I was reluctant at first to have Sportswear Etc provide our softball uniforms given their previous sub-par Yelp reviews. However, I had used them in the past for my baseball team and had a pretty good experience so I decided to go forward using them since so many others were using Nill Bro's b/c they were listed as the official provider for Blue Valley Rec teams. Jill, the owner, was a pleasure to work with and I found her to be VERY responsive. She often communicated with me via text which was extremely convenient and speedy. Her graphic artist took my ideas and did a very nice job coming up with three good options for a logo and lettering. I am a very detail-oriented person (a perfectionist of sorts) and their artist showed no frustration with me as I tweaked her ideas several times with my own. The only snafu was that our pants didn't arrive in time for our first game. However, it wasn't really a big deal...we had our socks, belts, jerseys and visors so we all matched just fine. In the end, everyone involved with the team is very pleased with the end result and we had our pants for our second game. She even stitched each player's number on the back of each visor which we did NOT discuss but parents have lauded about. She and her staff also organized the pick-up exceptionally well with all jerseys hung up and personalized bags around the neck of each hanger holding the belts, socks, and visors. As a coach getting ready too deliver them to each player, that was so helpful and I appreciated it very much! I would highly recommend you give Jill at Sportswear Etc a chance to earn your business. The best recommendation I can make is to go there immediately after determining your team name and roster so that she, her suppliers, her graphic artists, and her stitchers are not forced to produce a product in a short amount of time when everyone else is also requesting theirs be completed. I know Sportswear Etc has gone through some ownership changes. The new owners are fantastic. Nikki is easy to work with and gets things done on time. I was in a pinch to get numbers on jerseys and she delivered even better than I expected. If you have used them in the past and had problems, give them another try. Terrible customer service my sons baseball team had there uniforms made there and they had there first game my son was the only one with no hat!! They said they would have it done in 20 min before his first game came back and said something was wrong with there sewing machine so it didn't get done so she said she would have it done by Saturday which would have been 2 days later nope they said they had to order him a whole new hat and so it wouldn't be until the following Saturday so waited until that Saturday had his new hat but it didn't have the baseball logo on it!! My son missed 3 baseball games with no hat !! We paid 101.00 dollars for this uniform!!! So I picked up the hat and told them to forget it and took it somewhere else to get his logo on it!!!! Will never give them a dime of my money again!!! read more

I am currently waiting to be reimbursed for close to 400.00 that was charged to my card upon placing an order for a jacket for a competitive dance team. My card was charged for the amount of the jacket,and was then charged again for an amount close to 400.00. We contacted the company and have been treated poorly with excuses and false information. We were told the money would be refunded to our card within 4 business days. It has been 8 now, and now our phone calls aren't being returned. Do not take your business here. read more

We have used Nill Bro's in the past, but decided to try SportsWear Etc recently for our sons baseball and basketball uniforms. We couldn't have been more pleased with the quality and customer service. The new owners have been extremely kind and communicative. One shirt was slightly delayed and the owners worked overtime to ensure the item would be received and his name printed on in time for the game. One owner has also personally delivered items to our home when we were not able to pick up. I highly recommend this store for any team, group or even fun personal merchandise. It truly is a one stop shop; you can get uniforms, pants, hats, socks, even blankets! Personally, I love to support local and this family run business is one of the best. read more

Not a huge store...but a really great selection. Good variety. They even have plenty of Sporting KC attire when nobody else had it.

Disappointing. Most items are overpriced. I needed some headbands embroidered for my daughters. We picked out two small headbands and placed our order. The sales associate acted like we were weird and a huge bother. When we picked up the headbands my daughter immediately noticed the print was on the wrong side (the inside of the band) and you could see vertical and horizontal seems. I went back into the store and said "Hi. I am going to need to order another headband. This one is printed on the wrong side. I don't mind if you just turn it inside out and reprint it. I don't need a brand new one." There was no "whoops, we are sorry, we'll get cha fixed up, etc." There were smiles between sales associates to make fun of such high maintenance customers and we were told we could come back in 30 minutes. When we came back I stood at the register for a few minutes waiting for either associate to acknowledge me. One of them walked up and said "were you the one with the headband?" I was their only customer in 30 minutes and she couldn't remember me? After I said "yes" she handed the new one to me without a word (this one is way too large for my daughter's head by the way). I said "thank you and sorry for the hassle". She said absolutely nothing back. My daughter who was waiting outside the store and looking in asked me why the two ladies were laughing at us. Went here today with my HS son. He needed to get his sports uniform here. Inside working were two high school looking kids. I had to ask to get waited on. After plunking down $170 , they handed me my receipt. Not even a "thank you for coming in'. Geez--I don't know who owns this place, but you need to train your workers to greet customers ( I was not even acknowledged even after walking around for about 5 minutes) and to SMILE and say "THANK YOU" . If I could have gone elsewhere, I would. Don't expect customer service here. read more

Don't waste your time here! They ordered my son's basketball shorts which were way too big (others on his team had same issue). I asked for an exchange or refund & the kids that were working had no clue what to do they just said "we don't do that." I left messages for the owner, who never seems to be in the store and my calls were never returned. Go somewhere else for your sportswear needs! read more

Thursday I was frantically trying to find someone to make "special" tee shirts for our grandson's birthday. Everywhere I went no one was there or theie phone #'s were no longer active. THEN my daughter suggested Sportwear Etc. as she had had things done there and was so pleased. I pulled up the reviews and they were less than nice but I thought I would make my own judgement so I called. I talked to Jill and she said it would take a couple of days but I explained to her my urgent need. Her answer was bring in the shirts and we'll see what we can do. This was the BEST DECISION I have ever made!!! They created two of the MOST ADORABLY CLEVER tees for us and I could never be more pleased. I can assure you I will be back to that store !! They were absolutely so very kind on the phone, in person and such amazing knowledge of pleasing the customer!! I can't thank you enough--Jill and Brianna!!
