Pointed us toward different ones my kids might like and showed us the various price points. There is a huge selection of kites, but also lots of things to keep you or your children entertained. There were gifts, puzzles, card games, other games and toys, as well as dog bandannas and even hand sewn kites made by her folks. I truly felt all the prices were way more fair than some of the more well known shops around the area. We got a 51" butterfly kite that flew easily for less than forty bucks!! It is beautiful and well made, and if you are a true enthusiast you have the opportunity to have fancy one of a kind trick kites. She also gave me some sewing tips that I intend to put to use! Kitty Hawk Kites along the Manteo waterfront earns four stars from me largely based on my experience with renting kayaks. My husband and I wanted a scenic and easy paddle and we thought Manteo would be a great place for that. Plus with a recent, rare manatee sighting in the area I wanted to see if manatees do really wear novelty tees. Anyway, we didn't see any manatees but we did have a nice kayak trip. We found 60 minutes was plenty to explore the area and take some photos. Ken was helpful with getting us launched and I liked the setup they have for climbing into kayaks. As far as shopping goes, Kitty Hawk Kites in Manteo is a very small storefront so if you're serious about shopping for a kite I'd recommend going to the Nags Head location first thing in the morning before it turns into a tourist zoo. The Manteo storefront is very small and cramped but does have some kites, spinners, windsock, toys and souvenirs.

Labor Day before heading back home, so I called to schedule three for parasailing gave her the weight paid for it over the phone when we get there we were 14lb. Over weight, then the employee proceeded to say in front of this big group (well we can only have 2 of your party go parasailing because you lied about your weight) like do you really think I lied on purpose??? and also payed to get on, Like really, have more common sense, and learn how to talk to your customers. I will never come back to this establishment

Since we were near my former beach house and had finished eating dinner, we decided to try this one last store before going home. The store was still open, but they were getting ready to close. Looking around I saw a number of things that might be useful, but I did not buy anything here, but a decal for my car, my wife's car and my sister inlaw. It would seem the window decal I liked was the very last one. I will get one chance to put this decal of an American Dog Flag up on my window. The service her was okay. The manager was counting money so I understand why he did not say hello. Allie, greeted me when she saw me walking towards her department. This is a large store with a lot of merchandise to be bought. I did not visit the upstairs this time around. My mind was thinking about what store will one of my characters buy for her friend Peters. My mind was wondering when my wife said she was ready to go. I have decided that this store will be the place I use for my novel. I certainly enjoy how big this store is. IF i ever need another awning it will NOT be from Ernie's- there are plenty of businesses in Virginia that are glad for the business. People want you to buy and shop local- well then act like you run a business not like it is a part-time hobby that you do when you get around to it.
