The two women at the reception desk showed no regard for HIPAA regulations. When I arrived for my 10 AM appointment for my tooth extraction, the receptionist loudly announced, "You are here for your extraction of tooth #7," which was overheard by everyone in the lobby. This lack of privacy was extremely embarrassing. The situation worsened when I had to do an impression for my flipper. The staff reclined the chair down instead of sitting up, which caused me to gag. When I started to choke, the assistant yelled at me to lift my legs. This unprofessional behavior left me traumatized. To make matters worse, when I returned to pick up my flipper, the receptionists repeated their loud and intrusive behavior, announcing my presence and the reason for my visit to everyone in the lobby. The flipper itself was of poor quality, looking like it came out of a bubble gum machine, despite costing nearly $1,000. While the dentist was decent and the extraction itself went smoothly, the overall experience was marred by the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the front desk staff, the staff who did the impression and the poor quality of the "flipper." I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking respectful, quality and private dental care.

When we came to Woodstock, we starting seeing Dr. Laughlin and received excellent care from him. And when he retired and Dr. Knott bought his practice, we stayed on because we'd already experienced his excellent care. Fast forward to 2016, when Dr. Knott's taken his practice to new heights. He's not only expanded into a new, purpose-outfitted, facility, but he's introduced some new technology and other innovations that make it scheduling and other patient services much easier. Now, for example, I get texts about upcoming appointments and add them to my calendar automatically. I'd expect those conveniences in 2016. But what's really important is that technology (in communications and patient care) never gets in the way of great dental care. Dr. Knott and his staff provide friendly, excellent, high-quality care at every level -- far and above what one might expect in small-town Vermont. Can't recommend them highly enough.

They called me by 8:30 Monday morning and they were able to fit me in for a 1:00 appointment. I was so happy they were able to see me so quickly as a new patient. Everyone in the office was so helpful and friendly and the office is very nice. All expected COVID precautions were taken and I felt like I was in a safe environment. They recommended and coordinated an appointment with an Endodontist for me 2 days later. I am very happy with this practice and would wholeheartedly recommend them!!!

I've known Dr. Chris Fauver for years and have always appreciated the way he approaches dentistry…read moreand patient care. Chris is not only a very skilled dentist, but also someone who genuinely cares about the people he treats. He takes the time to listen, explain things clearly, and make sure you feel comfortable before doing any work. What I've always respected most is that he's constantly learning and his patients get the best care possible. His practice focuses on long-term dental health and prevention, not just quick fixes, which makes a huge difference. The office environment is friendly and welcoming, and the whole team works hard to make visits smooth and low-stress. It's the kind of place where you feel like people actually know you and care about your wellbeing. If you're looking for a dentist in the Chester/Springfield area who is experienced, thoughtful, and committed to helping patients maintain healthy smiles, Dr. Fauver is someone I would absolutely recommend.

I recently left the practice due to a loss of confidence in his ability and responsiveness. His errors have resulted in my experiencing unrelenting, possibly permanent, pain. Dr. Fauver started a root canal but was unable to complete it, necessitating a second root canal 1 month later. During the second root canal Dr. Fauver drilled through the tooth into the jaw causing new pain and bone loss; requiring an endodontist consult, the tooth to be extracted and a bridge built. To his credit Dr. Fauver did the extraction and bridge at no additional cost to me, but, after these additional procedures my pain increased and was worse than before. Dr. Fauver couldn't fit me into his schedule for a month so I returned to the endodontist, who after CT scans and exams confidently diagnosed that my pain was now due to nerve damage, possibly permanent. I am now on medication in an attempt to manage my pain. There were other mistakes Dr. Fauver made during these procedures including the use of temporary materials on a permanent filling and leaving debris in the extraction site. I have never written a review of a medical professional before but I feel strongly that Dr. Fauver did not meet professional dental standards resulting in significant harm to a patient. I do not recommend Dr. Fauver or his practice.
