here is an overview of the quality of service and know how you can expect at ruffs today I went in to ask if they could change the barrel on an ar15. they said they didn't know how to. not only that, but when I went here to get my Glock slide cut for a slide, they damaged my Glock and optic by shoving them together when they cuts that they made were too small! destroyed my entire gun and then tried to sneak it past me at cost. only when I took it to them again and formally accused them of destroying my possessions did they even attempt to do anything. glad I'm moving away soon and get a chance at going to a place that actually has gunsmiths! read more

Every shop, every place I visited in Flagstaff were customer oriented and friendly except these jerks. I'm old, and live in both AZ and CA, owned 2 guns in Phoenix when I lived there. I told them straight up that I was a Ca resident, and they could not sell me a gun. I TOLD THEM THAT. I guess once they knew THEY couldn't sell me a gun, the lame attitudes surfaced. I was told a straw purchase was a felony, that's wonderful. They gave me a dozen legal reasons why I couldn't purchase from them. Like I said, I already knew that, I told them that. NO HELP, NO SUGGESTIONS, and we know they get these questions everyday from people who are NOT felons, but just trying to get around California's dumb redundant laws. All the laws they were quick to tell me, except the one in our Constitution which has been around WAY longer then the stupid laws they were telling me, and the stupid people who were telling me it. Believe me, word of mouth is the best review, and I will tell everyone I know to avoid Ruff's Jerkery. read more

Very impressed with my first visit to this little gun shop! Don't listen to that Anthony P negative review at the bottom. I'm under 35 and didn't get treated like trash. Must be his own attitude. The customer service was excellent and the selection was great. If they don't carry or stock a certain item they can order it and ship it to the store within a couple of days. Eric the owner was very knowledgeable and customer service focused which impressed me. I'm an avid hunter but haven't had the chance to hunt AZ and Eric said to email him and he would tell me the good game units to hunt and where in the unit is good. I will be a repeat customer for sure! read more

Went here interested in trading in a few firearms in hopes to get a few new/different firearms from what I already own. Having worked in the gun industry for several years I already knew the trade in would put me at a loss to some degree. However, after their appraisal of my firearms they offered me what would be equivalent to slightly less than half the value of each firearm. Greedy no doubt, but the worst part is that this was there offer for trade value. This means they hope to make significantly more than double on a firearm trade in because your trade value must still suffer their retail mark up. Usually an honest business will offer you a trade in value closer to their standard profit margin, which isn't more than double I assure you. Additionally, the employee who was helping me walked away from me while I was speaking to him. An interesting sales technique for sure. read more

I recently noticed Ruffs has a new Yelp page so I just wanted to warn people of the dangers of this store. For one, unknowledgeable staff who seem more concerned with getting you out the door then getting you in to get a sale. The gun selection is mediocre at best lots of cheap magpull infested ARs. Then to top it off the prices on ammo is extremely high compared to literally every where else in town. If your a younger person and I mean 35 and under you'll immediately be given weird looks and treated like trash when you walk in the door, multiple times I've gone in looking to make a purchase sometimes a very profitable purchase and been cut short treated like I'm stupid and basically pushed away. Extremely unfriendly, unfavorable selection and honestly the staff don't really know guns. To give an example I over heard one of the employees referring to an AR Magazine as a clip, the most basic distinguishable difference between methods of loading ammunition a difference someone at a gun store should understand. Simply don't go here save your money. read more
