first off, when quoted on the phone they said it'd likely take about two hours for a move of our…read moresize. it ended up taking EIGHT hours.. for a two bed apartment. That's with us throwing boxes and items in four loads worth of cars to save time. the price I expected to pay at the time of booking ended being only a quarter of the cost I paid. and then they encouraged us to tip them on top of it. They came late meaning we didnt get a good start to the move until after noon. they came with two guys but one guy did pretty much all the work. they knocked chunks out of the wall of the old place that I know is going to come out of my security deposit. they shrink wrapped and blanketed every thing whether it was needed or not and charged for how much they used. I'm talking a few extra hundred dollars worth of supplies that the quote had said would be included. over all I expected to pay maybe $600 and then ended up paying 1500+ since it took them the entire day to make the move

I do not believe there is any potential for improvement with this company. The level of…read moreprofessionalism was so low it actually shocked me. From the sleazy "used car salesman" approach by multiple employees when setting up the appointment to the complete lack of respect and disregard shown in canceling my appointment on the day of my scheduled move. Every employee I spoke with was located at a "call center" and not even at the actual place of business. The supervisor at the call center who called herself "Jana", then changed her name to Melissa was the worst! I had a contract for services, paid a deposit and was canceled with no explanation. I relied to my detriment on this contract to fulfill a scheduled move on a specific date and time. This is by far the worst company I have ever encountered.

Public Storage Review…read more If you MUST rent here, be absolutely sure it's short term only. This facility first opened in March of 2016, underwent two acquisitions: going from Q2 Self Storage to Simply Self Storage, and finally, to Public Storage. Through all of this, I can honestly say that I was THE first tenant, booking a space within 1 hour of the facility opening for its first day in 2016. Q2 was amazing to deal with; Simply was a bit of a downgrade, as to be expected with any corporate acquisition, but Public... Public set the standard for horrible customer service, poor property management, absurd price increases, and an overall inexcusable self storage experience. Public Storage took ownership of this facility on September 14, 2023. At that time, my rent for a 10x25, non-climate controlled unit was $215.99. April 2024, rent had increased to $258.00. May 2025 rent had increased to $325.00. October 2025 rent had increased to $416.00. Don't worry though, by the time January 2026 came around, I suppose they realized I was getting disgruntled and they gave me a "manager discount" to bring it to $325.00 again. That lasted for 6 months until I decided to move out. It wasn't until I submitted my move out notice that they gave me the discount again to bring it to $325.00. I should note that from March 2016 until September 2023, my rent had only increased from $158.00 to $215.99, over a 7.5 year span. Now let's talk about the break-in of their office. I never mentioned this to the staff because I wasn't looking for anything in return but one night in 2025, I was leaving my unit and noticed the glass of the rear door was shattered. I stayed and called the police. While waiting for them to arrive, I called every number I had for Public Storage, only to find there is NO ONE available for any type of emergency, even in the event of a break-in or fire. Even the call center number said to call during business hours. I've learned since, that if you need help, you'll never get a live person and will always have to leave message and wait for a call back. This break in showed exactly how much pride Public Storage has in it's properties as the door was covered in plywood for well over a month before being replaced - a standard piece of storefront glass in an aluminum entry door - nothing special. When it comes to the rest of the perimeter, fences have been cut multiple times and rather than fixing the problem, Public Storage has chosen to repair the fencing with poultry wire - another temporary fix. Lastly, the staff took every opportunity to remind me they didn't have a signed rental agreement on file. They DID, but it didn't say Public Storage and they knew they would have to coerce me into signing theirs as they bought the facility with agreements already in place that must be honored, according to Kentucky Revised Statutes. The funny thing is my agreement dated back to March 2016 with Q2 as I never signed one for Simply either. Both succeeding companies could have simply sent a notice to sign or move yet they continued accepting the rent each month. At the end, they tried to force my hand by taking away my 24 hour gate access (which was permitted due to the unit being used for business). I was told I would get my extended access back once they had a new agreement in hand. As of yesterday, May 29, 2026, a new agreement was not necessary. After 10 years at this facility, a facility at which I was the first tenant, I have officially moved out and my unit and my unit is being marketed with a promotional price of $102/month. Good luck to the sucker that moves in to unit 229 - I hope you don't stay too long.
