Where do I begin to say how over the top impressed I am with this organization, the property, and the people that work/volunteer here? Growing up in the area I was always a supporter of the wonderful things this place does for animals, but I never truly appreciated the extent until I took a tour recently. I have worked in the Veterinary field for close to 20yrs in different cities and states, and never come across anything like SFC. We called ahead to see if they had time to give us a tour and they called back with a time to come. We arrived and a volunteer was promptly radioed to start our tour. The main building is quite the sight, they have many different cat rooms depending on their ailment and temperaments. Each room has many different beds, trees, toys, etc and they all have the option to be indoors or in a nice outdoor area with a view. So many of the cats have issues or need daily medicine and I cant believe all the time and money they put into these kitties. Some of them are adoptable, just ask and on the outside of each room there are pictures and description of the residents. Not only does the main building have cats, but there are turtles, birds, and some bunnies as well. The next part of our tour took us out to the barn where we met Donkeys, Ducks, geese, horses, and more. The barn manager was the nicest person and he went into so much detail about each animal and their story. He really took a lot of time with us. I cant believe all the specialized veterinary care they give these special animals, it must cost them a fortune, which is why it is so important the donations they receive. They just completed some improvements to that particular barn to make it better prepared for winter. They do what they can when they can and these animals are so lucky to be here. If you live in the area I am sure you have heard of SFC like I had and I strongly encourage you in one way or another at some point to come by for a tour or to one of their open house events to really see what is going on here. It is amazing. They can always use donations or volunteers, whatever way you can help the special mission this place is carrying out! read more

This is a peaceful oasis in an angry world, one that children in particular should experience. As a teacher I've noted how little students really understand about animals and their lives, and at Spring Farm, the teaching the animals provide is gentle, playful,and so enjoyable. I've visited several times over the years, each time grateful for the company of the animals and the wonderful, caring staff who keep the animals healthy and happy. Since this is an animal and nature sanctuary, it should be emphasized that this organization is one of long standing, with an excellent reputation. At a time when it seems that hate is everywhere, Spring Farm CARES is, quite frankly, a living manifestation of goodness and love. I discovered this beautiful sanctuary - which it truly is in both name and spirit - almost thirty years ago, and have attended two workshops in the past month. Those workshops, the experience of being on the farm, and literally every human and animal interaction I had were profound gifts to not only my wellbeing, but to my faith in humankind. I walked around a great deal of the farm and buildings during my workshop weekends, and visited with many animals... the peace and spiritual health of both the place and the creatures that inhabit it are utterly palpable. This is especially moving in light of the condition that so many of Spring Farm's animals arrive in as a result of neglect, abuse, poor health, and/or age. All are clearly treated with respect and dignity, as they are lovingly supported through the rest of their lifetimes with whatever care is needed. While the animals and their care and treatment are an integral part of what Spring Farm CARES is, the overarching mission of this amazing entity is also about helping humankind to the love and respect and balance that we all so deeply desire - and need. I cannot express how genuinely this resonates for me, and how grateful I am to share in it. My deepest thanks to Dawn, Bonnie, and Margot for your committed stewardship, and for the integrity and character and grace with which you do it. Thought this would be a good place to do a little community service. But it's not they don't want anyone around. All they want is your money. They had us come back ten times to say you can read to the cats. When it is very obvious there is a lot Of cleaning and grooming which could be done. My friends think twice...My daughter has donated here since she was in the girl scouts. Not very Welcoming at all.... read more

They don't answer the phone except during business hours. So kittens found dumped on our property after 4pm will die at the hands of fox and coyote out in the wild here in the country. No one in the county that is supposed to help was willing to help or take them. read more

I have followed Spring Farm CARES since the early days before they became who they are now. I have watched them grow from the beginning. Their mission to save, care for, love and dedicate their whole lives to the animals is stellar and something I cannot even put into words or feelings that can be put on paper! It's just magical there and filled with enough love to fill large spaces for miles and miles. Nothing has ever touched my heart so deeply. I have gone to the farm to spend time with the beautiful animals and soak in the peace/quiet/stillness...sat and talked with the cats...read all their books and newsletters...attended workshops...donated when I can...and watched their amazing progress over all these years. And I'm still in shock and awe of how they have such loving dedication! Whenever I've been there...they have treated me like royalty. A huge THANK YOU to Dawn, Bonnie & Margot for all that you do!!! I recieved a voucher in 2016 to spay my dog. The voucher was supposed to be faxed to the veterinary office. Never faxed it. I called them and said that the vet office was billing me, multiple times and they said oh no worries we will get it faxed over for you! I called at least 3 or 4 times reminding them. It is now March 2019, and I got yet ANOTHER bill from the veterinary office for the voucher amount. How hard is it to send an email of the voucher or a fax? Vet office said this is no surprise as this is a common issue. read more
