Room tip: even-numbered rooms face the back- quieter and less light pollution. Odd-numbered rooms face the front and, besides the highway being right there, there's also a flashing blue police light of a mobile surveillance unit that would surely annoy me at night. Looks like it's there permanently. Okay - it's funny to review a Hyatt Place because, on the surface, they're supposed to all be the same. And, really, staying in a chain hotel isn't as much fun as a local inn or privately owned boutique hotel, right? But with the World of Hyatt award program, we tend to stay in them for one-nighters when we're traveling from A-to-B, or to see a one-night event somewhere. I see differences even across the predictable model of suite-like rooms, the predictable breakfast items, and of course, the level of service. Okay - all that said, this property did pretty well upon my first visit last week! Check-in staff was friendly (but I had to ask for my World of Hyatt member free water). Parking is $10/night, not too terrible for Silicon Valley. The free full breakfast was as expected (and very, if not exactly, the same as in every US Hyatt Place): a fresh fruit salad option, a thawed frozen fruit option, oatmeal and toppings, a hot bar (this day had 1-egg omelets, cooked from frozen potato cubes, dry biscuits, and exceptional banger-like sausages- which were much better than the usual hotel sausage patty!). Loose oranges and bananas. Cereals, hard boiled eggs. Very good and plentiful coffee at breakfast. They had tv on playing a local morning news program and staff was doing a good job keeping the dining area clean. The room was clean and in good repair. I like their ottoman / coffee table in the sitting area and the side table that you can pull up to the bed if you're eating takeout in your room at night. There's also the usual wall-length desk/counter with a mini fridge. The coffee station is the old kind (not Keurig) with disposable plastic trays with a filter-bag of bad coffee for a one-cup situation. But it's on a counter by the door, along with the ice bucket and a few glasses, like a little bar. I liked that except that the outlet didn't work, so I had to plug the coffee maker in somewhere else in the room. Not a big deal. The bathroom is big and they're using their standard refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the big, nice shower (with sliding glass door, not a plastic curtain- Hilton, take a note). Front desk was always friendly when I passed by and I saw they had a nice bar and lobby sitting area, though I didn't use either. Parking lot in front and back was well-lit and felt safe. The location is in a sea of car dealerships but there's a neighborhood behind it with trees and a sidewalk so you could take a walk easily here. Also, there's a Costco down the street, which was bananas busy when I stopped in for some discounted liquor, but still convenient for gas and what have you. I'd return! read more

Almost 4 stars. Welcoming staff. Small store at check-in counter. Nice, new-ish hotel - featuring clean, well appointed, ample sized rooms. Comfortable bed, quality linens. Small pool and a fitness center with a variety of fitness equipment. Cons: On-site restaurant and bar CLOSED. Refillable water bottle station out of order. No fans in the fitness center which made the room too warm. Bath-mat (see photos) tucked into the back of the bottom shelf = Location is not convenient for elderly or folks with limited mobility. read more

Food: 1/5 It is nice to see that they cook the food in Le Creuset, however, the food needs improvement. Like the scrambled eggs was very bad texture and taste wise. The oatmeal was super dry and so I had to add oatmeal milk that was offered. The fresh fruit was a nice addition. Wheat toast meh, not fresh tasting. Service: Not applicable for breakfast as it's self service buffet style. 0/5 for housekeeping. They only folded/tucked back the bedding and replaced the towels. No vacuuming or mopping the bathroom floors. Not sure why housekeeping took so long for each room as I saw towels tossed outside of each room but there's no additional cleaning provided ?!?! To re-emphasize, the toilet/sink/shower areas were still left uncleaned. 0/5 for front desk male/they reception. Requested and wanted to confirm twice starting at 11am for housekeeping for the room and then again at 3:30pm. I checked in between twice and still no housekeeping. He/they must have forgot, but it wasn't very busy and I reminded twice?!?! Finally at 3:45pm the front desk reception shift changed and Serina was super helpful and nice to actually call the housekeeping to confirm and luckily she/they were successful in ensuring our room would get the cleaning. Honestly, upset that it appeared housekeeping was just avoiding our room as they went to the other rooms throughout the day... and so super happy I was able to have Serina help me here. The general manager Luiz was very nice and helpful. In the afternoon offering water to the hotel stay guests in the lobby and checking in on how things are with each person. Ambiance: 2/5 for a modern Hyatt branch hotel, expected more from this place... The gym is pretty good. Great cardio equipment and some light weights. read more

I took my daughter here to spend a night due to home repairs. The room that we got was facing the freeway but we didn't hear any noises while we were inside the room. The room was clean and we received all the standard necessities we needed. WiFi and breakfast were included but unfortunately, all the "hot" food at the breakfast area were cold and soggy. Parking was $15 a night. I'm slightly disappointed that the hotel charged for parking. The hotel had plentiful of parking and it was located within the Newark auto dealerships so unless you're staying at the hotel, you would not be parking there. When we checked out, the front desk said we were going to get a credit for the reservation deposit and for parking (due to being a Hyatt member?) but I've still haven't seen the credit for the parking fee. read more

We stayed 2 nights here recently and it was a pleasant experience. I wasn't sure we would stay for 2 nights at first, so I booked a Saturday night first and then a few days later added a Friday night when there were no more queen 2-beds room left. The first night, we got a room on the 3rd floor with a King bed and sofa bed as that was all that's left and when we got there, it turned out to be an accessible room which would not have been a problem except that the shower was wide open (understandably for wheelchair access) with just a curtain, so water got all over the floor of the whole bathroom. The toilet was also very small, and the sofa bed was not comfortable, so we decided not to stay in the same room (that was an option) for the second night. We were able to leave our luggage at the front desk who stored them for us while we went out for the day the next morning. When we got back we were given a different room still on the 3rd floor, with 2 queens and a walk-in shower with sliding glass doors so that was a much better experience. We slept better and the room felt cozier. The hotel was pretty quiet the whole time we were there, except for during breakfast time, there really were a TON of people on Saturday morning, as expected since the hotel was fully booked Friday night according to the front desk staff. Gym was smaller but had several treadmills, 1 elliptical machine, and 2 pelaton bikes that required subscription so that was pointless. There were some weights and a yoga ball and a rowing machine too. Pretty decent fitness center. Indoor pool was quite dirty the one evening we swam there. I had my kids rinse right away afterwards. That was disappointing. No hot tub that I could recall. The included breakfast was good both mornings, and most items were served in Le Creuset Dutch ovens to keep warm. There were scrambled eggs, sausages, tortillas and bacon bits, pancakes, and breakfast potatoes. There were also cut fresh fruits and yogurt, with the more typical items such as cereal, breads, milk, tea, coffee, and oatmeal w/fixings (granola, dried cranberries, almond flakes, coconut flakes (more special item not usually seen), and brown sugar). However, staff had a hard time keeping up with demand on Saturday morning, but they were still trying hard to refill everything as quickly as possible, so that was commendable, but you could tell they were pretty stressed out. Sunday morning was much more pleasant as there were significantly fewer guests. However, they didn't have scrambled eggs and the blueberry compote was the same dish as yesterday w/no blueberries left in it at all, so it was basically a bowl of blueberry juice. Instead of sausages, it was Canadian bacon (round slices of ham), and strips of delicious French toast instead of pancakes. The other items: Steel Cut Oatmeal, fresh fruit, granola, and yogurt were also available. One bad point though is there are no microwaves and also the fridge is just a tiny fridge with NO freezer in it, so our frozen treats melted overnight and were barely cold when we had to check out. Also the tiles in our first room's shower were not clean, both wall and floors needed more deep cleaning. But second room was a lot cleaner. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the front desk staff was polite both days and they were even able to store some frozen treats we had bought the first day that needed to be frozen while we switched rooms. There's a Costco close by as well as a mall (kind of a smaller basic one) with a movie theatre. read more

My wife told me the reviews are horrible, but we gave it a shot since this was closer than the fremont location and they didn't charge for parking. Issues I noticed: I'd first like to say whoever designed this place did not think it thoroughly. Why the heck are there only ev, handicap and compact spots in the main parking lot?? I parked in the back lot to realize there is no access! Long walk to the side or front entrance. Fire whoever designed it. Not a single trash bin in site when I entered the place. Had to walk into the restroom to find 2 tiny little bins. Elevator buttons not working properly. I had to press up in order for the down button to light up. One of the elevators does not light the L level up. Screws were sticking out the elevator panels. Overall the place is fairly new and clean. They have a security vehicle in the parking lot at night which I assume is to deter vehicle break ins. For the price I think people will tolerate the complaints I pointed out. read more

Stayed here with my family of 5, 3 boys age range 2-8, and we loved this hotel so much that my 6 year old cried leaving. The room was super clean, we fit in the 2 queen bed room, customer service was great, and loved the free breakfast- delish selection and coffee. The gym was really big and clean for a hotel gym also. We stayed right on the first floor by the elevators, the very first room, so it was a bit noisy but we were able to sleep. The location is so great too, close to new park mall, Costco, lots of Asian eateries nearby. We will be back every year to visit family and friends! One of our favorite hotels ever! read more

This location (although new), still needs A LOT of work. When I came to check in, staff mentioned they had just opened a week prior. Issues during our stay: -Staff needs training at reception. I've stayed at a lot of Hyatt's the last few weeks and this was the most off-brand. No mention of status. Had to ask for water, and staff was asking each other how to work through issues. Hopefully as time passes, staff gets more experience. -Elevator buttons really need a rework. At times an elevator didn't go to certain floors or buttons were not working. Really alarming to have elevator issues already. -Water pressure was pathetic. Had to have maintenance come look at it, mentioned rocks in the showerhead, cleared it. Helped a little bit, but still odd to have a new hotel and subpar water pressure. Staff was a bit awkward about the situation when I brought it to their attention. -Breakfast was really terrible. One of the worst I've had at Hyatt locations. -Small parking spaces out front ("clean air vehicle" is misspelled...), goes to show how unorganized opening the hotel was -Housekeeping should have a list of when folks are checking out. Even if there is no DND tag, they shouldn't need to knock on the door in the morning if it isn't even close to noon. (Also, our DND tag randomly got taken as well) Pros at this spot: -Room/bed had a nice new feel -Fitness room looked nice, but didn't get a chance to use -Free parking This Hyatt really needs to tidy up a lot of items. The other benefit is that it is on the more budget friendly side...so I would potentially be open to coming back in the future once they get some experience under their belt. read more

This was my first experience at a Hyatt hotel, and I was highly disappointed. 1. There was an extra $600 dollar hold on my card, that NO ONE could explain. 2. Only one of the "Blink" vehicle chargers worked, and only half the time. but this "wasn't their responsibility" 3. They never enforced parking for the EV spots so literally any vehicle could park there and block an EV from charging 4. The toted "24/7" Restaurant was rarely open. When asked about getting food I was given a hesitant "I guess I could ask". and this was WITH the 24/7 sign out. Even when I asked to speak to a manager I wasn't able to. Ugh, so hard to review a hotel that looks as nice and new as this location. The location is kinda scary. It has so much trash and homeless on and around the grounds. There's a security guard, my husband swore he saw one. But I never did. The start was bad, they were unorganized and only had two people running the whole show.. everyday, all 3 days we stayed. The cleaning staff were cleaning passed 5 pm on the first and 3rd floor. This was not a large Hyatt. The rooms looked great. Really liked the new additions added to the suites. The bed was comfortable- this is the reason for the star. The shower was large and spacious but the water pressure was low and took forever to wash the soap down my legs..... "Restaurant", was more like a corner store but with way fewer options... and what options they did have, half the meals were made without the seasonings. I.e. parm fries were still charged the same price without the seasonings. I declined it. I had $25 meal credit, didn't even want to use it. The wings were undercooked, dry and no flavor. Not crispy, definitely microwaved. The same guy who checked me in was also making the food.... We witnessed other guests have similar issues and overhead them voicing the problems they have encountered. My husband chatted it up with a few and it seems like this is a problem with this location. I did call Hyatt and they are aware of this location and the hx of problems. Do they care? No- It's a busy hotel and still generating business. I go between Hilton and Hyatt a lot pending locations- definitely liking Hilton more after this stay. read more

World class service by all the staff I met or interacted with. Anish the GM is Excellent at what he does and obviously trained and influenced his team member as well. All the bad reviews I've read, I'm sure Anish will fix or turn this place to their standards. Hopefully Hyatt HQ provides more resources for Anish and his team to accomplish making this branch into a 5 star destination. Worst hotel experience ever. Showed up after check-in time 3 pm, rooms not ready until 4:30 pm and we drove 7.5 hours to get there. Apparently, there is ONLY one person who can cook food in the afternoon, turn on the oven for warm breakfast, and tend the FULL bar. When he or she is late, or calls on sick, your money is wasted...DO NOT stay here. On-site management does not even care. Starbucks signs everywhere, not actually offered. Bar and food hours posted are not reality. There seems to be only one person who can turn on the oven for hot breakfast, one person who makes food offered, and one person to make drinks at the bar. Seemingly that one person is not the same, but for 3 days that one person for each was nowhere to be found and the front desk had no clue. Worst hotel experience, would never stay here or any affiliated again! read more

Our family contacted the front desk at 6:30 AM today to request service for our clogged toilet. We were informed that the engineer was not available and were advised to use the common bathroom in the lobby. I offered to unclog the toilet myself if they could provide a plunger, but I was told that the plunger was located in the engineering office and they didn't have access to it. This is a clear example of poor customer service and inadequate contingency planning by the management. Something as basic as a plunger should be easily accessible so that entire families don't have to get dressed at 6:30 AM to use the lobby bathroom. Additionally, the rooms were not clean, with food stains on the sofa and marks all over the walls. The toilets also do not flush completely unless the lever is held down the entire time. Furthermore, the rooms have an unpleasant odor. Rooms are also poorly insulated. Overall, this has been a very negative experience. read more

Very clean but there were some issues. 1. The bathroom lights do not stay on. While in the shower they go off and its very dark. Dangerous, could fall easily especially on slippery tile. No hooks in the bathroom to hang your towel. Bathroom door does not stay open, gets hot when moisture from the shower can't ve released. Refrigerator but mo microwave. Ants even got in my car thru the sunroof while staying there. Ants in the bed, sink, our bags, then front desk said we have to wait 1 hr then when i go downstairs and complain heavily because our fridge also barely worked he changed the room right away. Terrible. Ants in room. Staff came in and sprayed ant spray and said that should help. They only kept coming out other places. My son is allergic to insect bites so we requested a new room. When requesting new room they said none were available. Staff said they would give a refund but we had to go through Expedia. We waited 15 plus minute and when we asked what was happening they said oh I didn't know you were waiting. Too many guest for the 2 employees at the front. You can wait for your refund in a few days. Under staffed. Definitely need to get it together considering they're a "new" hotel. read more

I really don't understand why the ratings are so bad. I stayed here this past Monday through Wednesday and the staff was above and beyond friendly. I was able to utilize the car chargers which was a nice convenience. No issues with car break ins here, at least for my stay (an apparent issue for this area not necessarily this hotel) I felt like this was a good location overall, next to the highway and near plenty of restaurants. The rooms are large with a comfortable bed and a nice sectional couch. Linens and towels were all crisp and smelt fresh. My room, like the rest of the hotel, was spotlessly clean from top to bottom. It was as if no one had ever stayed there before. There is some finishing construction going on during the day but it's barely noticeable and it seems to be almost completed. No ant problem during my stay either. Nor could I hear any noise from any of the other rooms. The only thing from the other reviews that I did notice was the elevators are on the slower side, but that's not the hotels fault. And if that's the only thing I saw wrong with this place during my three day stay, I'd say that's pretty good. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area. I guarantee you won't find anything nicer anywhere nearby. read more

They provided me with good recommendations to local restaurants which have been amazing.
