Looks like it's there permanently. Okay - it's funny to review a Hyatt Place because, on the surface, they're supposed to all be the same. And, really, staying in a chain hotel isn't as much fun as a local inn or privately owned boutique hotel, right? But with the World of Hyatt award program, we tend to stay in them for one-nighters when we're traveling from A-to-B, or to see a one-night event somewhere. I see differences even across the predictable model of suite-like rooms, the predictable breakfast items, and of course, the level of service. Okay - all that said, this property did pretty well upon my first visit last week! Check-in staff was friendly (but I had to ask for my World of Hyatt member free water). Parking is $10/night, not too terrible for Silicon Valley. The free full breakfast was as expected (and very, if not exactly, the same as in every US Hyatt Place): a fresh fruit salad option, a thawed frozen fruit option, oatmeal and toppings, a hot bar (this day had 1-egg omelets, cooked from frozen potato cubes, dry biscuits, and exceptional banger-like sausages- which were much better than the usual hotel sausage patty!). Loose oranges and bananas. Cereals, hard boiled eggs. Very good and plentiful coffee at breakfast. They had tv on playing a local morning news program and staff was doing a good job keeping the dining area clean. The room was clean and in good repair. I like their ottoman / coffee table in the sitting area and the side table that you can pull up to the bed if you're eating takeout in your room at night. There's also the usual wall-length desk/counter with a mini fridge. The coffee station is the old kind (not Keurig) with disposable plastic trays with a filter-bag of bad coffee for a one-cup situation. But it's on a counter by the door, along with the ice bucket and a few glasses, like a little bar. I liked that except that the outlet didn't work, so I had to plug the coffee maker in somewhere else in the room. Not a big deal. The bathroom is big and they're using their standard refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the big, nice shower (with sliding glass door, not a plastic curtain- Hilton, take a note). Front desk was always friendly when I passed by and I saw they had a nice bar and lobby sitting area, though I didn't use either. Parking lot in front and back was well-lit and felt safe. The location is in a sea of car dealerships but there's a neighborhood behind it with trees and a sidewalk so you could take a walk easily here. Also, there's a Costco down the street, which was bananas busy when I stopped in for some discounted liquor, but still convenient for gas and what have you. I'd return!

My boyfriend booked our first night through a third party site. When we checked in, we noticed the refrigerator wasn't working and one of the lights was out. I went to the front desk, and Braden was incredibly friendly and quick to help. He immediately offered to move us to another room on the same floor. I asked if we could avoid being near the elevator, and they happily accommodated that request. The new room ended up being next to the housekeeping area, but it wasn't a big deal. We also didn't receive fresh towels or housekeeping during our stay, but that was actually my fault because I accidentally left the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. The highlight of our stay was how accommodating the staff was. We had only booked one night but decided we wanted to stay another. Since I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member, Mohammed and Braden made the process so easy by booking the second night under my account and letting us remain in the same room instead of having to pack up and move. I especially want to recognize Mohammed for his kindness. There was a large Indian event taking place at the hotel, and I was heading to the pool in my swimsuit with a cover up while my boyfriend was still napping. A large group of men from the event was gathered near the lobby watching the World Cup, and I felt a little uncomfortable walking past them alone. Mohammed noticed and kindly walked me to the pool area so I would feel more at ease. It was such a thoughtful gesture that I truly appreciated. Thank you to Mohammed and Braden for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their genuine hospitality turned a stay with a few minor hiccups into a great experience.

I spoke with Tamara and Sierra (I called twice) and clearly said that I was interested in booking through Resort Pass and was told that the $15 parking only applies for overnight stays. They issue a paper parking permit once you pay the $15. Since we were just there to use the pool, the $15 didn't apply to us. Then I asked if the 8:00am to 5:00pm time on ResortPass was correct, I was told that the pool hours are actually 8am to 10pm. So I went ahead and booked. First of all, please note that there's 2 Sonesta in Milpitas that are 5 minutes away from each other. I went to the Sonesta Milpitas first and was told we were in the wrong place. Sonesta Milpitas is walking distance to a shopping area with lots of restaurants. We had to go to Sonesta Silicon Valley (SV) 5 minutes away through the streets. When we arrived, we already noticed the difference. The Milpitas location looks so much nicer than SV location. The receptionist at the Milpitas location look more elegant and well-mannered. The Milpitas lobby looks more inviting. When we checked in at SV location at 2:00 pm I was told that pool hours is until 4pm. Like what? I told them I called and was told pool hours are actually until 10pm but was not told that time is only good for guests staying overnight and that Tamara and Sierra works at the Milpitas location. So I had to pull up my ResortPass app to show hours are until 5pm. The other lady at the counter, maybe manager heard our conversation since she was next to her and without looking at the app on my phone made it seem like she was doing me a favor and commented "Let them stay until 5pm". She clearly wrote on the paper key card sleeve "5pm" like it was very mandatory we leave at 5pm or they will send that National Guard to hunt us down to kick us out. Also, for ResortPass guests, they will still need a credit card and will charge $25 for incidentals just in case there are damages to the room. I told the receptionist that we don't have a room and she was like "I meant the pool". When we got to the pool, no one was there. It was very empty. They made it seem like as if the pool is in such huge demand and that we were invading it by booking through ResortPass. The pool is small and oddly shaped. The photo on ResortPass shows the hot tub was next to the pool but it's been moved. There's a huge wall now in between the pool and hot tub. What is this wall for? It can't be for privacy when there's hotel room windows overlooking the pool and the hot tub. Because of this wall, when we moved from pool to hot tub, we had to bring all of our stuff that were in the loungers by the pool to the loungers by the hot tub as you can't see your stuff. The pool was cold. The pool had guests that stayed there for an hour at the most and there were only a few families that we saw use it. I'm guessing because the water was so cold. It was not heated which is why we moved to the hot tub. The hot tub jets stay only for 15 minutes and it was very inconsistent. The jets were very weak and some don't work at all. The hot tub had paint peeling. The restroom locations were inconvenient at the pool. In order to use it, we had to go back into the hotel, past the restaurant, past the lobby into a long hallway. There's also some sort of loud noises that keeps going in and out, some type of loud construction happening outside, but around the pool, so it's not easy to relax. It's quite distracting. When we checked out at 5pm, the two young ladies didn't even say goodbye to us. They didn't ask how our stay was or anything. They didn't even look in the computer to check us out, they just took the room key and had a very forced smiles like they were so happy that the riffraffs finally left the building. So ResortPass guests are treated very differently than guests staying there like we are somehow trespassing even though we payed through the app for the use of the pool.

Additionally, they have a small lobby market stocked with yogurts, cheeses, beer, and snacks. Parking is free and plenty around the property. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location-wise, it is directly across from a plaza featuring a Starbucks, a bagel shop, and quick dining options like Mendocino Farms, The Habit, and an Asian fusion teriyaki restaurant, making it convenient for a quick bite for lunch or dinner. I arrived after 9:30 PM, check-in was quick, and the property looked well maintained. My room was spotless, and the bed was extremely comfortable. After a long day with my team, I got a great night's sleep. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. I woke up around 4:40 AM to finish preparing for a two-hour presentation I was giving later that morning. After working on my laptop for a few minutes, the power in the sleeping/couch area went out. I found the electrical panel in the room and reset the breaker. The power came back on, but only for a few minutes before it tripped again. I reset it four different times with the same result. Eventually, I gave up. I decided I'd take a shower, check out, and finish my work in the hotel lobby instead. The shower wasn't much better. Even with the temperature turned all the way to hot, it took more than a minute before the water was warm enough to get in. By the end of the shower, it was only lukewarm. As I was leaving the room, the door wouldn't close because the deadbolt had partially extended. I had to go back inside, work the handle until it retracted, and then leave again. The most disappointing part of the stay came at checkout. I explained that I was checking out early because the power kept going out in my room. The only response I received was, "Do you want your receipt printed?" There was no apology, no follow-up questions, and no indication that anyone intended to investigate the problem. I worked in the lobby until it was time to meet my colleagues. When they showed up at 8 AM, I told them about my experience that morning. Another guest overheard my conversation and said they had also experienced only lukewarm water that morning, so my shower experience wasn't an isolated one. Will I stay here again? No. There are several other Marriott properties nearby, and next time I'll choose one of them.

We had asked to drop off luggage ahead of check in and returned later to present our claim ticket as well as check in. I had requested for a mobile key, but they didn't set it up...Oh well, physical key card it is lol. What was ordered: - Corner King (comfortable room with floor to ceiling windows on the two sides of the corner walls which lets in plenty of natural light. The windows also have sheer and black out curtains. It's all very open concept with the sink area pretty much being the center of the room. The shower and toilets are behind their own doors but the bathroom is not a separate area from the bedroom. There's a small open closet area, and the mini fridge (with 2 bottles of complementary water) and safe are located on the other side of the sink, facing the bed. There's a TV facing the bed and a desk and chair set to the side. A nice thing is that they have a water station with refillable bottles that you can use.) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. The hotel was very nicely designed and felt super comfortable upon entry. I loved the natural lighting in the Corner King room. The staff members were friendly and the room was comfortable. If any establishment deserves negative stars, this place would definitely be it! On late Tuesday night/early Wednesday of May 20/21, 2025, I walked in past midnight to book a stay. Unfortunately, AC Hotel was fully booked. Fine. I asked the front desk agent, Roselyn, if I could stay in the lobby to search for another Marriott hotel stay since I am a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Member. She agreed, but after I used the restroom in the lobby and told her that all of the lavatories needed attention (NONE of the toilets were flushed, GROSS!), she seemed to change her mood. For some odd reason that night, the Marriott site was down and I could not view any available hotel rooms, so had to call Customer Service. I was put on hold for quite some time because all of the hotels in Santa Clara were fully booked. After a few minutes, Roselyn kicked me out of the hotel because "non-guests are not allowed to be in the lobby after a certain time." I asked her to make a special consideration for me because I was stranded and had no hotel room yet. She did not care and insisted that I leave and even fetched the security guard. She knew that I was alone with no place to go. She had no idea if I had transportation to go somewhere in the middle of the night. I felt like a criminal by Roselyn's unfriendly and incompassionate treatment. What extreme inhospitable treatment by someone in the hospitality industry! My experience prompted me to send feedback through the Marriott website and to call the AC Hotel to connect with the Hotel Manager, Fernando... I called on May 24 and Camille told me that Fernando would call me by Monday, the 26th. May 26 - no call from Fernando, so I called again and spoke to Shane who left a second message for Fernando. May 29 - still no call from Fernando, so I called again and left another message with Shane. Sholanda ended up calling me back instead. Not only did Fernando neglect to return my calls, my conversation with Sholanda was extremely disappointing and, frankly, shocking. I am starting to believe that the staff falls short of giving proper satisfactory customer service because management provides poor examples - After I filled Sholanda in on my interaction with Roselyn, she defended her team member by saying, "What kind of special consideration were you expecting? I wasn't there, so I can't say if Roselyn handled the situation inappropriately. Afterall, we do have protocol that non-guests should not be in the lobby after a certain time." I told her that I appreciate the protocol that looks out for the safety of AC guests and staff; however, although I was not a current guest at the time, I am still a Marriott Bonvoy customer and deserved a level of human compassion. When I told Sholanda that I work in the customer service field and found my treatment as unacceptable and offensive, Sholanda asked in what field because she wanted to compare if my expectations of Roselyn were aligned with hospitality. I told her that her inquiry was inappropriate, reminding her that it doesn't matter what field I am in because the goal of customer service is to ensure that clients feel valued and respected. Roselyn did not behave in such fashion. That is the core of the problem. Sholanda did not seem to understand this concept as she seemed more concerned with hearing Roselyn's side of the story. WOW. We ended the conversation with Sholanda telling me that she would have Fernando call me back. It's now the night of June 11 and I have not heard from him. There is definitely something wrong with the team at AC San Jose Santa Clara - AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!

If you have status, you are able to access their pantry which provides unlimited drinks, coffee, snack, snacks, and some package food items to enjoy throughout your day and stay. They do not have a lounge. The king bedroom suite in the tower is quite comfortable. There was a separate living space, full bedroom, full bathroom and a small bar area that has a small refrigerator in the cabinet underneath. We were always greeted when we entered and depart the property as we walked by the front desk. Very nice staff. Location was great, it was close by two the 101 freeway. There are a few eateries and Starbucks across the street.

The hotel lobby is very nice and spacious, plenty of lounge areas. Registration was fast and easy. Great customer service and we got a free upgrade to a suite on the 3rd floor. Our room was clean with a living space area and a comfortable King bed. Slept like a baby. Bathroom is spacious inside and shower had good water pressure. There are two on-site restaurants and a bar/lounge, coffee shop/cafe. Breakfast is available. There is also a beautiful garden onsite. The flatscreen TV's have an option to watch regular TV, stream, or login your media and access your content. Hubby liked this feature. We would stay here again... let's go, Niners! Review #3940
