AND, I forgot to mention I would need a lock. A few days later, I started imagining my beloved possessions were gone as I knew the movers didn't think about a lock. I never asked them to! I was so frantic about getting my things out of the basement and into a storage within 24 hours. I emailed Rick yesterday and asked if my storage was secure. He said he put a lock on it for me and has the key at the desk for when I come back to sort through things in February. He did this without me asking. No one does that without asking for payment. They won't pro-rate if you move out early (I assume that's standard). My interactions with staff have all been very positive and helpful. They lent me a hand truck for a few days- no need to fill out paperwork. I don't believe the units are climate-controlled. But they appear to be decently insulated. They have a fence around the property and security cameras everywhere, so you can feel good about your property being safe. The website says they have a truck- but there isn't one at this location. The other location does have one. I assume you could get the truck if you needed to use it, you'd just have to schedule that early. Good selection of unit sizes. From as small as 5x5 to as large as 10x40 (I believe). All prices are online and they seem fair. They also have specials from time to time, so check the website first. Recommend!

CitySpace on Main Self Storage is a good place to get a storage unit. I've never personally had a…read moreunit here, but I helped a friend with theirs for several hours, and I thought CitySpace was great while I was there. It's a huge space (as most self storage locations are), but I found it easy to navigate. It's gated, and locked from within, so it seemed very secure. I helped my friend clean out her storage unit, organize everything, and dispose of many unwanted items. We had no issues pulling everything out of the unit, as the hallways are quite large. I really like that aspect of this location, because many other storage spaces I've been in have much more narrow hallway spaces, making it more difficult to move items in or out. I have also had experience with storage units where the doors are accessed from outside, so I like that in this location you have to enter through a gate, and then go into the building to access your unit. If you're looking to get a storage unit, I think CitySpace on Main Self Storage is a fine place to do it.

The storage units are inside and climate-controlled, which will be particularly nice when I have to get into my unit and move some stuff around in the winter and summer months. You can also pull your car into the facility to load and unload it -- again avoiding the high heat, cold, sleet, snow, rain, zombie apocalypse, what have you. The whole place is very clean, and the lady at the front desk has been nice and helpful. CitySpace is downtown and close to my home. Plus you can pay online. And I just learned that CitySpace also serves as a K-9 training center for the Louisville Police. Crazy stuff. The rental prices seem comparable, skewing a little high -- but again you get a lot of amenities for you and your stuff. The one thing I don't like is that I can't access my unit 24/7, but, then again, if I need into my unit at 3 a.m. something is likely very wrong ... or I've just procrastinated in some way.

first off, when quoted on the phone they said it'd likely take about two hours for a move of our…read moresize. it ended up taking EIGHT hours.. for a two bed apartment. That's with us throwing boxes and items in four loads worth of cars to save time. the price I expected to pay at the time of booking ended being only a quarter of the cost I paid. and then they encouraged us to tip them on top of it. They came late meaning we didnt get a good start to the move until after noon. they came with two guys but one guy did pretty much all the work. they knocked chunks out of the wall of the old place that I know is going to come out of my security deposit. they shrink wrapped and blanketed every thing whether it was needed or not and charged for how much they used. I'm talking a few extra hundred dollars worth of supplies that the quote had said would be included. over all I expected to pay maybe $600 and then ended up paying 1500+ since it took them the entire day to make the move

These guys were slick. I made sure to verify the truck was empty after they unloaded and it was. They must have put the stuff in the cab or something.
