I have been to a different Spooner location on several occasions, and they have always been great. My recent visit to this location, a bit closer to my home, was no different. I had injured my left foot while exercising on my treadmill at home, and Spooner got me in right away once I realized that I would need a physical therapist. I was assigned to Emily, who is as fantastic, professional, and helpful as every other Spooner therapist has been with me. She knew what she was doing, and I progressed so well that I was discharged earlier than expected. My wife has also had fantastic therapists at this location, so I highly recommend coming here if you have need of their services. A tip: The dedicated entrance to the Spooner facility is on the south side of the office building, so you'll want to park in the parking lot between the building and the freeway. Spooner has a few marked spaces in front of the sidewalk that leads to their entrance. It may not look at first like an entrance you can use, but it is. While I believe you can also access their suite through the hallway leading from the main entrance for the building, that's usually a long unnecessary walk--and depending on your injury, you might appreciate less walking. :) read more

I started coming here 18 weeks before Honolulu Marathon and Sean (my physical therapist) told me I should be able to run a full marathon by then. His word on the first day I visited gave me a hope and I really kept up with homework he gave me daily. I just finished my race yesterday. I had to wear my ankle sleeve during and after the race for my pain but I did it. Finished faster than my goal time. I cannot thank him and the entire staff enough for helping me get where I am today. I learned how human body muscle works from Sean. It was very educational. He took time to explain each time I asked questions. Over 18 weeks, I ended up coming here 14 times. Each time I came, Sean instructed his assistant (Tommy first then Peter) to make it more challenging. Sean understands athletes mind and really helped me get better. Tommy was funny and helped me ease into this physical therapy routine. Peter was quiet at first but once we got to know each other, he showed his caring side and was easy to work with. Front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. I hope I never have to come here but those who need physical therapy, I highly recommend this place for a chance to work with great physical therapist teams. read more

Great physical therapy place. Came here after hip replacement to get stronger. My hip did get stronger with the exercises but my foot drop didn't. I liked when I had heather because she did more exercises with me and exercises that can help me in my daily activities. Everyone's nice. This location has more equipment then other locations, so you can work on more things. read more

This place is the very best of the best when it comes to physical therapy. Everyone is so nice, professional and the clinic is full of experts on therapy and rehabilitation. I have a lower back and hip issue from years of high level sports. Kory Straine, PT, DPT and Heather Gibson, PT, DPT have turned a very painful situation into a chance to learn my body all over again. From the heating, massage, icing, stretching and PT exercises, I have more hope than ever in getting my physical health back. Looking forward to the day I can run or exercise again with minimal pain. If the owner here did one thing great, he/she hired an unbelievable team of caring experts and should be very proud. I have a bad shoulder. I have been working with Ryne and now with Alyssa. They are awesome. PT stands for pain and torture and Ryne is a muscular guy and he went to town on my partially frozen shoulder to get my range of motion back. They have a really cool program with Alyssa doing personal training. She works with you to get you in shape. Part of the deal is access to the facility during all open hours. That is a nice option as you can go in anytime and work out. Ryne will be walking by and correct what I am doing as I am working out on my own. The facility is well equipped. The space is spacious. The staff members are friendly, competent and care about you. It is making a huge difference in my health. read more

Let's face it, the older you get, the more apt you are to have a need for PT. I have been referred for two different issues and while I can't say I looked forward to my sessions with the "Mistress of Pain" they did (or made me do) what was necessary to recover. They were encouraging, patient and were aware of when I reached my pain threshold. I've dealt with several therapists and their assistants and actually liked everyone (after I finished treatment! :) ) Appointments were easy to make and I was taken in on time to loosen up on the dreaded stationary bike. While I hope to not return, if necessary I would feel very confident in the treatment I would get. read more

Made a bad situation WORSE!!! It saddens me to give a poor review because there are some good therapists here however due to negligence and hiring a very young (high school??) and inexperienced assistant I suffered at the hands of Spooner physical therapy and the level of intimidation that was used against me and the employees once the error was identified ..... I can not recommend anyone go to spooner or at least go at your own risk. I only wish I had known sooner but because there are SO MANY EXCELLENT REVIEWS the negative ones actually blended in with the rest. I kept thinking that the young girl that had me do an exercise multiple times even though I kept saying tHat it hurt ... she looked high school age but I kept thinking there's no way she was THAT YOUNG until I found another review on another Spooner locatIons page that stated that they hire high school interns!!!!!! I have just completed a procedure called the Epley. It resets the crystals in your ears for the purpose of stopping dizziness. Let me tell you that Garrett of Spooner at Desert Ridge is the man to see. He is certified to perform this procedure and I have every faith in him. Within 48 hours after treatment I experienced absolutely NO dizziness! Yeah!! Do yourself a favor if you experience dizziness.....see Garrett! I did and I am thrilled! read more

The proof is in the pudding as they say! I had a bulging disc in my neck and bone spurs on both shoulders. Molly PT and McKenna technician are an incredible team! They worked with me and I was able to be discharged with no pain! After that successful treatment I developed tendinitis in both knees and I'm currently back at Spooner Desert Ridge for those issues and once again with their incredible expertise I will be released in a few weeks! Molly and McCanna are super patient and make sure that I do all the exercises properly. They ask questions to help assess what they need to focus on each week so they will know how to help me. They are fun to be around and I look forward to going twice a week! If you were looking for a great PT and technician there is no better team than the Molly/ McKenna team!! Started PT at another near by place, 'Select PT' on Bell after my first knee replacement, but after 3 weeks of less than stellar care- I stopped going. After my second knee replacement surgery I found Spooner. What a huge difference! Everyone is professional and eager to get me back to being myself. It's like the difference between a traveling carnival and Disneyland!!! Great facility, fantastic equipment etc. but none of that would matter if the staff isn't into it. Most of the folks that work here seem to be good people. However, after going to several appointments I am choosing NOT to return here. As a former law enforcement officer, special forces member and body guard to a former joint chiefs of staff chairman, I carry a handgun with me 100% of the time. Upon entering for my appointment today I was asked if I was carrying my handgun today. I was told that I can't bring it into the building any longer. I cannot and will not do business with a company that does not support our 2nd amendment rights. "The right of the people to keep and BEAR arms shall NOT be infringed." Our rights are being infringed on in this country on a daily basis. Stand up and defend your rights people! read more

I have had a wonderful experience at Spooner. I was hit by a car while walking in December and my general physician recommended I start physical therapy 3 times a week. My therapist at Spooner does an excellent job explaining the different things going on with my bones, joints, and muscles. I feel like I am in good hands and have seen much progress. I just completed 5 weeks of PT and I have to give a shout out to Garrett Wasson. My story is too long to tell, but suffice it to say that Garrett is the best! When you have to have therapy, it's important to work with a therapist who is empathetic, warm, caring, knowledgeable and excited to see you get better. Garrett is all of those and more! I've been here twice for two different therapies, one being sever's disease and the other was rehab after my sesamoidectomy. The staff is always friendly and extremely outgoing, which makes the atmosphere great. I had Lauren & Julian and then Kevin & Tiera as my therapists. After a series of injuries, as well as structural issues and arthritis in my spine, I knew it was time to go back into physical therapy. I asked friends who they would recommend, and most were so far. I called Spooner as I'd been to them before and had a good experience. I talked to the front desk and told them my issues. They recommended Jacob, who is also the manager of that location. Can I tell you how awesome this guy is? He is one of the smartest, most hard-working people I've met, and I'm lucky enough to have him doing physical therapy on me. This guy knows anatomy, and pulls out all the stops to ensure that I receive the absolute best experience every single time. All of the PTs here seem very professional, personable, and very tuned into helping their patients heal. Since going to him, I have improved significantly, and pain is considerably less.
