This was my first time flying into the Springfield-Branson airport. I normally fly into the Kansas City airport. Wow! This airport is very small yet efficient. I flew in and out of SGF. It's easy to navigate by following the signs. There's four airlines that serve Springfield. There's American Airlines, Allegiant, Delta, and United. There's many options available for rental cars. There's Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Dollar Rent-A-Car, Hertz, National/Alamo, Payless, and Thrifty. As far as ground service transportation, there's Taxi's, Lyft, Uber, Limousine, or your local Hotel Shuttle service! Like all airport arrival times, they suggest arriving two hours before your flight departure. I was able to go through TSA within fifteen minutes. Now, I only had carryon bags and I pre checked with American Airlines on the website the night before. So I would still give yourself a little time for any mishaps that could occur. Overall, I had a FABULOUS service through SGF. Friendly staff from TSA's to the coffee shop staff. It's clean and easy to navigate. read more

My best friend says this airport is from a hallmark movie and it's true. Our airport is the perfect size, only ten gates and feels like a private airport that will let you go anywhere. TSA pre is super fast and the employees are kind. When waiting for my Dad recently we talked to the visitor center employees who were enjoyable and fun. First time flying out of Springfield Branson Airport and was shocked how the airport was not crowded. What I love about this airport is it is slow paced, not chaotic and it is easy to find your gate. I went through TSA which was literally less than five minutes. Security was extremely friendly when I had to ask questions about my boots (metal) and my iWatch. This was a nice enough little airport. Extremely clean and well decorated. It's also very easy to navigate, as the gates go in a straight line. Decent amount of room to sit and spread out. Solid food options. On the pricey side for food and drinks of course, but not outrageously so, and the quality is fairly good. The staff seemed nice. Pretty pleasant experience. read more

Probably the nicest, cleanest, and well maintained small airport I've ever been to. Wasn't sure what to expect when landing in Missouri, but I was very impressed. Security moved quickly, decent food options, and all of the staff were so nice and pleasant. I wish every airport was like this! read more

Nice little airport with everything easy to get to. Nice clean bathrooms and the luggage carousels are easy to find. The rental car setup is all manual, so it can take quite a while to get a car even if you have status and a reservation. Since this is a small airport, it only goes to a few locations. American only goes to DFW, Charlotte, and Chicago. All the people here were very nice, which seems to be unusual for airports these days. If you are Branson bound, this is the place to go! read more

This is a nice clean regional airport. I've never had more than 3 people in front of me at security. There are plenty of outlets to charge devices while you are here. There are also desk/work stations for you to use. Parking is ample and reasonably priced. There are no lounges and limited eating options but a very nice airport. read more

A very small well kept airport. I needed to hop a flight home to get back to work and I found a flight available the very day I decided to go. The airport is about an hour away from where we were staying in Branson so not too bad. Once there it was a walk in the park... no people there were e to speak of... security was a breeze... and everything flowed really easily! Of the airports near joplin, i like Springfield the best. Easy getting in and out of the airport. Parking rates aren't incredibly high. TSA is always friendly and quick and is small enough that I'm not running a mile to get to my gate. This is a small airport, yet it is surprisingly spacious when you walk in. Baggage claim is exceptionally easy with only 3 carousels. Parking is directly in front of the entrance, so there's no need to take a shuttle or park in a garage and remember what level you are on. There are a variety of places to sit and wait for arriving passengers, which is nice. I really like that seating by the gates have small tables between some seats--not just long rows. It provides a table and a solo seat for a solo traveler. Great women's bathrooms! There are 8 bathroom stalls.  Good sinks--water comes on easily and stays on a good amount of time. However, the paper towels are hard to manage. They come out in a string--you have to pull just right to separate the pieces. read more

Nice small airport! Code: SGF We flew into Springfield and there were not a lot of people in the airport. It was our first time here. The airport is small and clean but the best part is the rental car kiosks are also in the premises. It is just a few steps from the baggage claim area. We didn't have to take a shuttle to drive us offsite to another location. The airport is easy to navigate. There are only four airlines serving Springfield: American Airlines, Delta, United and Allegiant. Departure from SGF was fast and easy. No lines at the TSA checkpoint at 3:30p (flight time: 5:20p) and the staff were friendly. My mom's carry-on luggage got searched, though. Ugh! She had this huge tube of toothpaste! Well, they dumped that sucker away. I'm not sure how it got missed at the TSA in SMF. ¯\_('~')_/¯ Remember! Small and quiet airport that serves the local area. We were flying in and out of Springfield for a local meeting we had and to enjoy the area. It was very easy to find everything as it only has a few gates. As one would expect there are limited options for what you can get once you're checked through security. There are a couple cafes and a shop to get the normal books and headphones and such. Also a few rental car companies hold spaces in the baggage area. Overall: A Decent, small airport for the local area. read more

I just walked in and was only one in line so got through to check luggage very quickly. I then was the only one going through TSA line - caught up to a couple of people further down in the process but it still took about 2 minutes. From the time i was dropped off until I was at my gate was 10 minutes or less - amazing. Also, they keep adding destinations from Springfield so more and more direct flights! read more

Small airport which means faster checkin times. I had a rental car, but the drop off lot is a 2 minute walk to the airport check in entrance. I noticed that there is even a waiting area with couches that you can hang out at while waiting for friends/family. There is a small gallery with art work you can look at as well at the entrance of the airport. I was able to check in and get through security all the way to my gate in less that 30 min. which is unheard of at larger airports. Overall clean and efficient airport! read more

Attractive and calm airport. Easy to maneuver but could use better interior signage. This is about the perfect sized airport to me. Not too crowded or busy. But on the flip side the staff from Chechnya in to TSA are somewhat slow and disorganized. Yet everyone was friendly and polite. A few even struck up casual conversations as the lines were surprisingly slow despite being short so there is time to chat a little. The terminals are bright and modern and do not feel closed in. Perfect before boarding the sardine cans. Suggestions about signage, it's not very clear where the various airline check-in desks are. In most airports they are linear and spread out with ample signs about who is where. This airport is stacked so agent desks for one airline might be behind several others with no indication where they are from the entrance. Last there are few signs outside on the roads leading to the airport and none on the freeway I came in on. My car god guided me in just fine but made a bunch of turns, nine of which had airport directional signs on them. I guess once you know where it is I he locals don't need directions but for out of town visitors it could be improved. read more

This is the teeniest airport ever. Seriously the smallest. But it's super clean, and not very busy and the TSA line is the quickest ever! I arrived there Monday afternoon and it's just a quick walk to the baggage claim, and only one conveyor. Everything is clearly marked, so I found where to wait for my hotel shuttle no problem. When I flew back, there wasn't a line to check bags, so that was quick and easy. They have a restaurant and a gift shop before security and one after. Yes, that's it. But the restaurant was pretty freaking good, so that was a plus! The bathrooms are spotless so that was nice! I didn't find a lot of plug ones for my phone but they did have a few. There's only 10 gates so if you have to go to another gate it's no big deal. All in all, although it's tiny, it's nice and clean and easy to get through! read more

As I was waiting in line at screening, there was a younger woman ahead at the desk, having problems with her boarding pass. She began to cry and the small dog in her luggage sensed her distress and also became anxious and began trying to get out of the bag. One of the younger agents showed amazing compassion and tried calming her. "Don't worry, we'll get this figured out. It happened sometimes." "Sounds like you have a lot going on right now." "Your dog is probably responding to your stress." His compassion touched me. I ended up getting a pat down and the female agent was very kind. read more

Woot woot... Springfield got a NEW airport (it's still called SGF like the old one though)! Amazing. It's pretty flippin' cool too. With the abundance of space in MO comes wide open, clean spaces and this airport fits the bill. It's new, clean, spacey and... still gives free wi-fi with nifty charging terminals attached to the seats in the waiting areas. Yes, you heard me right... the seats have 2 outlets AND.... USB and 5v DC chargers!!! I had to take a picture. Thank-you Springfield for letting us see how an airport should be kept. If only I didn't have to brave the 0-10 degree temps to walk to your little planes, you'd be perfect. lol See ya there! read more

This is the smallest airport I've ever been to in my life. If O'Hare airport was a human body, the size of this airport would be equivalent to its face.....I think. Actually, I'm probably wrong. You have two restaurants in the entire airport, one located before the security checkpoint and one after. Fortunately, both are McAllister's Deli and have decent food options at reasonable prices. Too bad I burned my tongue from their extra hot tortilla soup. It would be nice to have other restaurant choices instead of only one being available after the security checkpoint. Not crowded, FREE WI-FI, spacious, clean, friendly employees, easy to navigate, and sleek. What more could you ask for from an airport? I also like that the outlets are easily accessible right under your seat in the waiting area. O'Hare airport United Airlines terminal, please take note. I'd imagine that not many people fly in and out of Springfield, MO, definitely nowhere as many as O'Hare airport. This means less traffic, and less likelihood of flight delays. Not a shabby connecting airport on my way to Denver from Chicago. I approve! read more

When arriving after 5:00pm, most of the ground crew goes home and leaves the place ridiculously understaffed for the later flights. Delays getting to the gate after landing are a regular occurrence and long wait times on luggage are almost guaranteed. Where else are you going to go when you live here? read more

The airport is new and clean, but the staff is not professionally trained, efficient or competent. Most of the time, the gates have zero desk agents until minutes before the flight is scheduled to board. There is no one on the floor to help or provide any type of customer service. My flight leaving at 6:25pm on a Monday was the only flight leaving until past 7pm and it took the team de-icing the plane 45+ minutes to even start the work, causing substantial delay for a flight where I'd assume 75% or more are making connections through DFW. Even though this is a small town, there is no excuse for mediocre service. read more

We used Allegiant to fly recently to AZ and will do so again. The parking is all close because the airport is small. Parked in extended for a week and the bill was $63! Very reasonable! It's a really small airport. This isn't JFK or O'hare where you need to get to the airport early (def. not b4 30m) even with Pre-Check or Clear b/c they don't even offer Pre-check on some flights! With that said, I was surprised that they had direct flights to like Dallas, Vegas, Atlanta, Phoenix, Chicago, and even to Mexico (let's not call this an international airport now when we only serve Mexico). So if you are local and in this area - it beats going to KC or STL for a flight. It's super stress free- and I can still get on my delta flights. They would actually get that last star if they had better food bc there basically is none or my delta lounge. However, free open unlimited wifi if u ain't afraid of hackers! Also - a lot of the private charter flights operate out of here too. I dig you - but I wish you had my Delta lounge or at least a decent coffee bar. Don't get here early to hang out, b/c you will be real bored. Clearly - I'm having some first-world problems. read more

Ready to go home my journey starts in Springfield-Branson airport. I arrived way early, returned my rental car and had time to relax before needing to head through security. The AA desk was packed with only 3 people behind the counter, but they got me through as quickly as they could with a smile. I had an issue with security, for some reason my ticket on my phone didn't work but, with a quick stop back to the AA desk I got paper tickets and made it through just fine. The TSA agents at security were very respectful and kind! This airport is really small, EXTREMELY clean, and beautiful! There is an art exhibit just before security that was a fun browse. I love flying out of small airports! I was through the main door and at my gate in 5 minutes max (with no luggage, the first flight of the day and TSA Pre-Check). The bar/cafe was a welcome site for a cup of coffee at 0430 in the morning too :) When I checked in, there was a pop-up asking about gender neutral bathrooms, so I snapped a pic: There's an assisted bathroom between the male and female bathrooms. So that's about as gender neutral as it gets and is a single stall for those with a handicap or maybe a parent taking small children to the bathroom a little easier than you would inside the larger one with a row of stalls. read more
