I am a first-time purchaser at Sportsman's Warehouse. I used the online order feature, delivery came few days sooner than promised, and store transaction took about 1 hour. Barry, the sales person, and Wendy the manager, were very helpful. I did take out the Sportsman's Warehouse store credit card issued by Comenity. The credit application was online, took only mins to answer a few questions, and earned a $50 bonus credit. Open long hours, 7 days a week. I recommend online so you know the products will be in the store when you arrive. Alert: Powder selection in the store is very limited. I would recommend over Academy Sports+Outdoors and Bass Pro Shops...and I refuse to shop Dick's. read more

Purchased a firearm online, got the notification email that the order was ready, set an appointment to pick it up, then drove over an hour to the store. After waiting 5 minutes for the guy behind the counter to acknowledge me, he informs me the background check system has been down since 9am the day before. At no point in any of the emails or texts about my order was anything said about their inability to fulfill the order. Now I get to drive an hour home, only to make the same trip again in a few days. I'd recommend you call before you show up to make sure they'll be able to honor online purchases. read more

UPDATE TO THE OWNER RESPONSE: This review was posted after I had contacted customer service twice about the issue. I was told there was no recourse or way to make it right. This company clearly is incapable of doing better. They wasted 2 hours of my time. Atrocious customer service. I arrived at 20 minutes past the hour. They informed me that they stopped gun sales 30 minutes prior to close. They acknowledged that it was before the 30 minute cut off (not stated anywhere on their website) and then stated they couldn't sell two rifles because one manager called out sick and the one had to close. How is that your customer's problem???? I drove an hour there and an hour back empty handed. Zero logic from the team at this location in that situation. Looking at the reviews they hire the bottom of the barrel from management to to staff. Hope this business goes under. read more

I ordered something online that surprisingly wasn't available at Amazon or Walmart. I had never even heard of this place. But, it was ready for pick up the next day. I appreciate that. Pick up wasn't hard but it took a long time. There were four reps at the desk but several were tied up with a pricing issue for a customer. So I stood there for maybe 5 minutes. Long enough to pick out some Elk and Bison to buy. Whatever. Not great but not bad. I will say that they were not wearing masks at the store and I didn't see any kind of notice about Covid other than a printed out sign asking for painting distancing and some tape on the floor for the line. This store is awesome. They have great products for outdoors and sell some pretty hard to find items. Their fishing dept is the biggest around here, hands down. The shooting dept is way more on the ball than other retailers about getting stuff restocked lately....considering all that's going on in 20-21. The gun counter can get a little busy/congested but show me a gun counter that doesn't. Great store. Some of these reviewers on here probably wouldn't give anybody five stars. read more

I did business for the first time with these guys about two years ago. Purchased a hard to come by rifle, an AR online. I was impressed with the response time to pick up my order, excited to say the very least. Drove from Nashville, did my background check got my rifle and went home. Flawlessly I might add. I purchased two handguns and a shotgun from different dealers however, never a problem getting what I paid for. I said that to bring everything up to date. I purchased a handgun online for what I believed to be an excellent price for the brand gun I chose. This was June 3rd 2023. I went to store to pick up my new pistol, did required background check, and low and behold I was denied, not delayed, denied. My mind is blown because I know it has to be a mistake. The department manager hands me an appeal form , says you can fill this out. I must say this however, I made purchases for different items since the rifle two years ago, but I have to say the guys at the the desk aren't going to win any personality contest at all. Slow to get waited on and generally not very friendly. Mind you I'm not at the store to make friends, invite them to my house for dinner or out for a beer. Just want to be treated like a paying customer who just happens to be BLACK, yeah I said it, what can I say. Anyway, I fill out and fax the appeal the same day. I haven't had anything change from my first gun purchases years prior. I'm a senior citizen so I didn't wait all this time to become a criminal. The only information that has changed from my previous background, is that I'm a few years older. I realize it's now a TBI thing, so I'm checking their website, it says 15 days to at least to research your history. Meanwhile, I'm restless, I call the store and I'm told they will send you a letter, just sort of blew me off. Called yesterday was told still don't have a reply, offered to give me numbers I could call, I got all the websites and numbers for TBI I can handle. I take it upon myself to call the TBI, not expecting much, but the gentleman looked it up and told me my denial was overturned. Great, but I shouldn't have been denied at first. But that's water under the bridge. Can't wait to get to Murfreesboro today. Oh yeah, talked to TBI last night it was two hours or so before store was to close. Got to the store today around 9:25 right after opening. Was told they still hadn't received the necessary paperwork to release the weapon to me. Showed them on TBI instant check website where it said overturned. Wasn't good enough. The manager guy comes back and tells me the person (boss) who has the power and authority to open said needed email was off and probably hasn't opened his email. Why is the only person who has access to the email off in a store that's open seven days a week. Important email concerning a paying customer's coming from a seven day a week law enforcement agency . Sounds sort of stupid to say the least. His solution was, get this, I sent him an email asking him to open his email. What! News flash, HE'S NOT OPENING HIS EMAIL. I'm not budging until he wakes up, has his coffee and reads HIS EMAIL. Iend up calling customer service to find out what's really going on. Two hours later 11:30, they bring my purchase and necessary paperwork out. His response, sorry you had to wait so long, but I finally CALLED HIM and got a hold of him. Totally unacceptable, he could have been called from the beginning. But in all reality someone at work on the clock where the purchase is being handled should be able to access this information. Not someone who's off relaxing away from the job. Oh yeah I called the TBI from the store and he spoke with an employee and told him that the overturned info is sent out automatically once overturned is put in the system. So it's been there since last night, and I still had to be humiliated like someone begging not buying. It was undoubtedly undeniably most unpleasant experience I have ever had with trying to give money to a business. I was told it's the TBI, true it was them that denied me, but then they corrected themselves. Me having to wait to hours for someone OFF to open their email and send information needed is totally a crock. I will say this in ending, if the purchase was to keep this kind out of the store by making things as difficult as we legally can, then it was a total success. Not that it will make a bit of difference, but I will never set foot in a Sportsman Warehouse anywhere in the world. I try not to make a habit of going where I'm not welcomed. read more

I ordered a shotgun from here about three weeks ago. The estimated delivery was 3 days after I ordered online. It has been three weeks, about 7 phone calls, and about 5 different responses as to where the gun is. They said there was no way to track when it came in or when it would be coming in even after I was told several times it would be in 3 days after I ordered it. Then they charged me for the weapon and it showed the weapon had arrived. After being charged I was told that they still had no idea where it was. Now I'm waiting 7-10 business days for a refund. Went to this store this week to return an item. Was next in line when Joel the cashier stated that I would have to wait on the clerk standing beside him to finish with their customer in order to check me out because he did not do returns. I agreed and then he told the man in line behind me to come forward for him to check him out and the man also had a return. Joel checked that man out and I had to wait. This is not the first time that I have had a bad experience with terrible customer service at this store. Joel is a liability for this store and his customer service skills are bankrupt. Joel should not be in the customer service department anywhere on this planet. Joel has the personal skills of Forrest Gump and his attitude has the essence of fish Shad! If Sportman's Warehouse thinks that they have an assets hiring attitudes like Joel then I am sure this location will be a vacant and for lease by the end of the year. I literally downloaded yelp just to write this review. I've gone to this store probably 20+ times since they've opened and I have never walked out of there with what I needed. Wanting dove load for the season? They'll be out. How about steel shot for the duck opener? Out of that too. Today I went in there looking for field tips (this week is the archery deer opener) and of course they are out and have been for about two weeks. How is that an option?? I've seen multiple people about to spend thousands of dollars and walk out because no one will help them. It's like they don't want your business. I've let a lot of stuff slide with them being a new store and all but there comes a certain point when it just becomes ridiculous. The saddest part of it all is I went to Walmart across the street and got exactly what I needed. A grocery store is more useful as an outdoors store than Sportsman's Wearhouse. It's asinine read more
