Great store. We were shopping for shoes and found the selection excellent. Prices were competitive and some sales. We were offered help and the store was clean and organized. Parking was easy and plentiful. Unfortunately we did not find prices on coolers and chairs in displays that peaked our interest. I went once again to check out what was on sale through email notifications. I went and several of the things in the flyer were not in the store. That's okay I moved on. They had the camping chairs I wanted but I pulled one from the rack but they wanted to charge full price. I said it was marked down but the manager said they could give me the display item only. I like Sportsman's in general. On this occasion, I was looking for something specific and they had it. The young man that was helping me was quite knowledgeable at such a young age. He prevented me from buying a California compliant version of the weapon I was looking to purchase. There was a bit of a crowd and service was a little slow, but the crew was patient and apologetic. One negative is that one of the ladies working the counter was far more interested in talking to her co-worker than helping me buy what I wanted. I came in looking for a really specific item. I asked an associate where the item was and he kind of pointed across the store and gave me the aisle to go to. A manager overheard/saw our interaction and suggested kindly to the employee that maybe he should actually walk me over to where they were and show me instead. The employee took the "constructive criticism" and agreed, out loud, that he was right and he would be happy to walk me over. I thought it was a great display of management done right. Never once was anyone rude or anything instead it was a learning moment and I happened to be part of it. This is by far the best outdoor, camping, hunting and shooting store I have been in. I am 65 years old and have been in every "brand" of "sporting goods" and "outdoor" store there is. The Customer Service provided by Nikki was exceptional. I purchased a couple items and wanted more. Before I had gone 2 miles from the store she called me and told me the items were just being unloaded from the truck. I went back and encountered the Store Manager I believe her name is Jess. Don't waste your time at this store, I have bought ammo from this store in the past but was turned away from buying a shotgun because of the guy at the gun counter. I checked their website so I would bring any paperwork that was required, called the store ahead of time to make sure it was in stock, and drove over an hour to the store just to be turned away. Several weeks ago, I bought a 1000 lumen rechargeable flashlight. At home, I charged it. Wouldn't work. Called the Nebo Customer Service. Very rude and unhelpful woman. Drove back to the store. (Nothing irritates me more than a return trip.) The manager, Jenny? Jen? and a young lady employee were very kind, worked with the flashlight. Discovered a piece of paper covered the rechargeable battery inside (who knew) which had to be removed. Why isn't this in the instructions?! Drove home. Flashlight charged but only produced a flashing strobe light. Drove back to the store. A third young woman employee showed me how to adjust the light choices which were almost invisible to me. She and I agreed that more information should be available on the paperwork that comes with the product. I am so impressed with the customer service and help from the store that my rating is 5 stars, EVEN THOUGH I made 2 extra trips to the store. Nebo customer services gets -20. I have gone in here many times to attempt to look for a new firearm, but there are the usually gun groupies that are looking at everything with no intentions of buying anything. Since they are usually looking at the most expensive guns the salespeople dedicate their time to them in hopes they will go ahead and buy a gun from them while the people that intending on buying a gun are ignored. This time I went in there was a gun groupie at the counter, but Josh greeted me and asked if he could help me. I told him what I was looking for and he went through that gun as well as a few others. I ended getting a new firearm and he helped with finding a holster for it as well. They need to hire more Josh's as his customer service was great. I give this place 3 stars because I have not felt so uncomfortable in a shop in a long time. This is your typical sporting/outdoors stuff, but with reasonable prices. I love the sportsman's warehouse in Phoenix and thought I'd walk in to the Flagstaff location and find the same customer service, sadly I didn't. Right off the bat, when we walked in we got looks, eye contact even from both gals at the registers, but no welcome. One rolled her eyes and went back to singing along with the piped in music. We are a large family by today's standards (4 boys ranging 2-10), and yes the boys were all excited to see what we could find. So far, I'd found a reason not to return, but I wasn't going to let a couole of teen girls ruin my trip. We headed to the cast iron, and a young man moved into the same aisle we were at and started "facing" the stuff on the shelves. He made no effort to approach or say Hi. I get it, some people just want to shop and be left alone, but at least make an effort to make someone feel welcome. We moved on to the smokers to buy some wood chips and he followed, still not saying anything, just clearing shelves. Followed us for two more aisles and finally left us when we moved into the gun dept. No issues w the gun dept, pretty typical wares and such. At least the dude behind the counter waved as we walked by, and he was busy w a couple so to me that was a highlight. Went to the fishing gear where we were looking to buy some stuff, but by this time I was still uncomfortable from the opening and the guy watching us that I decided to take business elsewhere. Still bought $8 worth of cherry and apple wood chips. I will avoid this place. read more

I love this store! I get a big smile on my face every time I get a few minutes to stop by and walk through the aisles. Most of the time I don't even buy anything. I just like to go in and see all the well stocked shelves of pure awesome! It is just a fun/pleasant place to be. The staff are very cordial and ready to assist you in any way they can when you ask for their assistance. The prices are a lot cheaper than Cabela's or Bass Pro Shop and the store is centrally located in town. I tell everyone I know about Sportsman's Warehouse in Flagstaff. I needed bear spray and couldn't find what I was looking for in Phoenix and REI was too expensive $50, Amazon was $43 but couldn't get shipped in time. I called Sportmans in Flagstaff. Salesperson went to confirm stock told me brand and $40 price. On our trip out of state we pull off the freeway, get the bear spray and she rings up $120 for the two cans. I showed her my notes which identified co, the brand and the $40 price. That's $20 per can more times 2! With a little hullabaloo they came down to $44 each, saying that's the best they can do now as next week it's going in the price bins. What kind of customer service is that? I went into the store to buy a portable handgun safe. I found the one I wanted and went up to the gun counter to see if my firearm fit in the safe. There was an employee working on a computer and I asked him if he had my gun in stock and if he could pull it for me. He said they did an proceeded to do nothing else for me. I was left standing there wonder if he'd grab the gun for me but he just kept working in the computer. I asked if he could grab it and he finally said I needed to wait for an other employee that was helping another customer. I waited for the other employee to finish with his customer and when he finally did he proceeded to help another customer after I'd been waiting in line for about 15 minutes. Finally a female employee helped me out with the very simple task I needed help with. I went to the front of the store to pay and there were no cashiers at the front except for one who spent 5 minuets petting some dogs. Now, I'm not mad at the customer with the dogs but when you have customers in line ready to pay you shouldn't leave them waiting there for 5 minuets while you get your fix on petting some dogs. What should have taken me 5 minuets in the store took about half an hour because the employee left me waiting. read more

I almost feel that a 5 star review doesn't actually give my experience I had at Sportsman's adequate justice. Where do I begin? The environment was warm and accepting, as everyone was respectfully cheering on their team for Monday night football. Furthermore, the food and drinks were up to par. In addition, I found the staff to be extremely kind and efficient. During my dining experience, it was somewhat busy and it appeared that they were understaffed, however, it in no way impeded on my experience. Everything was operating smoothly. Our server, Alaina, conducted herself with the utmost professionalism and respect. She came by several times to fill up our drinks and see if we needed anything. If your brown don't expect assistance from the employees who follow you around the store lurking behind corners and walking by every few minutes expecting you to steal. Then to get to the empty check out and stand there waiting while they gossip at the customer service counter. Then to be checked by the same employees who follow you around and have them check every crevice on your purchase for items you stole even though you never left their sight. Women are clearly not welcome in this store. My first time in was my last time in. When I asked one of the guys in the back if he knew anything about pepper spray he replied, "A little. What do you need?" I asked if anyone else knew more than a little. His reply, "I don't think so. Most guys don't use pepper spray." Oh. I didn't know pepper spray was created just for females. Funny, I don't think they created bear spray just for females. Or any of the other sprays that males with oversized egos use. It's no wonder why more and more people are shopping online when experiencing things like we did today. What has happened to customer service?? Service at big box stores isn't great and today's experience was one of the worst. We stopped in to purchase shoes for our kid. There was just one clerk in sight and she was chatting with a man about 30 years older. I stepped into view and stood waiting for a couple minutes. Not a bit of acknowledgement from her, not I'll be right with you, eye connection ... nothing. I walked away. Waited a bit and walked back to the other side of her conversation. Waited a couple more minutes, nothing again. We were there in the shoe are for at least 10 min trying to find what we needed. Not one person greeted us, acknowledged us or offered to help! The store was dead. It was about 1230/1pm. Her conversation ended, she had already walked by us to the row of clothing next to us and suddenly there were two more employees. NOT ONE looked at us, offered to help etc. They were pretending to be busy while chatting. I looked over at them and stared to see if anyone would acknowledge us...nothing!!! We walked out!! Ignored! Poor service! Upper management really needs to step in and work with this store. read more
