They are more expensive than other local dry cleaners. They also tack a surcharge onto the price without telling the customer. I paid $60 dollars to clean a bedspread. I told her I needed to enter a pin because I was using a debit card. She said I didn't. I looked at the receipt and the 3% surcharge was on it. I explained that I wanted it run as a debit to avoid the surcharge. She said her machine couldn't do that. I highly doubt that. Is that even legal? read more

Edit: the woman working when I went back was kind enough to offer a discount because of the delay. I appreciate that they offered that to me and sometimes a small discount is enough to smooth over situations like these. I never ever use this app, I've worked in the service industry for years so ive never been into Yelp. But, I've transitioned into an office job where a suit is required (smh). I went out and purchased two band new suits and went to get my grey one cleaned for the first time. They somehow made it worse (scorched it), probably a easily made mistake in that industry. But they proceeded to say that I had left it hanging in my closet for too long, that's where the stains come from. Which would make perfect sense if I hadn't purchased the suits at the end of May. Amazing for alterations as well. Very highly skilled. Even did some ski pant alterations that came out great

They never fail to meet the timetable you give them, but there operation is handicapped by the employee they have opening most days. SHE IS SIMPLY NEVER ON TIME FOR HER JOB. 7 AM becomes 7:15, and the problem is just getting worse all the time. Either the owner doesn't know or doesn't care, but I am about to take my family's considerable business away from this good convenient location because they are not reliable. read more

My family's only had an excellent experience (as stated by Catherine M) and am surprised to read anything negative (although one of the 2 bad reviews is 6 years old). Our first trip to Springfield cleaners was almost 4 years ago... I remember the date because we stopped by on the way home from visiting A tailor in the area to have my dress tailored for my daughter's wedding. The other Yelp recommended tailor's price was high enough that I hesitated to have them do the alteration. So when I noticed a sign in Springfield Cleaner's window, I decided to see whether they might seem dedicated to doing a good job. When I stopped in they were totally friendly and professional, and quoted me a really reasonable price. It was a somewhat complicated alteration but I was extremely pleased with the result, and it was done quickly and within the timeframe they quoted. Since then, we have regularly used this cleaner for laundering all shirts as well as dry cleaning. They have the cheapest shirt laundering in the area (on their specials day- $.99 on Wednesday), with an article to clean at the same time. But more importantly, everything has always been returned to us in a timely manner and in perfect condition. They couldn't be nicer! read more

I agree. This business is the worst. Everytime there is a turnover of employees, the prices change. The last new employees didn't know how to work the register and I had to go in when the owner was there to get the correct price. Now there is another woman there charging almost double what I paid a week or two ago. I asked to speak to the owner. The woman responded that she wasn't there. She only stopped in occasionally. When I inquired how to get in touch with the owner, the employee told me I'd have to just keep stopping in hoping to catch her. I left my phone number hoping to hear from the owner. Frustrating. I guess I'll have to find a new place. I only liked this one because of the location and original prices. G read more

There was a sign on the door on a Saturday morning stating "Be Back in 5 minutes". I waited 15 minutes and was prepared to leave when I saw them return. I informed them that I had waited a lot longer than 5 minutes and was told "it doesn't matter." I told him, you are right it doesn't matter because I would never be returning. Again I was told, "it doesn't matter." That is how they treat their customers. Also, while they are inexpensive, you get what you pay for. read more
