My car was burglarized last Saturday around 4 to 6 pm (5 nov 2016), I have a Camaro 2014 silver. I parked my car just outside the entrance to the tennis courts. The thief manage to use a screw driver and a pin to unlock my door and the alarm went off. If anyone witness anything please let me know. Any info would help to bring bad guys to justice! read more

The park is great. Just don't park at the lot on s heights. It's a hotbed for car break ins. I know dozens of folks (myself included) whose car windows have been smashed even when there are NO valuables to steal. Run there or park somewhere else!!!! It's a smash and (not even) grab hotbed. I have been hitting Spotts Park quite a bit lately, so I figured why not throw in a review! I head here to run stairs and do hill sprints, and both of these things are really nice here in this park! There is plenty of water stations, basketball courts, sand volleyball, nice running tracks, jungle gyms, and the stationary workout equipment (think pull up bars, etc). Plus there is pretty easy parking just right up off the hill on Waugh! Spotts rocks. read more

My go-to park whenever I feel the need to get some cardio in! It is a huge park and getting lost/forgetting where you parked is a major possibility (at least that's what happened to me, several times actually :P) but that's a good thing though, I can run for miles and miles and never get bored (*cough gym problems*) because the park offers you different sites to see (buffalo bayou, houston downtown buildings, the very nice looking heights apartments lol, etc.). In addition to that, the park offers tennis and volleyball courts, boot camp area, and a skate park. read more

out of all parks in Houston, i'd have to say.. Spotts Park has the best "spott" for watching the sun set. place a picnic blanket on top of the hill facing west, grab your cup of joe and just waiiiiit for it. p.s. whatever you do, please don't steal my spot during the spring/fall. read more

I attended this park one Saturday morning for a Hills and Drills boot camp and I was really impressed upon pulling up to the area. Then, I quickly became agitated because trying to find a place to park is a complete nightmare!! That alone is enough to keep me away! On a positive note, it is a great park for a workout, the view is awesome, and you won't be alone. There is also a covered basketball court. read more

Great little park tucked away from the busy Buffalo Bayou/Eleanor Tinsley parks. Spotts is still connected to the main running trails along the bayou, but boasts a little more privacy that can be appreciated at times. Spotts has a basketball court, a playground, a shady grove perfect for sunny days and plenty of open space and hills for athleticism. My one complaint is that parking can be somewhat hard to find on a busy day; there's a tiny lot near Waugh. read more

So looking back I see break-ins occurring all the way back to 2011 and nothing is being done.My daughter had her purse stolen shortly after arriving in Houston along with a broken window.Police seemed unconcerned.Seems like this could have been stopped eons ago.Really bad impression of the city. read more

This is a great little park to do a hill workout or a mini obstacle course. I'm a member of the Houston Striders (running club) and we have "hilly Tuesday's" here at 7:15 and it is so much fun! Spotts park is a great little park. We don't have many hills in Houston so take advantage of them as you can. read more

Wednesday evenings in August and September, Spotts Park hosts the Texas Renaissance Festival's stage combat team for our midweek fight call. The people are friendly and smart enough to stay out of our way, the dogs like to check us out, and there's plenty of level space to choreograph fights. Two thumbs up! read more

Great park, love the hills! However, it was hard to locate. Dangerous on trying to pull in, because of all the traffic coming towards you, and behind you. Also, there was no bathroom (totally a thumbs down)! A girl needs a bathroom, and I wasn't sneaking in the apartments across the way. read more

I wish people would leash their dogs. My dog doesn't like strange dogs running up to him, and a lot of people have their dogs running freely. We'd like to enjoy the park as well for exercise, but can't when these dogs are running wild. I wouldn't want there to be a dog fight to happen. Who would they blame? There's a newly built dog park for your dogs to run free! Enjoy that please. read more

Nice park, very family friendly and dog friendly. Unfortunately my dog has some fear issues and tends to bark at other doggies around and since most of them run unleashed and tend to come towards us trying to play, it was a little difficult to manage and enjoy the park to its fullest. Other than that, it is a very clean and well kept park, with a little area for kids to play. Perfect for a picnic or cookout. Nice basketball court and volleyball area. Based on other reviews, cars seem to get broken into. When I arrived there were pieces of glass on a couple of parking spots, seems like they just broke into a car recently. read more

Love it here. There is a bike trail, which is awesome...and they hold alot of boot camp classes there...Mon, Wed, and Fri...some are free so just get your behind up there. read more

Been coming here since I was about 16 (23 now) and certainly don't intend on stopping. There's so much to do here- basketball, volleyball, running trails, stairs, playgrounds, picnic tables, tennis, not to mention the wide open areas for ANYTHING you want to do. I just love this place. read more

Decent park, good tennis and basketball courts. Used to be an oxbow lake off the bayou. Would not let my kids come here unattended as some really undesirable sorts regularly play basketball here. Cars are regularly broken into in the parking lot, so keep your valuables out of sight. read more

I've came here a few times. It's a pretty chill place to be at. There's always a lot of people there during daylight, but during sunset, when there isn't it, it could be a little creepy. Needs more lighting in my opinion. But other than that you have a great view of everything around you. read more

Cool place. Tracks for riding bikes, running, a lot of space for soccer, frisbee, two sand courts and a multiple basketball court. Good for the whole family. read more

Love the park! It's close to home and easily accessible to the bike trail to take you all the way to downtown.

Spotts Park - Parks Near Me - Houston, Texas

Spotts Park is amazing. I play basketball there all the time the only downside to the court is the court is sometimes slippery. Everyone there is friendly. There is a basketball court (4 goals), tennis court,stairs to run, steep hill to run, jogging trail, play ground for your kids, they have 3 work out stations that have pull up bars to sit up bench, push up bar to dips and i forgot what else. The only bad thing is that there sometimes is fresh car window glass in the parking lot but its rare nowadays. read more

My family comes here nearly every day since we live in walking distance. The only bad thing is too many people let their dogs off leashes and no on picks up their dogs poop. read more

i went here to play some pick up games of basketball on sunday. the basketball court has a nice cover and there are plenty of hoops. the competition is average. the one con is the slippery of the court. someone can easily get hurt. outside the bball court, there are people playing volleyball and running around. spotts seems like a nice park for volleyball but not for basketball. read more

What I love about Spotts park is the incline! It makes my run interesting and more challenging. I'm still kind of new to the park so I'm not sure how big the trail is. I have yet to find a map. Overall, I don't have any complaints and I hope to go at least twice a week from now on! read more

I too love this park. I use the basketball court. There are not many courts in the area we can use. So all of us would appreciate it if Boot Campers, Personal Trainers, and Mom Yogas would stay off the court. It is after all a basketball court. You can do your thing anywhere. I cannot. Great place to run and walk, but parking is kinda of crammed. Lots of hills which is really good for athletes training.

This is a beautiful dog park. Our two 10-15 lb. dogs loved it, however, there was one problem that could be easily solved. A smaller dog ran through the fence and up the stairs towards the street. It was pretty scary as several people ran after it hoping it wouldn't get into the street. Unfortunately, our dogs also could squeeze through the fence and did a couple of times. It would be easy to install a foot high fence such as chicken wire around the perimeter of the small dog area for safety. Otherwise, this is definitely a 5 star dog partk. The water feature was awesome. read more

Great Park but with all the car related break ins I'm either going to stop going there or hide out with some other concerned citizens and catch the person breaking into cars. If anyone wants to team up and catch a thief inbox me. I guess the police are too busy or just don't care from all the reviews this seems to have been going on for years not weeks or months. read more

Great park because of all the activities that can be done at the park. There are many bootcamps, volleyball leagues and bike trail. There is a fire pit that can be used and a few grilling stations. The park is very nice as it also has several workout stations. BAD: Houston Police almost never patrols the area so many cars get broken into even just for vandalism. You would think that with so many windows broke the police would do a sting operation. read more

Nice little park that connects to the trail around Buffalo Bayou. There are volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts and plenty of hills (hard to find in Houston) if you want to work on your hill sprints. Be careful though, as other reviewers have mentioned, car breakins are common in the parking lot so don't leave anything in sight! Also, the view of downtown from the top of the hill near the tennis courts is nice. read more

I love this park! The only thing I don't like about it is there are no restrooms.

Just wanted to say be careful if you park at Spotts park. If you go running between the times 5-7 pm (or later) yesterday while walking back to my car from my usual run realized someone broke the window to about 4 cars parked out there then realized mine was completely broken too. Their was a cop was out there doing police reports but thankfully they didn't take anything from my car . So BE CAREFUL I know a lot of people go out there to work out. read more

I have to speak highly of Spotts Park, the biking trails are nice and it is a very scenic area. The only adjustment is the lack of security patrolling the parking lot area. I've seen three window's of cars shattered because of brake ins. This is all during the day so be careful!!! Very careful!!! read more
