The environment is sports all the way around. Each TV has a different sport on them. It is clean including the bathroom. The wait staff is pleasant and come right away to set a person up to eat. They are attentive to needs. They are right there to fill drinks as soon as they are empty. The food is excellent from their hamburger to steak burgers are tasty. We finished a round of golf and needed a bite to eat and Sportscasters was near the course. When we arrived the parking lot was fairly busy - a good first sign for 8:30 pm on a Thursday. Inside the layout is two level - upper with the bar and some seating and then a lower level a few steps down. Lots of televisions as with most sports bars and they also offer Keno. We seated ourselves at a high-top table and didn't have to wait too long for service. I ordered a draft IPA. It arrived with a nice head on it and the hazy orange tone I expected. Taste was good - citrusy and hoppy - but it was not near cold enough. Tap beer in the USA needs to be served cold, unless you're talking about dark porters and Irish ales. I ordered the Sportscasters Burger, medium, with mustard, pickle, lettuce and onion and a specific instruction to hold the tomato. What I got was everything (except ketchup or mayo) including the tomato. No big deal, it's easy to remove. The burger was done appropriately to medium and the bun and presentation was attractive. I would suggest a double burger as the patty is a bit thin. The burger was good, nothing spectacular. However the Crinkle Fries were on another level. They were perfectly fried, crisp, and yet soft within. From the looks of the exterior, I think they're using beef tallow to fry. I'm a "fry connoisseur" and I can confidently state that these are some of the best crinkle fries you can try - don't pass them up! I'd seriously consider going back just to get the fries! On that topic - "going back" - I can't say it would be high on my list (other than for the fries) but I wouldn't rule it out. Sportscasters rates a three-star based on the total experience. Without the fries, I'd be at a two-star due to the lukewarm tap beer and the thin burger patty. read more

Long time costumer, first time reviewer. Friday is always PACKED and I usually go solo but I had three little dinner guests tonight. The waitress was FANTASTIC! She let us know the kitchen was running 45 minute ticket times before we ordered. She was on top of getting refills of pop and beer. The food. THE FOOD! I always get their side salad with blue cheese. That salad has mushrooms, black olives, FRESH cheese, good mixed greens and the blue cheese has ACTUAL crumbles in it. You can get it for a side with no up charge. I had the jalapeño chicken sandwich - soooooo good! Perfect amount of spice and cream cheese. And served on sourdough (drool) ! Worth the wait! read more

Haven't been in for years. Stopped after a horrible couple days. What a difference. Clean. No smells. Used to come in and it stank like a porta potty. I was seriously impressed. More TV's than a Walmart. Great ambiance. Music. Staff was kind and attentive. Keno, pull tabs "pickle cards" and couple gaming machines. Two pool tables and an ATM for those that don't carry enough cash. Dart board and bubble gum machine for that ride home. Don't drink and drive. If you do, don't get caught. Full menu. Eight different beers on tap and the noisiest ice machine this side of O street. I just pretended I was on a train in the 1800's. The garnish tray was filled to the brim with all the normal goodies I wanted to treat it like a buffet. And the straws are neon! If you stay late DeLeon's Mexican is across the street! Nothing like eating a huge burrito of you shirtless belly when you get home. read more

We love everything on the menu. The food is prepared for you as you request it. The burgers are big. The salads are fresh and unique. The appetizers are served with plenty to share. Food is great even though I ordered a chicken Philly sandwich and got a steak Philly but didn't feel like waiting another 20min for the right food. staff is good wouldn't order a mixed drink though my wife said she couldn't even taste anything but the water in her short double vodka water. My partner & I went to Sportscasters this past Friday evening and ordered a pitcher of beer. At the tail end of finishing the pitcher I found what looked like mucus in the bottom of my glass floating around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I confronted the owner who was there, he looked at it and said NOTHING but just walked away, put the glass on the bar and went on his merry way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were in Lincoln for a swim meet and needed to grab lunch somewhere close. We saw this place and decided to give it a shot. Noticed an outdoor patio with TV for when the weather is nice when we walked in. Basically a big open sports bar with tons of TVs. Service was decent as was the food. Nothing fancy here, just your typical bar food. I had the French Dip and curly fries, and it fit the bill. Not bad, not great. This is a decent sports bar and looks like a nice place to take in some games with friends. Just a quick update to show respect for the owner leaving feedback as well. Impressed with teamwork of wait staff! Everyone is short on staff these days and I agree with online messages to support those who are filling those shifts and working long days to help keep places open. Another employee came in on her day off just to have a beer but noticed they were busy and needed help. She asked our waitress, who was helping in kitchen, what she could do, and she asked her to take her section. We also noticed other wait staff chipping in to help us and other tables to make sure everyone was taken care of. And our food was fabulous! Hot and delicious. Friday night: not enough servers. Our server was extremely apologetic, but hire more people when you know it's Happy Hour and Friday!!! The beer, Shiner Bock, we ordered was flat. We sent it back with the recommendation of letting the bartender know. However, we just received another type of beer in return. The "bar" food: horrible. The jalapeño chicken sandwich: all bread and condiments. We received no water, no silverware and no follow-up service. The Onion Chips were deep fried, greasy and nasty. You could find much better service and food many other places in Lincoln, NE. Would not recommend, would not go back. We know food and beer, both were terrible here. read more

Decent setup, good for watching sports w/ lots of tvs and softer than normal seating. Food is typical bar stuff, lots of fried offerings. Service is adequate if not a bit slow although that might have just been my server. I was here to watch NCAA tourney and had a good time. I ordered the Chicken Muss, chicken was a bit fatty but lots of mushrooms and cheese, it was tasty. As for the TV's, they are primarily in two locations, a bank above the bar and a much larger bank of TV's opposite the bar. Seating is arranged to provide optimal viewing and the further away you are from the main wall the higher the seating. Slightly above average food. But my god is the service slow. Do not come here if any event is going on, NBA finals, husker game, anything at all. I think it's the management. The past 3 times my girlfriend and I have been here it has taken an hour and a half (literally) to get our food. Having only 2 servers and 2 cooks for a full restaurant is unacceptable, and it's happened the last 3 times. You should know an event is going on, come on man. Not a place that I would recommend going if you want anything other than beer. The margarita tasted like it had no tequila in it and I think the mix they used may have been old. It was oddly fizzy.... I got nachos as an appetizer and they weren't anything special. They were ground beef, queso, olives, a small container of salsa, and a dollop of sour cream. Went to eat dinner here because we heard the wings were good. Atmosphere is what we expected for a sports bar, but overcrowded with table and chairs. The waitress was nice but overall inattentive even though there weren't many customers and what seemed to be plenty of staff. Our appetizer was delivered at the same time of our meal - 25 minutes after we placed our order. The food wasn't bad, and the wings were certainly the best of what we ordered. The ones on top had a ton of sauce, what tasted like KC Masterpiece, poured over; but the ones at the bottom of the basket were almost naked, and were really very good. We'd suggest ordering the wings naked with sauce on the side, because they were so good unsauced. Overall this place was ok. Would be good spot for having a beer with friends while watching a game. read more

And if that doesn't ruin your experience enough, wait until you get the bill! $3.75 for a can of domestic beer? $9.50 for a pitcher of rotten domestic beer? The two TVs that we were watching just suddenly quit working (5:30 on Sunday, middle of the 4th quarter) and I do not know if they are capable of fixing it, but I do know the employees did not care enough to even try. Food is disgusting and you will invariably receive it 20 minutes after it is cooked (see remark above about waitresses being as helpful as a disease). Not much of a Sports Bar. We have gone there for lunch and although there is some sports on the TV's, they have rap music blaring over the sound system. We went there to watch the NFC Championship. There was a sign on the door saying they were going to close immediately after the game for a Christmas party. We asked if they were staying open until the game ended and they assured us they would. The game went into overtime, they would not serve anymore drinks and shut the main TV screen off so they could start their XMAS party. We had to leave and go to another bar to watch the end of the game. Bar manager said we gave last call, which they did not for us, and was very rude to get paying customers out of the bar. SO they took our money throughout the game, but we get kicked out before it was over. Horrible Bar and really not a sports bar. More of a ber that benifits what the employees want! If you want to watch sports, find a serious sports bar, not this one! Horrible! read more

My friends and I go to Sporties a lot. They give you pitcher coupons each time you purchase a pitcher. Then you can turn then in for a free one. The food is your standard greasy bar food that we all love. I'm not sure why other reviewers gave the waitresses sub bad reviews but I've always been taken care of just fine.
