I used to love this place. Their chicken strips 'were' amazing. They were huge, juicy and flavorful. The order had 4 strips and they were so big I could barely eat 3. I went last night and ordered them expecting the same delicious meal. Instead I received 3 strips barely bigger than a chicken nugget and hardly any French fries. The chicken did not taste the same. The meal was over $17!!! I was told they changed vendors - obviously sacrificing quality. Worst of all they would not refund. I won't be back. read more

This place has gone so far downhill! We went on a Wednesday night; it wasn't busy and there appeared to be only one waitperson. Our table had crumbs all over it, which we cleaned. The table was still sticky and the waiter said he'd clean it (he didn't). He also didn't know what beers they had on tap when my husband asked, and when I tried to order a glass of wine, he said, after taking the order, that they no longer sold it by the glass, even though it was on the menu. We decided to leave, and as we walked back through to the door, we saw a pile of ground meat on the floor. It was really a disgusting experience and we will not be back. read more

I ordered food from Grata Bar & Lounge - Clocktower for the first time tonight after reading about it here. I didn't even know they had a full food menu! I live very close and will likely be back. Tonight I had the $20 meal deal with a 10-inch classic pizza and 10 wings. Pandemic carryout is simply not the same as regular life carryout. You have to have patience and grace. They were really busy which meant really behind but they did a wonderful job keeping their cool no matter how many times they had to let folks know the wait would be longer (30+ minutes). My food was good. I was nervous the pizza would be doughy because it wasn't very brown around the edges but it was cooked through. It wasn't super hot but the cheese was melted. I got the Caribbean jerk dry rub on the wings. I've not had dry rubs before so I didn't know what to expect. There was a lot of seasoning, it's a little spicy, salty. I'll try a different flavor next time. The wings are a about the size of BWW. The meat was very moist, fall off the bone. Can't wait to try more items! Any recommendations? read more

The drinks and service was great but we had an issue with sports on the tv. A person in our party had called ahead of time to confirm that the Women's Husker Volleyball would be playing. Once we were seated with appetizers and drinks we were informed that the bar would not be steaming the game. It is insane that a bar in Lincoln, NE would not be playing a post season Husker Volleyball game. Fans literally go to bars to watch sports that are only available on select streaming services. You're telling me that this bar couldn't cough up $11.99 for ESPN+? I guess it doesn't matter because Big Bang Theory was playing on two separate tvs so that makes up for it. A terrible business. We held a birthday party here for a friend. We were supposed to get a contract for the event but they kept forgetting to have it ready for us. Even when we showed up for the party they had not prepared one. I now believe that was an intentional tactic on their part but who can say. When we went to place the food order we could not get a quote on the prices of their catered food. (What kind of business doesn't know their prices to quote you in advance) So We opted for what we guessed would be the cheapest options and let people be responsible for personal orders if they wanted a more formal meal. We ordered 1 veggie tray, 1 hummus tray, 1 fruit tray, and chips and salsa. At the end of the night the food bill was over $700!! They wouldn't itemize it, just said that was the cost of the trays. You owe us over $700. Think about how that breaks down, A $175.00 veggie tray?!? $175.00 for chips and salsa?!?! For hummus or fruit?!?! We talked to the owner and she claims that because of inflation that is the standard cost of a veggie tray now!?! And just to clarify, these were standard trays available at any grocery store for about 20 bucks. These were not some fancy over the top or oversized trays. They didn't provide a receipt for our down payment and we were told that we should have asked in advance if we wanted an itemized receipt. What a colossal rip off. The bartender was friendly and made good cocktails but that was the only bright spot on the evening. The owner was incredibly unprofessional and difficult to deal with. Update: we have now spent a week trying to deal with the owners of this place. They have continued to be extremely rude, they have lied about things, and were even laughing at us when we tried to complain. Absolutely the least professional people I have dealt with in my adult life. Incredibly rude incredibly abrasive and clearly gives zero value to customer experience. Great place for Sunday brunch and dinner on Sunday. Excellent service and a cool atmosphere. The Cajun shrimp salad is fantastic-the shrimp & bacon are beautifully cooked and warm and yet the avacado, al dente green bean sticks, and lettuce are crisp & cool. Wonderful, go-to bar and lounge in Lincoln for the last several years. Great food. Beer selection. Friendly atmosphere- amazing aquarium. All sports are covered on walls of TVs. This is our regular spot after a workout at Genesis Health Club and/ or to meet friends. During the COVID restrictions they have been extra clean on top of normal cleanliness. It's a dive bar. Loud music and smells of cigarette smoke. Lots of drunk people and its only 8:00 p.m. Our drinks are good but I ordered mine "up" and it came with ice. Oh well. don't recommend it. Hope it gets better. Hope they improve as it's a nice location and a very nice interior. read more

Came here for lunch with a family group of 8 people including little kids. The staff, including our bartender / waitress Karissa were super attentive which is nice. Went here with some coworkers a couple weeks ago. It's located in a strip mall, ample parking. Upon walking in, there were two people outside smoking right by the door which to me was unappealing. It was dimly lit, a server greeted us right away. I asked about food/drink specials and the server told us. She took our orders and we received our drinks in a reasonable amount of time. There was free popcorn which was nice. A lot of TVs with sports on. It looked like there was a party room in the back. We ordered some appetizers which were pretty good. I was expecting Grata to be an upscale Martini bar. I was a bit surprised upon entering the place as it was full of very rowdy drunk people. It was after a husker game day so I think that's probably the reason. There was no food after 10pm on Saturday night so that was a bit disappointing. I was told there was free popcorn at the back of the place but it was empty, the bartender said they would refill it but they never did. The place does look decent with a nice dark counter top and funky colored lighting. There's also a large fish tank built into the wall behind the counter with actual gold fish swimming around. The bar staff were friendly but I thought they were a bit of a rough looking lot for a martini bar. The one large bold headed bartender had a huge goatee and tattoo's. There was a pretty server girl running around in bright pink denim shorts in November which was funny. The music was blaring hard rock and hard hip hop. It was just a bit of a surreal experience but I'm going to go back again to see what the crowd is like and to try their food. They had Stella on tap but it was borderline flat to be honest. I give this place FIVE bright & shiny stars! I've been here before and was impressed with the general atmosphere. This time it was better, I went for 25 cent tacos on #tacotuesday! The tacos were cheap but I was still hungry for more and something else so I ended up trying the Buffalo Chicken pizza and it was delicious! Not only that, the staff was great! I sat in the back where it was quieter but well attended too still. The food is great, but the service is very inconsistent. On their fabulous Taco Tuesday with .35 tacos, if you sit in the back room, the service is great and they are right on top of things and very friendly. However, if you sit in the front/main area, it is very different. We wait and wait forever for taco and drink refills while the waitresses go wait on the hot young college guys--they walk right by us, not even acknowledging we exist despite our desparate attempts to get their attention. Let's just say their tip reflects the fact we must walk up to the bar and try again and again to make eye contact with someone to get service at all. I have often thought of walking out, this is ridiculous!! Our trips there have been very limited due to this subpar service, which is a shame since they are less than 5 minutes away from home. Good lunch specials that fill you up and every day has a different special. You may not believe me, bread loving carnivore and all, but their cauliflower crust pizzas are the bomb. I love this place. On Tuesday the tacos are average but they are still worth it. The margaritas are AMAZING but.. we want in for dessert before the Tuesday rush came in. It was awful. It was frozen in the middle and super dry. The waitress saw that we hardly touched it and I had to tell her to take it. Never asked how it was, which I was disappointed about.
