It takes something truly exceptional for me to give a one-star rating, but this experience earned it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As a first-time customer, I was immediately given a very sales-heavy introduction and pressured to sign up for their membership club before I had even received a haircut.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That was off-putting, but I decided to give them a chance. Unfortunately, the haircut itself was disappointing. I would honestly compare the quality to a budget chain salon, and my wife ended up fixing parts of it when I got home. Normally, I would have simply decided not to return and moved on. However, the bigger issue came afterward. When you book online, they keep your credit card on file and apparently schedule follow-up appointments automatically. I was never aware that another appointment had been booked, and when I didn't show up, I was charged 100% of the haircut cost. Being charged the full service amount for an appointment I didn't knowingly schedule is, in my opinion, an extremely questionable business practice. At the very least, customers should be clearly informed and required to actively confirm future appointments before being charged for missing them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To their credit, when I called and explained the situation, they did refund the charge. I appreciate that they made it right in the end.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, between the aggressive membership sales pitch, the poor haircut, and the surprise appointment charge, I can't recommend this business and won't be returning. Hidden Gem in Folsom! Got a full day of services here gifted to me from my fiancé for Father's Day... First time ever getting a nose wax; and the air has never felt freshener and it wasn't as bad/painful as one would imagine. Rollo hooked me up w the the absolute best shave I've ever had in my life; and I've had quite a few good ones... His pride in his work, time and attention to detail was really felt and it showed. Also made sure to stop and make sure I was hydrated in between with my complimentary drink. I'm honestly not sure what to think. The haircut was good enough. But, being my first time here, I didn't receive what I signed up for. I made an appointment for a premium service haircut, but definitely didn't receive what's in the description of the service. In the description it states a straight razor outline, warm foam, and aftershave neck massage. None of which was completed. I went to the front desk and was informed I received a first time client discount of the premium cut, and was charged the price of the classic cut. That's great and all but, I only received a classic cut to begin with. None of this initially dawned on me until I got home and read the description again of the services provided. I made an appointment to see Mandy today at 3:15pm for a haircut and a shave. I was texted all day reminding me about my appointment. On my way there I get a text that they were running late by 15 minutes to come in at 3:30. I was also told by the Receptionist that I wasn't scheduled with Mandy. I told the receptionist that I scheduled my appointment with Mandy. She told me, that Mandy's customer had scheduled his appointment in July so it wasn't their fault but my own. Because I scheduled the appointment this month on the 16th. I asked to speak to the manager. And she pretty much told me the same thing. I told her, that there wasn't any reason for me to lie about scheduling my appointment. Then she said since we've been arguing on the phone for 5 minutes, she could no longer accommodate me. That I could either have the shave or the hair cut. They made a mistake booking the appointment,They texted me to come later, they called me a liar, and they took away my shaving appointment.
