and took it back to the stand this year. The 2 women there were shocked and so very apologetic. They could not understand nor did I how a socket got buried in a the punnet basket of Marion Berries. They strongly suggested I leave my name and phone number for the owner to call and at the least apologize. Well I have waited all week and apparently they and I were wrong and the only ones that thought an apology was due. I have bought berries from Spooners for the entire 24 years I have lived in Lacey. Not that they will notice losing one customer or care because clearly they don't. read more

This is for their seasonal berry stand in West Olympia. The first fruit of the season, strawberries, were so sweet and juicy. Often we add just a touch of sugar but did not have to with this year's. Their pints are super generous. I think they are a bit over a pint each in fact. Very nice sales people at the stands too!!!! read more

Spooner Berry Farms is my go-to spot for delicious berries all season long. Their strawberries are some of the best I've ever had, and I ended up purchasing so much from them this year! I do notice they tend to go bad more quickly than regular store-bought, so keep that in mind when determining how much you want to buy at one time. But they never last long in my house! read more

Wonderful farm. We got a lot of delicious blueberries here. It was fun to pick. They provide you with buckets and you pay when you are done. It wasn't crowded when we went on a Sunday late afternoon. It gets pretty hot and there aren't many shaded areas on the farm so wear sunscreen and a hat. They have only Porto potties which are not that bad. But be prepared that you might have to use a Porto potty. We got deliciously sweet and large blueberries here. It was a fun outing!!! read more

I bought a flat of strawberries yesterday to freeze for the year. I ate a few as I went along and realized quite quickly that they were not ripe. I probably ate 1 carton and not 1 tasted ripe. No sweetness and very little flavor. I threw out 1 entire carton because they were so hard and green that they were not worth keeping. Honestly, the strawberries we buy for the granddaughter at Costco in the winter taste better than these did. Which is sad. I will most likely throw the ones I froze away. Last time going to Spooner for me. Very disappointed. read more

Super reasonably priced blueberries - just $2.95 a pound. It's a bit of a trek out there, but it's well worth it! There are SO MANY berries! We left with a huge box. Things to know: They do take cards, but cash is preferred. Lots of loose dirt - be prepared to get dirty! There is a porta potty onsite with water to wash your hands. They have a big jug of drinking water and cups. Later in the season, they'll have marionberries for picking. read more

First time going to spooner's for blueberry picking with my kids, sister in law and nephews. PLEASE KNOW THERE ARE MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. We drove to the farm that was on Yelm highway towards olympia but the berry picking is on Yelm highway towards Yelm. We did have to back track but didn't mind at all. The kids really enjoyed picking and it's a good price! 2.25 a lb! Can't beat that. I plan on taking the kids for more picking! Besides picking, I do go to the stands to get raspberries, Marion berries and blackberries when they are in season. Always such good quality berries that my one year old can go through them in a week! I buy extra to freeze as well. read more

Berries are raspberries, blueberries, and Marion berries which are like gigantic blackberries. Skip the fast food drive thru and go for the local healthy berries instead! Sour strawberries (?). We wanted two boxes and when we got to the car, we dug in and they were sour, even though they were very red (as in expecting sweet strawberries). "The darker the berry, the sweeter the juice" did not hold up today and an otherwise posituve roadtrip/ shopping experience turned SOUR. But! They are very helpful and kind PEOPLE! We got a bunch of other stuff there and hopefully everything else we bought is okay! The place is charming. We actually really enjoyed this place. read more

I've been here twice this year and really enjoyed it. The first time the family went for u-pick strawberries. We went on the first day the fields were open and they were bursting with berries (just watch out for those stinging nettles!). The prices were certainly better than buying them at the store, and much higher quality too. And then recently, we stopped in again for a 1/2 pint of marionberries. They were huge and plump and cost $2.50. We'll definitely continue to go to Spooner Berry Farms in the future. read more

After purchasing some plants at the farmers market, the booth next door happened to be Spooner Farms. I had overheard the girl working say that the strawberries were picked that very morning. We bought a pint of strawberries for 2 dollars. That may have been the best 2 dollars I have ever spent, as the berries were the freshest, juiciest, most delicious strawberries I have ever put my lips on. They were soooooo good! They were intensely red and perfectly sweet with a teeny bit of tart in them. Apparently they have lots of little stalls set up in random parking lots around Olympia, but they always seemed to be closed because they sell out so quickly. Let that be a testament of how incredibly wonderful those strawberries really are. read more

What a charming and large farm located just off the side of Yelm Hwy. Get there early because their berries run out quite quickly...we were lucky to score half a crate at 10:30am. Their strawberries are definitely natural and the darker ones are sweeter. Our crate didn't have that many ripe berries yet but I appreciated the freshness of all 6 baskets. What I actually enjoyed the most and absolutely loved was their fresh honey. Light, golden and fluid, this was probably THE BEST honey I've ever tasted. And the best part is that Spooner harvests their honey from hives they maintain themselves, which means if you are local and have allergies like me, eating a spoonful of this local honey should help you with any seasonal allergies. I would ship a crate of this honey to all my family if I could - I love it so much I use it in my morning coffee as my sweetner! Will definitely be back for more! read more

We LOVE Spooner's strawberries! They are so good that we will no longer buy or consume any berries throughout the year except while Spooners are selling theirs. No longer am I dissatisfied with shipped in berries from Cali that look great but taste like a Sweet Tart. First off, this review is for the farmers' markets that Spooner Farms sells at. Evidently their policy is NO SAMPLES, NO EXCEPTIONS, PLUS WE'RE GOING TO BE SNOTTY ABOUT IT. I've been burned enough times by lackluster, flavorless fruit or fruit that's so overripe that it's mushy within an hour (yes, even from the farmers market) that I'd like to try just one berry before I commit to a half flat, or even a pint. When I was at the Proctor market last Saturday with a friend from the east coast, we inquired about a type of berry (loganberry) that we didn't recognize, and were ignored by the surly middle-aged woman at the stand. Fortunately, a customer within earshot helped us out. When my friend asked to try just one, as she'd never had or even seen them before, she was once again completely ignored by the same woman. I'll allow that SMAW was helping another customer at the time, sort of, but my friend didn't interrupt a conversation or transaction, and SMAW could at the very least have acknowledged her existence. She did not. I've been told flat out by other, nicer people at the stand that I can't try before I buy. I think this policy is ridiculous and I'm hereby boycotting Spooner in favor of other, friendlier fruit booths. read more

Really good strawberries! I get them at the farmer's market or at the stand in the grocery outlet parking lot (2100 Harrison Ave in Oly). They sell out fast at the stand so make sure you go fairly early.... I believe the price is $2.50-3 per pint. read more

Spooner's just completed their 2017 berry season at their Wedgwood stand in Seattle. We stopped by last Friday morning, turned in our last empty flat, and bought a flat of scrumptious blueberries. It's been a great summer for enjoying their strawberries, raspberries, marionberries, blackberries and blueberries! This makes somewhere over 25 years that Joanne and I have enjoyed these berries both fresh and frozen. When we buy a full flat, we put half in a big bowl we keep in the fridge, and put the other half in gallon zip plastic bags for the freezer. This extends our enjoyment of Spooner's best berries into fall and winter. We finished our freezer stash in December. Now we have to endure on store-bought berries until June! read more
