I will never go back.. Took my family there food was terrible, waitress was very slow got our appetizer with our meal.. To top it off one of the waitresses was tweeking [ on meth].. so bad she could not stop sucking on her face and kept on snorting like she had a runny nose.. won't ever go back not will tell anyone to go there... Today was my first time there. We were seated immediately although our table was dirty they cleaned it off right away. Our waitress was nice but it took a long time to get our food. I had a chicken sandwich and was not very pleased with it. The chicken was pounded out to less than 1/4 inch. I could get a bigger tastier chicken sandwich from McDonalds. Others at my table had a party melt which was good and a roast beef sandwich which was supposed to be severed with horseradish sauce but they were out of that. The French fires were crispy and hot. Each meal is served with a free bowl of soup. Today's was beef and noodles which was pretty much broth and noodles. It didn't taste or look like any beef and noodles I've ever seen. read more

I go here quite often. I like the Ozark and eggs which is pretty much two meals in one. The pork tenderloins are huge and better than the ones at Smith's restaurant right down the road. For less cost than other food places in bolivar; over all get more for your money here. The service is great. The only reason I put four instead of five stars is the fact that sometimes you have to wait awhile for your food when it's busy. Other than that I would recommend it to others any day of the week. read more

Extremely disappointed in my food from there. Specifically ordered a Denver omelet with no onion just peppers ham and cheese. I've eaten their twice since they changed over. The food I received is excellent! On the other hand, when I was in there, the wait staff was young, inexperienced and somewhat hap hazard. I will be back again because the food is the best I have found in Bolivar. The portions are respectable and the price is very reasonable for what I had. read more

My husband and I ate here during a weeknight and they were busy. We had to ask twice for utensils and our waitress never brought us our appetizer. After we had already eaten we asked her to take the appetizer off of our bill, since we never received it. She ended up bringing us free pie to make it up to us. The help was obviously substandard, but we were impressed with the food. It's great food at a great price and had large pieces of pretty pie. We definitely prefer this food over any "frou-frou" restaurant in Springfield (we ate at the Aviary a few days ago). At Springfield Ave Cafe, we ordered a fish sandwich ($8.50) that came with sweet potato fries and our other entree was BBQ brisket burger USDA choice beef ($9.25) that came with real potato fries. Today, I ordered the chicken pot pie. Earlier in the week, I aso had the same. Today's serving was about half the normal size. I have previously eaten this selection multiple times and always satisfied. When I complained to the cashier, there was no response. I might as well spoke to a brick wall. Additionally, they were out of blue cheese dressing for the salad. How can an established restaurant run out of something so basic? Obviously not payung attention to needs and quality control. Finally, the server apparently decided that I did not need any more ice tea. He walked by my table with an empty glass at least a half dozen times and failed to ask if I would like another glass. After this experience, I'll take my business elsewhere. I told the cashier this and again no response. It is apparent to me that this establishment does not care about the customer. read more

Ate here for the first time last weekend with my parents. The atmosphere is..different.. it is just a local type place. The food was really really good, the service was good, the furniture needs to be updated and while we were there in a back room they sprayed half a can of bug spray on something and then closed up the doors, so while we were trying to eat we had to smell bug spray and wonder what the heck they needed so much for in there! I am a Bolivar local, and have eaten here 3-4 times. The first 3 times weren't horrible, but definitely not a 5 star rating. The last time I went, I had company from out of town, and the service was the worst I have ever had. We came in around 7:30, an hour and a half before they closed. There were several people in the restaurant, and still some coming in after us. Our waitress was an older woman, and was very impatient with us. Right when we were seated she asked if were ready to order, not even greeting us, etc. After we ordered, our food was out in maybe 5 minutes, and our waitress slammed the check down on the table at the same time our food was served to us. She never once asked how we were doing, how the food was, or if we needed refills (we never got one). Other employees were vacuuming right by customers feet, and our particular waitress was on the phone, and talking about us to other employees. We left the exact amount on the table and walked out.
