I brought my 2006 FZ1 to sportbike center after I took a spill in an intersection from loose gravel. The bike sustained moderate damage. Even though it is an older bike, the bike is fun to ride and looks great and I did not want to part with it. The shop was able to find the original plastics and was able to return my bike to the original condition. Customer service was excellent as well as constant communications. I have been bringing my sportbike there for years for tires and basic maintenance. .I have only had excellent service there. Thank you Thomas and staff for everything you did for me. Owner lacks honesty. Take your bike elsewhere. The only reason I took my bike here is because of JC the tech who works on the bikes. JC is super cool, knowledgeable, honest and does a great job. Hopefully he can run his own business one day and leave SPC. He deserves much better. Anyways, Took my bike in for repair using my third party warranty to cover. Thomas the owner was real nice at first and communicative. Stated he would get the bike done by Monday. Come Wednesday bike wasn't even looked at yet, stated they were busy. Which is why I ask prior to dropping off to avoid having to wait longer than usual. Come Friday the bike was finally done after waiting one week for simple repairs. So beware, the dishonest timeframes they will tell you just to get you in and drop your bike off. Secondly, Thomas is a little disingenuous when it comes payment. I was told one thing over the phone and once the job was completed he stated I owed a different number than what was agreed on (should have got it in writing). When trying to call him out on it, he states he never said that and will hold your bike random until you pay the amount that he asks. Owner states, this is charge for the time due to sending emails and phone calls back and forth with the insurance. Which I told him is part of the business. You don't get paid for emails and phone calls. I end up paying what he ask and told him I'll never use a business who is dishonest to this customers. Another review on SPC stated something similar when it came to payment method less than 30 days ago. Either way, this owner/shop lacks honesty. read more

Best experience I've ever had with a mechanic. Tom was very friendly and helpful. I needed new fork seals and brought in a rotor upgrade and brake lines. They squeezed me in, had my bike done in a day. I really enjoyed meeting the team at this business, they were all very knowledgeable and polite. They did great work for a good price. Want to thank JC. My bike has never felt this good. Gears shifting feel amazing so smooth and tight. New brake pads that also just make the bike feel brand new. my initial impressions of this shop were top shelf. tom seemed quite friendly. i contacted them regarding a 2003 hayabusa she shop has up for sale. we settled on a price, i agreed to give a deposit to hold the bike for me until the weekend which was a few days away. Thats when it all started falling apart with this shop. first off, its a business that is selling a motorcycle. My bank is virtual so I dont have the ability to pull large amounts of cash out. I offered a money order/cashiers check which he initially said ok but would prefer cash THEN changed his mind after taking my deposit and said cash only. I even offered to bring him with me to BUY the money order so he knew it was legit. then tried to get me to pay for the bike with my card and LEAVE the bike and title with him till the money deposited into his account the next day, refused to deliver it to me (im 1.5 hrs away from him), then told me since im being difficult he isnt going to refund my deposit i put on the bike. he turned quite rude with me via text. in AZ its illegal to refuse a deposit refund. it was unreasonable of him not to work with me on another form of payment either. i only do business with places with integrity, and ive never dealt with a shop that has LESS integrity than tom's business here. I currently sell bikes for another shop in the valley and we will take card and roll a bike instantly cause payment is INSTANT! we take money orders for larger payments to avoid card fees! Ill be buying my next bike through someone else... with a money order. if you value integrity avoid this business! read more

EDIT:Armour bodies bodywork was used, not hot bodies, and I do not like lies being told about that. when I provide and pay for rivet fasteners then I expect them to be used and installed. Whether or not I was okay with battery install in the end does not mean that unauthorised work should be left out of a review. Do not trust this shop at all, they performed an 800$ race prep service on my track bike during which I was never contacted at all and rather told to call in myself to ask when it is done. They installed a new battery with no authorisation to do so, in the process of installing plastics they managed to screw up brand new race bodywork, installing the wrong dzus fasteners and drilling through the edge of the bodywork so I cannot fix it if I wanted to, they also chipped primer off in a few places as well as scuffed the lower. When contacting the owner he was condescending and barely willing to work with me. This shop should not be doing oil changes let alone any work in a race bike where mistakes can mean severe bodily harm. read more

Got my sprockets and chain replaced here. Then a few weeks after, I noticed a squelching type noise happening when I let out my clutch. Took it to these guys and dude took it for a ride. He came back and the following was our convo: Him: Yeah I hear exactly what you're talking about. It's just noise. Me: Ok but it wasn't there before Him: *stares blankly at me and doesn't say anything* Me: So it's not a safety issue? Him: No Me: ok well thanks. I told my girlfriend that was there that it was BS and was going to take it to my regular shop in Mesa. Which I did.. and guess what? It was just a noise. But they knew it was an ABNORMAL noise and they took the time to investigate it and FIXED it! As it turns out, it was just really bad build up from the chain on the chain guard. The Mesa mechanic told me that when they replace chains/sprockets that they go through and clean all that crap out. Apparently this shop doesn't. And the fact that dude at Sportbike Performance didn't bother to really look at the problem is the reason I won't be wasting anymore time at this shop. read more

JC is as personable and knowledgeable as they come. The experience of dealing with him is second to none. When riding on the hectic streets of the city on these machines that are all too capable of claiming your life, you essentially are trusting these technicians with your life. I have never questioned or hesitated with my comfort on my sportbike after receiving it back from JC. When he asks what parts I'd like to use, I always say, however you'd build yours - I trust you. There's no bigger comfort zone than trust when working with a mechanic and with JC you get exactly that. Upon arrival on a road trip from San Diego CA I noticed there was a bolt in my rear tire. I immediately called one of my friends to get a recommendation on a motorcycle shop around. This place was their first response. I called them and asked if they had a new rear tire in stock. They did so I rode to the shop and within 25 minutes I was out the door with a fresh rear tire. Going from 0 experience with sport bikes or even motorcycles in general all the way to a track day takes a lot of research and info. It's not cheap, and learning the in's and out's of proper riding to figuring out how to maintain your bike can be a steep learning curve. These guys made me feel like family when they could have totally treated me as just another kid with a motorcycle. They earned my trust, and I know when they make a recommendation that it's genuine. These guys treat me right, and don't blow smoke up my butt like other shops around the area. After just purchasing a 2000 Yamaha R6 and with physical issues keeping me from being able to do low lying work, I brought it here for chain work and charging system issues. They jumped right on it and checked things out, letting me know everything was okay and it was just the battery along with tightening my chain as they were working on the charging system.. all within 15-30 minutes. Gave me some great advice on what looks like it might be an issue in the future, along with what to watch out for that could be dangerous. Make sure you know what these guys are doing to your bike, especially a motor swap!!! I bought a bike from a kid that didn't know anything about bikes, these guys swapped his motor with the wrong one, plus did all the other work for the kid. He owned it a year after the swap, I bought it and found out it's a 600rr instead of a 636. They claim it's run great for over a year so EVERYONE should be happy, and that no one should have a problem with a 6 or 8 horsepower difference!!! Well, I'M NOT HAPPY!! They may not have screwed me over directly, but they are shady and can't be trusted!! read more

These guys are great AND they don't screw you on your bill! Took my Ducati to them to get a new exhaust installed. Didn't feel like dealing with AZ Superbike or the local Ducati dealer, so when I found their ad on craigslist to do suspension work, I thought I'd give them a call. Turns out this was the right call to make. These guys know bikes, super bikes in particular. And they're damn good. Took my bike, took it apart, got the exhaust fitted, which required more work than they thought, had to fabricate some parts, and they still only charged me $215 for the whole thing. I know they put more work in, but they only charged me what they quoted. Best of all, they did a full safety inspection AND a full detail on the bike. Looks better than the day I picked her up! I guess that they do not need my business although I was more than eager to give it to them. I needed to rent a Sportbike for a class i was getting certified to teach and this place was recommended. The owner "Ted" is a real piece of work, I wouldnt do business with this guy ever again! From the moment i stepped into the business he was rude and the bike i "reserved" for a cheaper price was not available, Ted tried to tell me that i had not rented the suzuki, and retorted that the Ninja was already taken, but he had a ZX-6 instead, However, He wouldnt rent it for the agreed upon price of the Suzuki, Which overall cost me $60 bucks more. Needing a bike to ride for this course meant taking his crap! But never again!! Do your Homework on this guy, He was running the track days out by Luke AFB but i heard he Lost that Gig, Probably because of his Business Practices. If you need a suspension set-up on your bike, dont take it to him, take it down the road to a previous employee of his who quit putting up with his crap!!! This guys a crook. Brought my forks here off sportbike for a rebuild with new springs for my weight. I let spc determine proper oil weight and air gap. At first i was skeptical of their decision but the bike feels great at the track. Both the owner and techs know from wrenching and racing. Some friends and I went on an adventure ride in AZ. Two of six guys rented bikes from this place. The bikes were junk and lacked even the most basic maintenance. The bikes were held together with wire and zip ties...seriously. Parts literally fell off of them as they were riding, causing one friend to fall. Fortunately he was going slow when it happened and he wasn't injured. One of the bikes quit running altogether. Ted copped an attitude and forced him to help retrieve the dead bike causing him to miss not one day but two days of his vacation. These bikes were death traps, do not rent from this place. read more
