This is genuinely the absolute worst experience I have ever had. First, we were given a dirty room. Then we were given a room that was already occupied by other guests ( talk about a safety concern - they gave us the active keys to someone else's room). The third room was okay but at that point, we did not feel comfortable. They refuse to do anything to rectify the situation. -10/10. Please consider going somewhere else to stay at because this was genuinely terrible. read more

This is my first time staying here. I've stayed at many place's in the past during my many years coming down here from NYC. I must say that going forward this will definitely be my go to place to stay when I'm visiting my family in Palm Harbor, Tampa. The room was a very nice size with a stove and kitchen ( not that I used it but it was nice to have. All the staff here were very accommodating and very nice. The Best check in ladies Vanessa and Elvie were fabulous and amazing a seriously awesome team and a great representative for the Besso Del Sol. It was also a very Big plus that this place was only 12 minutes from where my sister lives, And 6 minutes from Mainstreet Dunedin. read more

True Florida Charm, we had a balcony room with a water view and the sunsets were beautiful. Room was fully stocked and clean. We read the information sheet so we knew how to get extra towels and how to reach someone if the office was closed. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The hotel has an independently owned bar located onsite Marker 8 nice menu and live music which ended shortly after sunset. It is located on the water but not a beach front hotel. The description of the property is written well and I knew exactly what to expect. We enjoyed our stay and I will be returning. Also Honeymoon Island is a 10 minute drive. read more

A hidden gem walking or biking distance from Downtown Dunedin. Beautiful sunsets every night and the tiki bar is very lively and fun. They give a free shot at sunset time! It was 46 degrees the first night we were there and 34 degrees the net morning. The condo only had a window air conditioner that had been placed in a cutout in the outside wall. There was no heater or heat. We had to buy a small portable heater to stay warm. There were only two thin blankets in the condo. The room was clean. The towels Motel 6 quality. Also there was a smell of must the room. In the bathroom next to the shower the in drywall was rotted and bubbled up probably due to water damage. The staff was nice and the rules clearly spelled out. read more

I stayed here last year using credits through our timeshare exchange program. I'm going back again this summer so I guess that says I enjoyed it. I do have some complaints. THE BAD: We are so used to staying in condos with Washer/Dryer in the room. It was really annoying getting to the washer/dryer facilities (and expensive to use!). Only 2 washers and 2 dryers in the laundry room for the whole complex. After spending days on sandy beaches we had boated over to with all our small children I needed to do laundry frequently. I often walked all the way over carrying all my laundry just to find both machines in use. The zig zag walking! Sounds stupid, I know. But man it was annoying to walk in a zig zag. We were on top floor all the way at end (furthest from elevator) and we'd walk zig zag all the way down to our room and it was hilarious and annoying every time.... we had jokes about it that never got old. The AC didn't seem powerful enough. The upstairs bedroom was hot. The upstairs bathroom was VERY tiny. The bathroom/shower on the main floor was large and spacious. Both bathrooms have a shower stall only. I had a 2 year old that I would have preferred to give baths to but we made it work obviously. Really small kitchen. We travel through a timeshare program most of the time and stay at condos that have really nice kitchens usually. This was definitely the smallest kitchen at any place we had ever stayed through our program... like seriously 1/3 of the size of what we normally have for a 2 bedroom condo. THE GOOD: Location! We loved having our boat docked right there at the hotel. We boated all around. Honeymoon island, Caladesi island, other small islands.... We just had alot of fun on boating adventures. Couldn't have asked for a better location to be docked! We did travel all the way down to Tampa Bay one day. I'd never really desire to stay down that way. I think Dunedin is the perfect location and Beso del Sol in particular is absolutely perfect. Free use of grill. They had one grill near pool patio area. We used it a couple of times to grill burgers and steaks and eat on the pool patio area watching the sun go down. GORGEOUS! There is only one grill but we never saw anyone else using it. Ample parking. Easy to get a spot. They let us park our boat trailer over across the street in their backup parking lot. ************************* So yeah, it wasn't perfect and there were things we complained about but we traveled for 4 straight weeks to different parts of the Gulf Coast with our boat and this was by far the most memorable week because of all the boating adventures we had and the amazing sunsets we took in while sitting by the pool area. It won us over and we willingly overlooked the bad! Especially if you have a boat, this is a great place to stay!!! read more

Visited this location through Global Discovery Vacations, (run the phone number in a search engine for the alias 800-879-7779) which I am a member. We spent the spring break week of Apr 6 - 13, 2013 Over all the resort is top notch, rooms were refinished not long ago, I found the shower to be a bit tight but, who spends their vacation in the shower. The 1 Bedroom we had ( suite , unit, room 324 ) which was spacious with a king sized bed, all the bathing towels, pot pans, full size refrigerator, table seating for 4, pull-out couch, and 2 flat screens with cable, and covered parking under the building, but only limited spaces, which we had no problem acquiring, you'll need find one available. The staff was helpful, pleasant and always ready to provide some fresh pool towels, a bicycle, or information on the area. They have a tiki bar - Marker 8 Tiki Bar & Grill on the property and it seems to always have some folks sitting at the bar. We did not visit the bar or have any of the finger foods the bar offers. You won't have to travel far for breakfast with Chef John's at Beso Del Sol Resort of the 4th floor of the south building, serving your morning favorites with a breathtaking view of St. Josephs Sound. I would suggest you try it. It was wonderful to overlook the sound and enjoy breakfast, at a reasonable price too. Formerly known as the Sailwinds Waterfront Motel, for you folks who wonder, the Beso Del Sol Resort is a quiet place for middle aged folks 45-70ish who are low-keyed. Most rooms are not facing the sound and we could not even see it from our room 324. Not far from Main street Dunedin, a short walk or bike ride on the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail (.08 miles) you can share an Ice cream, pizza, or walk to the near-by pier for the sunset. If you would like to head to Clearwater Florida it is about 20 minute drive although the drive is pleasantly along the waterway most of the trip. Ducked in at the invite of a dear friend and client for some strategic discussion involving real estate, coffee, fascial stretching, and merchant processing. I was unimpressed. Perhaps it is because I stayed in room 201. Here is a list of my grievances: * Horrible torture noises coming from what, the elevator? Chains, mostly during daylight hours... * No lights inside the shower which is walled in and very dark. * Sunken bed with a mattress more tired than Maury Povich. * Tired remote control * Doesn't get dark enough in the room. If you like cold tile flooring, mold and the sound of your neighbors all night stay here in studio. The townhouses aren't much better with outdated furnishings and most so close to the neighboring condos you can reach out the window and touch them. I'm not sure why they call it a resort as the pool is tiny and shared by a spring break style 21 and up deck with loud; drunk people. Food options are extremely limited and served in styrofoam. Drinks are overpriced and hard to come by as the staff is overloaded with the drunk locals. The view from the few waterfront rooms is great but the smell is not! Low tide smells like dead fish and the bugs are terrible! For the same price you can stay down the road in the Holiday Inn which is much closer to downtown Dunedin, updated and clean. read more

Wow, what a great resort. Compared to the other hotels and motels around the downtown Dunedin area; this is the one to go with. Clean exterior, although architecturally speaking - nothing too fancy or interesting. Although, there is a nice fountain near the front entrance. This is a nice and relaxing place that is perfect for a weekend getaway. With not much time to spare we were given a room at the standard (lowest) rate that had a halfway view of the water of St. Joseph Sound/ intercoastal along with some very tall palm trees as a background. Rooms have a spacious balcony with room for a table and a few chairs to enjoy this beautiful view. The balcony is perfect to relax, have family and friends, or to enjoy a nice glass of wine at night or coffee in the morning The room was clean and roomy with a modern, flat screen tv in the room (one of the pictures on this site shows an old cathode ray tube tv - but not in our room). There is a full size fridge (with freezer) in the kitchen area as well as a sink, microwave, and stove-top range. Although the shower itself was sort of small, still nice and roomy enough to enjoy and get clean. Beso Del Sol has two pools, one heated and a jacuzzi. The back also has a dock that leads about 100' out unto the water. Although no gazebo or sitting area at the end but still gives you a chance to be out (sort of) on the water and get a different perspective of the hotel, water, dock, and the sandbars out in the water. The resort has a tiki bar (sort of - not on the sand or anything) at the first floor and a banquet room that serves Sunday brunch on the 4th floor with a view of the water. The staff was friendly and accommodating. At the last second, they even gave us an extra 30 minutes to check out. The great thing about Beso Del Sol is that it is really close to downtown Dunedin and all the bars, restaurants, and clubs in that area. You could walk (about .8 miles) or bike from the resort but a taxi ride will only set you back $5.00. Although not very reliable and only coming about once an hour, there is a trolley system that stops near the resort and can take you in and around town. All in all a great place. Relaxing, good views, comfy, close (but not too close) to the nightlife, great restaurants, and brunch places. Pretty much beats the chain and typical hotels in the area. read more

We stayed at Beso Del Soul this weekend as a last-minute getaway. We are big fans of Dunedin and were thrilled with the accommodations at Beso Del Sol. We had the studio looking out over the water and pool area. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. The studio had a mini-fridge, toaster, microwave and a stove top which is very convenient. Our view was awesome. And the location of the hotel is perfect. There is an entrance to the Pinellas trail right across the street so you can bike or walk to Main St. very easily. We brought our own bikes but noticed that the hotel provides complimentary bikes to guests which is great. You can also arrive by boat if you desire. The pool area is very nice and there is a bar that serves food and drinks which is always a plus. The bath products provided were very nice and there were even makeup wipes...I've never seen that before. My only request would be better bath towels but that's minor. This is a great place to stay in Dunedin, I know we'll be back read more

Received a free voucher to this place for 7 days, it was pretty convenient to the beaches like honeymoon island and clearwater beach being that beso del sol is WATERSIDE not beachside for those looking for a beachfront stay. The room, 324, was an ok room minus a few things but not to big of an issue. LOL. The room has bugs really small ones and BIG ONES, the shower is small and does not have any fan ventilation for steam from how showers. Our room shower temp was really hot and really cold with no in between. The poolside was an ok area, and there is a nice grill in the pool for everyone to use. read more

I have reservations for this weekend. A getaway for my husbands birthday and I wanted to acknowledge Ms.Nancy who I spoke with over the phone in regards to my reservations. Booked thru Expedia and was unhappy with the info they provided me, spoke with Ms.Nancy who was such a lovely lady who showed concern in making sure my reservations were acceptable. She said she would do all that she could to make sure my husband and I got the best room available, as well as an early check-in. My husband and I had been looking for months to find the perfect place for our wedding ceremony and our reception. We where told by a friend to have a look over at the Beso Del Sol or Kiss of the Sun. We jumped at it. When we arrived we spoke to Lou Ann who was just lovely! She sat down with us and asked us what we where looking for, we told her just a place to have about 40 people for our wedding. We had seen the deck and thought that would be perfect, but she had something else in mind, something amazing! She showed us the Penthouse. It was beyond our expectations. This Penthouse is two stories three bedrooms with three full bathrooms and one half, It looks out over the water and is simply amazing! I can not say enough about this place. Once we saw it we were sold. We booked it for our wedding and it was perfect, Lou Ann was such a joy to work with and was there to help us as much or as little as we needed. It held our 45 guests very comfortable. I hear they are expanding the areas for weddings but our sunset deck wedding was just right for us. If you are looking for a place to have a wedding or just a place to escape your normal life this place will take you by surprise! Also, the bar downstairs is great and the people are very friendly we spent a few extra days there after the wedding and enjoyed Dunedin and the Penthouse. read more

We happened upon Beso del Sol as a Direct Exchange from our Timeshare and absolutely LOVED it once we switch rooms. Our original room 418 had a slight smell of mold and had ants. This is the reason for the 4 star and not 5. When we complained they changed our room immediately and we were switch to room 234. I saw that they closed 418 and started repairing it during my stay. The new room was perfect. Our room had a nice walk-in shower, full size refrigerator, and a very comfortable King size bed. The pool and bar area had the perfect amount of busy during the day but enjoyable in the evening. Terrence the bar tender was so funny and delightful. The food and drinks were so good. What an AMAZING find in Dunedin. I'm almost nervous to write review because I don't want this spot to start getting overcrowded. My husband and I were visiting Dunedin for the day and planned to go to the beach. Thanks to the menacing red tide, we were unable to swim in the ocean. Such a bummer... until one of the locals mentioned we could swim at Beso Del Sol Resort if you drink and/or dine at their tiki bar. Too good to be true. We initially visited for drinks, the pool was absolutely stunning and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We got along great talking about sports and the like, so we decided to stay for a while. We drank and swam until we got hungry, and this resulted in me having the BEST ahi tuna I think I've ever had. Their special sandwich was less than $14. You get a huge cut of fish, fries, and tartar sauce (which you don't even need IMO). I am stuck in Orlando dreaming about this resort. Next time we're in Dunedin, not only will we stay for more than one day, we'll absolutely being staying at Beso Del Sol and hopefully having some ahi tuna! PS- the ocean view while swimming didn't hurt either. read more

They care more about the dollar then they do their customers. The manager was patronizing and at one point even put me on speaker phone. Either she was not interested in what I had to say or maybe she was amusing her office staff. I'm very disappointed. I love Dunedin, so now I will need to find another venue for my event planning referrals and out of town guest. read more

This boutique resort was a fun little find in Dunedin. The updated kitchenette with granite countertops and microwave a mini refrigerator and stove top would be nice for a longer stay. Spend the extra $ & get a water view.The tiki bar and the restaurant downstairs was always fun! We ventured down to the pool and it was heated which was nice on a February afternoon although we were unable to use the hot tub because it was closed off for treatment or repair. Another added plus is a boat dock facility. Borrowing the resort bikes added to the fun, and we were able to easily ride bikes the half a mile down to old Dunedin to see craft festivals and visit the restaurants and eight breweries. Lots of fun shops to visit as well. All of the staff was very friendly & super If I could change one thing though, it would be the air conditioning system in the room. The wall unit was noisy, waking me up at night often. read more

The Beso Del Sol resort is extremely unprofessional, rude, and callous. Long story short: Beso Del Sol cancelled a wedding reservation shortly before the wedding, leaving the bride and groom high and dry, without any alternative reservations, without apology, and without enough time to make reservations for similar accommodations elsewhere. Why? Because the owners wanted to visit the resort that same weekend, and the hotel was already completely booked. If you are planning any important event that requires planning months in advance, you should think twice before relying on this incredibly unreliable business. Longer version: Two dear friends of mine are getting married at the beginning of March, 2013. The bride and groom booked a king suite at Beso Del Sol six months in advance of their wedding. The plan was for the bridesmaids and the moms to get ready in the suite at Beso Del Sol - hair, makeup, dresses, mimosas, photos, etc. It was going to be a fun, relaxing pre-wedding gathering, and, importantly, it was close to the ceremony and reception site. At the end of December, an employee of Beso Del Sol called the groom to inform him that they had cancelled their reservations at the resort because the owners wanted to come stay, and they were going to stay in the king suite that the bride and groom had booked. The Beso Del Sol employee further informed the groom that they had absolutely no other rooms to offer them... "Sorry." Now, instead of having the large, private suite for the bride, bridesmaids and moms to get ready, the entire bridal party (bride, groom, bridesmaids, and groomsmen) as well as all of the parents and step parents are getting ready at the bride's father's house (the makeup artists, hair stylists, and photographer will be there, too, of course). That adds up to over 30 people crammed into a single story, single family home getting ready for a wedding. And after the wedding? The bride and groom will be spending their first night together as a married couple at the local Holiday Inn. read more

Recently stayed at this hotel and it was wonderful. The room was reasonably priced, right on the ocean, very clean, and the Management was very friendly and helpful. Our room included a full kitchen and two baths for the price of a regular room! Very nice. Have stayed at similarly priced hotels in the area and none of them beat the quality of Beso Del Sol.
