I am someone who works out nearly every day, which means I wash my hair pretty much every day. I also don't own a blow dryer. Tim's smoothing treatment allows me to have the absolute smoothest, yet insanely voluminous gorgeous hair for months with NO EFFORT. I can't tell you how many times I get complimented on its shine and beauty even when I'm at the gym lol. He also doesn't use any of the formaldehyde treatments, which I have had before and I MUCH prefer the results of Tim's smoothing treatment over a Brazilian blowout, any day, no question. My hair always feels healthier leaving his salon then when I walked in, which is rare. Tim is beyond thorough when he works with your hair, something that is really important to me if I'm paying for a smoothing treatment, because if this is rushed, or not executed properly you are just wasting money. Tim knows the chemistry of all the products he uses for these treatments and he understands how they interact with the type of hair you have on an insane level which helps him guide you to the best possible choices when choosing color or when combining treatments in the same visit. Tim never double/overbooks, and always spaces appointments out so he isn't rushed which again, results in the best possible outcome for the client. Tim is also one of the kindest, funniest individuals to know. If you are going to spend multiple hours getting your hair done with a stylist, you certainly want it to be Tim! Tim use to have an amazing salon in San Francisco (where I live) I love his new salon in Sac, the decor, vibe and experience it provides while getting your hair done is very luxurious. I have no choice but to continue getting my hair done with him, because no one provides the quality and experience he does (I've searched high and low in SF to no success). As a first-time customer, I was immediately given a very sales-heavy introduction and pressured to sign up for their membership club before I had even received a haircut. I would honestly compare the quality to a budget chain salon, and my wife ended up fixing parts of it when I got home. Normally, I would have simply decided not to return and moved on. However, the bigger issue came afterward. When you book online, they keep your credit card on file and apparently schedule follow-up appointments automatically. I was never aware that another appointment had been booked, and when I didn't show up, I was charged 100% of the haircut cost. Being charged the full service amount for an appointment I didn't knowingly schedule is, in my opinion, an extremely questionable business practice. At the very least, customers should be clearly informed and required to actively confirm future appointments before being charged for missing them. To their credit, when I called and explained the situation, they did refund the charge. I appreciate that they made it right in the end. However, between the aggressive membership sales pitch, the poor haircut, and the surprise appointment charge, I can't recommend this business and won't be returning. Unknowingly my card continued to be charged the monthly fees even though I was told in person that it was cancelled. Also they silently increased their fees on your card too. 2 months later it went from $80 to $90. Here's what happened: I was not aware that when I asked the receptionist (Leah) to cancel my monthly subscription that I should have demanded it should have been in writing. Also when I did ask for later for it in writing I was rudely refused. I said considering the fact that my credit card continued to be charged for a subscription I thought was cancelled isn't it reasonable to give me some from of written proof? Her reply was sorry I can't. After calling the place to ask for a refund and proof of cancellation (the only proof I had was the fact that the only services used were the one within the 1 month subscription). After a lengthy unpleasant conversation I was told she could not give anything in writing of the now requested cancellation and was unwilling to give all of the unused charges passed the first month used. My boyfriend went 3 times (first visit was free, 2 other services included in the month subscription). The services don't expire ever and can roll over to the following months...we did find out why. The services were forced to be used the following month due to their limited availability and last minute cancellations on their part. I am currently going through my credit card company to get a fair resolution. I was not able to speak to the manager but this Leah employee was unprofessional and rude.
