With utmost respect and gratitude - 5 stars. Funny how people always write "I'd give zero starts if I could." Well, let's even it out. This Spooner's would get 6 stars if I could. Honstly, I just love the view from the treadmill as the sun is setting over the mountains to the south. I also adore the care and character of all the staff who let me be my moronic self while they do their best to fix me. And let me tell you, I've been in P.T most of my adult life, so I recognize good care when I get it. I appreciate the bespoke programmes designed to mend me. I know Cassidy has listened to me and I feel the exercises working.....all this despite me having just told her a despicable story about something or other - takes it and dishes it back. So fun. I'm grateful for David. Tip top attitude and banter. Perfectly demonstrates exercises and corrects so they achieve maximum effect. I like that he laughs and encourages even though I faux vomit on myself. There's a ton of equipment. Something for everything. Again, I know when a studio is well kitted-out because I've torn most things, so have needed 'most things'. It's a busy place - and deservedly so. Be sure to book advance appointments for regular therapy. They'll take good care of you. I don't wish injury on myself - but if / when it does happen, I know who I'm calling first. Sincerely. James Beasley and Ethan were so encouraging and always asked how I was feeling before, during, and after my appointments. They helped me get back to where I wanted to be on a limited timeline. Go to this awesome location or any Spooner location if you want to get well and mobile, again! I no longer fall when walking or hiking, have no more pain in my neck, lower back, ankles and feet because of Spooner's fine, experienced and skilled people at this location. The view is awesome, also! I'd like to highlight the super competent, caring and professional therapists at this Spooner physical therapy location, 15th Avenue N of Camelback (NW corner 4 story building). I felt that I was totally in the right "hands" in minutes of my first appointment! I'm sure the other Spooner locations are just as competent. I felt totally cared for by every therapist, from welcoming staff and Therapist and assistants! I had four problems, neck, low back, right shoulder and ankles. These problems especially the bulging dicks in my low back mimicked heart problems but after 5 excellent heart tests with my Cardiologist that was ruled out. My right shoulder needed to be replaced but I said I was too active for that even though I had daily, serious pain...no cartilage in right shoulder, a spur and tendon tear. I asked for a Dr. Prescription for PT and that led me to Spooner. First appointment I met Aaron who did my initial assessment. He goes from location to location assessing patients and assisting therapists even though he was a PT himself. He introduced me to other therapists who would help me with my PT. I met every PT, assistants and welcoming staff and I can only tell you that even the two hand specialists I did not meet but observed were completely competent and cared about my or other's patients continued growth towards a no pain life. Here are the names of the wonderful, highly skilled and educated people who helped me to be able to walk and hike mountain trails without constantly falling, helped me to relax and strengthen my neck, lower back, ankles and helped to prevent a prescribed shoulder replacement. These awesome people...totally encouraging and competent Q/A Therapist Aaron, Manager Therapist Joey and Therapists Ankita, Valentine, Cassidy, Juan, Ethan, David, Edgar, Jame, Manny, Amarani, Brea, Sam, Jay, Veronica, Corina, Fernando and Tania made coming to my appointments to be a looked forward to experience! I observed but did not meet Sam and Tyler who are hand specialists. I was told they were just as skilled, caring and competent as everyone else. I really loved going to my appointments and worked hard to heal with all the encouragement. It was like having a family encouraging me on. Graduating from Spooner was a real event. As you can see I recommend them highly especially at this location. If I left out or misspelled any person at Spooner please forgive me you are all awesome! I came here following the onset of a specific health condition that apparently would require physical therapy. While skeptical, I went through with it as I trusted the doctor who referred me & I wanted to give myself the best possible chance at making a full recovery. The first session was more of an "interview" format which did not include ANY real/helpful process that would allow me to begin the road to recovery. I would ultimately spend $40 dollars for that visit (& ANY visit for that matter, since a "physical therapist" is considered a "specialist" on my plan & "specialist" visits are $40 dollars per visit). Next session, I did some "exercises" that yielded absolutely no relief/results, but I decided to stay the course, trust the process & remain patient. Again, I came out of pocket $40 dollars for THAT visit. Then I came back for the third (& what I now consider to be the FINAL) session, & I experienced the same thing; more "exercises" that yielded no results, & I ate the $40 dollars once again. It was at the end of this "third" session when things finally took a turn for the worst. At the end of that session, the doctor & I sat (FACE TO FACE) & scheduled my next appointment. MIND YOU; This was done before I left the building, & I placed this next appointment on my personal AND work calendars in real-time, AS WE SCHEDULED IT. Two days prior to that SCHEDULED appointment, Spooner sends a "reminder" text about my next appointment, but the date in the text was one day PRIOR TO the date we had scheduled, AND the time was wrong. Work was extremely busy that week, so I didn't see the text on the day it was sent; I instead saw the text the day PRIOR TO my scheduled appointment, but again the date displayed in the "reminder" text was showing as the day BEFORE the date we actually scheduled (which means that I was about to miss the "newly-rescheduled" appointment [& possibly be subjected to a $20 dollar "no-show" charge] unless I skipped work). On that morning (while I was still asleep), someone from Spooner called & left a voicemail to advise that I had an appointment scheduled for that day (which, again, was NOT the correct date that we had scheduled at the end of my last visit). I woke up a few hours after the time this voicemail was left, & once I was able to review it, I called in to advise that the scheduled date/time for my next appointment had somehow changed without my knowledge/approval (which should NOT have happened), & I attempted to reschedule it during that call only to receive nothing but pushback. The phone rep was unwilling to reschedule for the date/time we had originally scheduled (which was supposed to be that very next day), & she INSISTED that the doctor only had appointment times for 7:30 in the morning (no sooner than a week or so later). Rescheduling for a week or so later actually would have worked better in my case, as I was starting to feel pressure to schedule several visits per month (which would become a financial burden at $40 dollars per visit), but the TIME would have been a problem, & the phone rep offered no valid explanation as to how my doctor (who I had been seeing at/around 10AM during ALL THREE PRIOR VISITS) suddenly would only be available to see me at 7:30 in the freaking morning. After continuing to receive pushback, I advised that it looks like this wasn't going to work right now, & I advised that I'd just call back at a different time to try this again. Following the call, a week or so went by & I received another voicemail from Spooner (possibly the same rep) advising that they "haven't seen me in a while" & asking when I'd be rescheduling my next appointment. I attempted to call back & try this once again, only to reach their automated voicemail system (right in the middle of the day/during business hours). Their VM system (should you ever have the misfortune of dealing with it) advises the caller to push 8 to wait for a live person, only to continuously repeat itself after doing so (& then if you don't continue pushing 8 over & over again, it hangs up on you). After being hung up on by the system twice in a row, I finally selected the option to just leave a voice message, & I left a message advising them of the issue with their voicemail system. In that same message, I also stated that I was attempting to re-schedule my appointment hopefully at a time of day that worked better for ME (aka- the paying customer/client/etc.). In the end, my call was never returned, I finally realized that sometimes God puts red flags RIGHT IN FRONT OF US (for our own protection/well-being), at this point I'm realizing that I'm obviously not supposed to continue dealing with this place, & I have decided that its best for me to just move on rather than continue dealing with this level of unprofessionalism/incompetence. Good luck to all who have the patience to deal with what I dealt with, but my advice would be to look elsewhere unless you like having your time/gas/money wasted. read more

After a total knee replacement I needed physical therapy and landed at Spooner Phoenix because it was convenient and it was a provider for my insurance plan. It was pure luck that Dr. Cassidy Hammons was assigned to provide my care. Her knowledge and her kind understanding of this geriatric's limitations was the basis my recovery. She patiently listened to all my complaints and excuses and responded by problem solving and encouragement. She knows her stuff! Dr. Hammons and the entire Spooner Phoenix staff are the true definition of good customer service. Everyone at the front desk, every physical therapist, and every tech greeted me by name, asked how I was feeling and what I'd been doing as they went about their work. They seemed to like their work, their patients and one another and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My sincerest appreciation and gratitude go out to Spooner Physical Therapy and his staff. When I got my surgery, I didn't realize that Therapy services were essential to my recovery. Kory Straine PT  was the one of and highly recommended Physical Therapist. Upon my initial visit, I knew that he was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I am beyond satisfied with his services and how he pays attention to detail. I would, without a doubt, recommend Spooner Physical Therapy and Kory Straine for anyone in need of Physical therapy services. You can always feel as though you are their number one priority which is rare to find these days in the service industry. Customer service seems to be their motto which cannot go unnoticed. This facility is well maintained. They have a lot of equipment and the therapist and assistants are very knowledgeable. My husband injured his spine and they helped get him back into shape. He is back at work after only 3 weeks of PT and they taught him how to do the exercises at home so he can continue to get better. We were very grateful for their help! read more
