Our room was fine- good Wi-Fi, good AC, plenty of outlets, a comfy bed, decent cable TV, and a nice bathroom with a good shower. Average breakfast buffet with eggs, sausage patties, pancakes, waffles, cereal, yogurt and breads. Zero complaints at all. read more

I wasn't a fan of this hotel, let alone my room. The lighting was dull and it smelled slightly musty. The walk-in closet needed new wallpaper and/or the carpet deep cleaned. It smelled old and neglected. The shower converter didn't work so I had to take a bath at 5am; worse, I also needed to wash my hair. Additionally, the outlet in the bathroom also didn't work, so I had to walk back and forth between the mirror in the bathroom and the bedroom to blow dry and style my hair. I made the staff aware of the issue during the day while I was out of the room, and they sent someone to fix the shower, but the outlet remained unusable. The next morning I went to take a shower and no water came out. Housekeeping only took the trash and provided fresh towels most days of my stay. They made the bed once and didn't rinse/wipe down the tub or sink at all. The elevators are slow, the breakfast was bland, and the fitness center was under renovation. The staff recommended going to another fitness center at the neighboring Marriott property, free of charge. And of course, there were the slamming doors that shook the walls. I was beyond ready to get out of there. The customer service was fine and the proximity to stores and restaurants was excellent, but the hotel's design and decor is over a decade old. I was lucky enough to have the one shower that was different than all the others in the hotel, yet, I was only able to use it twice during a three night stay. I should have my basic needs met without having to switch rooms or hotels. I will not return. read more

This property, although it looks new, leaves alot to be desired. No room cleaning on a 2 night stay ( even though they supposedly clean daily) Only one elevator was working the entire holiday weekend. The gym was under repair (we could use the one across the parking lot) the pool was closed Sunday with a hotel full of kids. The free breakfast- although the lady did her best to keep up- they ran out of plate and bowls but kept filling the food. The waffle maker on the left doesnt work- maybe management could remove it? The room was clean but some clear signs of wear, namely the shower door had a plastic piece to close the gap on the door. That was broken and we wound up with alot of water on the floor. As a person that just came off of a serious illness I was highly disappointed that I had to drive three hours and stay at such a dirty establishment. I was advised to email the manager in general manager, whose names are Patricia and Alicia. Personally, after checking in and then looking at the recent reviews, it appears that this is a scam because how are you still collecting money and not addressing the issue. I have videos of rusted and molded fire extinguisher. The wall in the bathroom was and was cracking and peeling. The ceiling had a horrible tape job that was done. were stains on the lampshade. When we got to the hotel only one staffer manning the entire property back and front no one at the reception to greet but finally a young man shows up from the back of off the rating area, he was nice and fast to get us our keys, it was a late night for us . We had to stay at this hotel as we were passing through the area visiting friends. I have been a Marriott owner for over 20 years and have stayed at many Marriott hotels world wide. It saddens me to say this, on how disappointed I was to walk into a room at this hotel. The room size was ok, the shower was ok, but the condition of the room, oh boy! The carpet as soon as my husband and I opens the door saw the most disgusting large patch on the carpet don't know what it was or how long it was there, why it was there, what it was; but it was disgusting; more than just a normal staging for sure. So large and disgusting we were scared to take my shoes off our shoes and let what ever it was touch clothing or socks or our feet . I have never ever seen a Marriott property under this franchise in this condition we were so so disappointed, but it was too late to find another place to stay or moved to, So we just sucked it up and made the best of it to get thru the night and get out of the hotel. I am some sad to make this review . So sad. But it needs to be mentioned Marriott should hold a better quality standard. I like their consistent quality, and the Springhill Suites has always met my needs. Not this one. 1. The room they gave us had one bedside light torn off the wall, and the other was not working. The theme of this hotel seems to be "not quite." It looks like it was refurbished pretty recently, but the shower cover wasn't attached. The room was missing the toilet paper holder and the bed skirt. The remote didn't work and I had to call for a new one (batteries were dead). We have stayed at many Marriots during the pandemic- this was the first one where no one masked, not even in our room. The hot tub floor was coming apart. When we checked in there was no acknowledgement of our gold status. And the room was missing conditioner. We called. An hour later no conditioner. We called again. Half hour later no conditioner. Ended up getting it ourselves at the front desk. In all the service was poor and not up the standards we expected. Upon checkout on Sunday a masked front desk employee apologized about the room and offered points without prompting. That is more along the lines of what I would expect. Traveling in the time of COVID is tough but we HAD to break up our 10+ hr trip from Pittsburgh to NH so this hotel was a good stopping point for us. I chose this based on its pool, hot tub, free breakfast and location. The redemption amount for points did not accurately reflect the service and amenities (lack of). I had reviewed their website carefully and NOWHERE does it state that breakfast and pool has been canceled! I would have chosen the Sheraton or any other hotel based on this crucial updated information. You would think that it would be cheaper to stay here but NOPE. On our way to NH, we stayed at a Residence Inn in Newburgh, NY and they not only had an open heated pool, they still gave guests individual breakfast bags with a bottled water, a pre packaged coffee cake, a muffin and a banana. It's not a full breakfast but it's something! It's actually quite considerate in pandemic times! This location didn't even have many food options available in its market pantry. The guy at check in said we could grab a snack to compensate for not having breakfast included, which was nice. He was very friendly and helpful. In the morning however, I was met with a grouchy Karen-like middle aged woman at the front desk. When I asked if I could grab just one snack (like chips or cookies or something) for my 3 year old who had finished her orange I packed an hour ago and was totally, reasonably hungry at breakfast time, she gave me the most outraged look and said "absolutely not, unless you want to charge it to your room." $4 for a tiny bag of cookies? No thanks! How is this compensation for offering no breakfast that was clearly stated on all the fact sheets for your hotel?! Like, wow, could you have acted anymore less decent in the situation? That aside, here are the other negative factors about this hotel: -had a "business center" but neither of the 2 PCs connected online. Seriously? How is anyone supposed to print their boarding pass or anything else from their email, website, etc.? -there was a group of 8 kids under 12 just running around playing tag and catch in the parking lot (I believe all from the same family) from 10pm - 11pm and then again at 10am when we were checking out. They were loud, screaming, completely unsupervised and any employee of the hotel (esp. the receptionist) should probably have enquired about their parents or told them that a parking lot is NOT the safest place to play in at any hour of the day. -hung out the "do not disturb" sign on our door but a staff member knocked loudly on our door at about 9:30am proclaiming "housekeeping!" Like, yes, do you not see this sign? Does it not mean anything to you? Why have these signs at all...? Do not recommend at all. There are tons of other hotels nearby. Choose any of them. read more

We stayed at this hotel this past weekend. Our room was disgusting. There were stains EVERYWHERE, the carpet, the furniture, ew. There was dirt on the bathroom floor and the fridge didn't work. There was no remote for the television and when we called the front desk we were told they didn't have any extras. I went to the exercise room and the TV on the treadmill didn't work. I turned on the TV on the wall and that didn't work either! oh and the dresser was broken !! There are so many other hotels in this area, you really need to up your game! read more

This hotel was a last minute quick find. I booked a suite with two queen beds. Check in was super fast. The room was clean and cozy when we arrived. We needed more towels which we were promptly given to us. Also, the AC was on full blast upon arriving. It was nice because it was super hot outside. There was an indoor pool and hot tub. They supply towels specifically for the pool. The room is muggy and smells highly of chemicals. The smell is obviously from chlorine but it was strong and one of my travel pals got a bloody nose from it. The rest of us got stuffy noses and headaches from the smell. The next morning we checked out the breakfast station and it consisted of basic items like cereal, toast, muffins, eggs, sausage, yogurt, and juices. Strangely they leave the butter and cream cheese out, not in a bowl with ice like I've seen other hotels do so the cream cheese was warm and undesirable to put on my bagel. Also, part of the bagel was hard before I even toasted it because they let the breads sit out uncovered. The best part of the breakfast was the cinnamon muffins. Overall this hotel was fine. It is near a lot of stores and restaurants. The highway is just a short drive away as well. read more

If you are a member of Marriott rewards and stay at Marriotts frequently, you will be sorely disappointed with this location. The front desk service is lacking, customer service is nonexistent, the pool area was dirty, the pool itself was so cloudy that you could not see the stair entering the pool, there were no pool towels. I had to go to the front desk to get pool towels. The furniture in our room broke and was not fixed during our stay. The TV did work correctly and we were informed that there was nothing that could be done. When our room did not get cleaned, I called to ask why and was told, because you did not request it. I asked that clean towels be provided and was told I could come to the front desk if I wanted clean towels. While we were there the girls Villanova college was staying at the hotel and instead of being properly staffed to handle the volume of customers, the front desk was staffed with 1 experienced staff member and a new hire who was being trained. The hotel manager should have properly staffed the hotel when this type of volume is expected and not use short staff and use this as a training event. read more

This was truly one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a hotel. They moved me from my room because they had water issues of some sort. When they moved me from my room to another room there was no hot water.I called the desk and took them hours to do or say anything. In the confusion of moving me from one room to another. I lost my keys. Due to that issue I I asked for help from the front desk to give me a late check out and the managers phone number. At which point they sent three reps to tell me that if I didn't leave they would charge me again. They also told me that the manager was at a meeting, that he would leave under no circumstances. This hotel and its staff totally disrespected and undermined my family. This are heartless people who had no sympathy for a paying customer. Front desk empty on multiple occasions. Charged $5 (a night?) for parking in the middle of nowhere. Like really? Food from the previous guests was left in our mini fridge. I stayed at this hotel while passing through on my way to New York. I came in with a big group and the staff was very friendly. Upon arrival one of the staff came out to greet us. The rooms were very clean. The beds had book lights posted on the headboard and I thought that was nice. The tv had a good selection of channels and the hotel had breakfast downstairs. There was also a store where you could buy snacks. The hotel was in walking distance of a movie theater, an Italian restaurant, a Ruby Tuesday, and long Horne was across the high way in a shopping center. Upon check-in the receptionist simply said four words "credit card, room 422" no smile, no greeting, No recognition of lifetime platinum member. Upon entering the room, it was clean and well-kept. Upon returning to the room the next evening, we discovered the room was not made up. When inquiring at the desk, they said this location no longer provides daily room service. Because of Covid,If you want your room serviced you have to call ahead of time. WHAT?? I never heard of such a thing. We were at this exact same location back in October with full housekeeping service. I don't know what the Covid pandemic has to do with daily housekeeping and sanitizing your room. However, after requesting housekeeping service for the next day,when I returned to the room the next evening , we discovered the bed was made, however there was no coffee, no coffee cups, garbage cans overflowing and wet towels on the floor. Disgraceful. Complementary breakfast was whittled down to bagels and cold cereal. Our friend staying at the comfort inn in downtown Scranton indicated they had packaged Jimmy Dean self serve hot biscuits sausage and individual self serve scrambled eggs. the outdoor fire pit was a nice touch, and after sitting down to enjoy the evening with some wine, we discovered that the cushions were soaking wet. Spent the rest of the evening with a big wet spot in the bottom of my pants. The hotel website indicated there was shuttle service available from the hotel to the airport. When we inquired about it, the front desk indicated due to the Covid virus, the shuttle service was terminated. I guess sitting in the back of the van, 10 feet away from the driver, and with masks on, wasn't good enough. When asking about alternative travel arrangements, all I got was a blank look from the front desk receptionist. We ended up doing the research ourselves on the Internet and getting a taxi. As the taxi picked us up and we left the hotel parking lot, we saw the Marriott shuttle drive by with people in it. All in all, a pretty dismal trip. With all the other hotels in the area, I probably will not be returning to this location. read more

This hotel was so so unique, I can't compare it to anything! 1) We arrived late at night and we were greeted (or not) by African-American front desk associate who was yelling right when we entered "What's your last name?" No "hello, no "welcome"...?? My husband gave her his ID, when I told the lady "Hello" but she ignored me. I said "hello" again, and only then she greeted me quickly. Btw, she was dressed in sleeveless T-shirt and her whole hand was tattooed- so unprofessional. She had to be in a jacket as all other associates in a hotel industry. Her appearance and attitude was not appropriate for a front desk job. 2) We were given room key but ended up coming back because the room was occupied. This associate (or maybe a night auditor) just said that she issued a room key for us but then gave it to another person (also a mobile check-in) and she forgot to issue a new room key. She apologized at least. 3) After this incident, we ended up in our freezing room; we arrived around 2am and the room was set to 64F. It was so freezing (specially when we come from Florida) that it was cold all night long, the room did not get warmer until few hours later, in the morning. 4) The room was not clean! We had a dirty pillow, few dirty towels (not okay!). I didn't mind dirty carpet and stained curtains, but it clearly shows something here... 5) The breakfast was another disaster. After our arrival I was not expecting much but I would never imagine that a hotel could serve rotten fruit. It was just disgusting. I told the front desk (another lady, looking professional this time) who apologized for the inconvenience but did not remove the rotten fruit. I would have removed it immediately, so no one else sees it. 6) During our breakfast incident, I noticed the employees of the hotel walking around slowly, coming to get coffee... Hmmm. And then I saw a housekeeper who was probably the slowest housekeeper ever (she came with her cart at the breakfast area and went to get coffee). She was moving slowly, but I assume it's appropriate to her age. No wonder this hotel has very major housekeeping issues. read more

Room on the 4th floor. The door closers have been set so heavy that the walls shake when a door closed on the floor. It is very annoying and makes sleep difficult. The beds are comfy and the shower was nice. Breakfast in the morning was a disgrace. It was filthy! Mustard splattered on the floor and left by the attendant. There was cereal, eggs and globs of oatmeal all over the counters and the floor. There was dried food crusted on the sides of our chairs and ground into the carpet. Very happy with our stay! My Mother and I chose this hotel on our trip to PA mainly because of the area we were visiting, however we were NOT disappointed. We arrived much earlier than expected and the hotel staff accommodated us by letting us check-in early. The hotel itself was lovely, everything very modern and clean. We went up to the room and were once again delighted. The suite had two queen beds, a pull out couch (we did not use the pull out), large closet, flatscreen, desk, and a nice size bathroom. I was traveling with my infant as well so it was nice to have enough space to lover around without being cramped. The hotel also offers an indoor pool and gym. When we woke up they had a complimentary breakfast and it was a great set up (oatmeal , eggs, cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, coffee etc). Check out was quick and simple. I would highly recommend a stay here. ** I would also note the hotel is across the street from Starbucks, Panera & many other stores. I've stayed in this location for about 5 different occasions. Overall, meh, I only stay here because it's close to my work. This location is nice and new, it has a pool and a gym, and a barn fire outside. However, idk if it's the pillows or the mattress, they are not very comfy. House keeping is below average. For some reasons my bed sheets always looks used as they were all wrinkled up loosely laying on the bed. House keeping is not very good at refilling things either. My Kleenex is never full and run out within one night, and they don't refill them. Also, FYI, this location doesn't put lotion in the room by default, you have to ask for them. The hotel has complementary breakfast but it's the same fruits, eggs and sausages, bagels, toasts, oatmeal and yogurt every single day. There isn't a kitchen on premise so room service is not an option. read more

I have to say, this is one if the nicest hotels I've stayed in (and I've stayed in quite a few). The Springhill is fairly new so everything is in perfect condition, from the lobby to the suites. My room was massive and my home for a week during a business trip and I must say that I was so impressed that everyone at the front desk remembered me and greeted me by name each time I came or went. I love that! The breakfast in the morning comes with your stay and it's pretty great? Eggs, bacon, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc etc. Highly recommend! read more

When we called to complain, they did NOTHING for us and continued to tell us it couldn't be from their hot tub! We had decently clean room; the worn couch had a large stain and some minor spots were seen on the carpet but everything else was okay. I was really looking forward to using the fancy shower with dual shower heads. Joke was on me! Within a minute of stepping in, after fiddling with the various jets, the shower stopped working. No matter which direction or how often I twisted those dials, there was no water. I was completely confused...was the shower on some sort of timer? I mean, my kids had used the shower before me but it wasn't for very long. Why would they restrict guests to a particular amount of time/water? I kept trying to figure out the shower settings, but no luck. Imagine how thrilled I was to get dressed again with dripping wet hair, and go down to the front desk to complain. The young lady at the front desk told me that you had to pull out one of the knobs completely (about an inch out) before it would work. She told me I could just call from the room if I had problems. [Yeah, pretty obvious, except my kids had just gone to bed and I didn't want to disturb them up in the room...which was why I had to come down in the first place to address the problem.] I got back to my room and there were no problems after that. But you can imagine my irritation. Minus one star for poor engineering where the shower is still *on* but no water is coming out (???), and the accompanying inconvenience. We stayed here last year for our annual Pocono trip. This hotel was amazing: rooms were large and clean, beds are soft and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is on point. If you are in the area stay here, not the other hotel down the block. I never stayed there, but it seemed shabbier when our curious selves checked out the lobby. The best part about this was that there is a scenic overlook in the parking lot. Not to mention, there is a great Italian restaurant that sells pizza, entrees, salads, beers and wine. They allow you to take out cases of beer and food as well. This os what we did because we wanted to relax in our room with cable TV and play card games. Definitely a great option for the area! read more

The views are of beautiful mountains and there are lots of trails to enjoy on your visit (ask front desk for maps) Beware of snakes LOL The location is perfect for views and Ruby Tuesdays and another Italian restaurant are virtually in the parking lot of the hotel so making it very, very safe to walk over no mater what time of day or night. Breakfast is "FREE" so seems silly when I saw another review about some rotten fruit...You can't; complain with "Free" eat cereal!! I've asked my credit card company to report this charge as fraud. Be aware and check your billing statement they will try to sneak extra charge on your credit card. The Springwood Suites in Scranton,PA might be one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Being in a band of 5 people, it is hard to find something for everyone. Springwood has just that. It's walking distance to the movie theatre, Starbucks, Johnny rockets, ruby Tuesdays and other local favorites. The hotel has a gym and a pool. Free WiFi is amazing. Our room was very spacious. It had 2 queens a pull out. We never felt cramped. The bathroom was very modern and the shower temp was amazing. Have you ever had eggs on a farm? I have and these eggs at the hotel we're ever better than that. I couldn't even believe it. I was amazed at how tasty they were. Fruit and Oatmeal selection was nice. The coffee was pleasant. For the past two years I have spent minimum one week out of every month living at this Springhill suites. Before I started staying here I have stayed at just about every Marriott in the area. As much as I travel I tend to get really sick of hotels but the Spring Hill suites here has a really nice staff and they are accommodating there also is a lot of activities that you can walk to from this hotel. The Springhill suites is located in Moosic on top of montage Mountain there are a lot of restaurants around the area that you can walk to there is a Ruby Tuesday's a Johnny Rockets a local Italian place and a movie theater. If you walk across the main street there is a shopping center called the shops at montage there is a lot of food options over there including a Starbucks and a Panera there is a longhorn steakhouse and a seafood house called doc McGrogan seafood. there is also a lot of shopping over there that have stores like J.Crew New York and company Victoria secrets Abercrombie and Finch and the Christmas tree shops. I usually go to Starbucks or Panera in the morning to get something to eat and a hot tea to drink. For dinner I usually go to Ruby Tuesday's because it is the closest to the hotel and the staff there is really friendly and they know me by first name basis. I do highly recommend going to either the Longhorn steakhouse or the doc McGrogan's seafood house. The inside of the hotel is very nice they did a good job decorating the place there is high tables as well as low tables and at night they have a fire pit with outdoor seating that they light when it's nice out. This hotel does not have a bar but if you walk across the street to the Italian place they do sell six packs of beer that you can purchase and bring to the fire pit. The Spring Hill suites has a fully operational heated pool. There is also a gym in this hotel This Springhill suites also has a complementary breakfast downstairs in the morning where they have sterno's that offer eggs bacon sausage as well as yogurts bagels muffins croissants they also have a tea and coffee station here. The tea and coffee station is open 24 hours out of the day. Breakfast is only served until 10am. Because this is a Springhill suites all of the rooms here are larger than most hotel rooms that you would normally get there are four different layouts in this hotel I have stayed out all four of the layouts and they're all around 500 to 700 ft.² total. All of the rooms are spacious and they offer a full microwave a mini fridge a pull out couch. The bathrooms are very nice they offer glass enclosed showers and they have sliding doors for entry to the bathroom. I have had a few issues in the bathroom where the door handle will completely fall off of the door as you go to open or close it I ended up coming back and staying in the exact same room and when I went to grab the door to open it the handle fell off again so whoever reinstalled the handle did not do a very good job. Also there has been two times that I've gotten into my room where the refrigerators have not worked at all I just make a simple call to the front desk and they send somebody up to swap the refrigerator out. The only problem that I have with this hotel is the walls here are extremely thin during the summer this place gets completely booked out by people that go to the ski resort that is down the road also they do get a lot of traffic from sports teams. Especially when the sports teams comes at night you can hear people walking up and down the door slamming the kids are very loud. On my most recent trip here I was staying here for five nights and they had sports teams in the kids were running up and down the hallway going in the door out the door I don't know what these kids were doing but I ended up calling the front desk and security ended up telling the kids to quiet down but the kids ended up starting up again so I called security again and finally it stopped but this happened for three of the nights that I was staying here I feel that if the walls were thicker eat it might block out some of the noise for people that are traveling and staying here for business it's really difficult to try and sleep when there's a lot of noise going on around you. Overall this is my favorite Marriott in the area I will continue to stay here when I'm in town the experience can be hit or miss depending on how crowded the hotel is but the staff does do a good job The hotel is clean and there is a lot of restaurants and shopping options that you can walk to from this hotel. PROS: - friendly staff - fire pit outside - heated pool and gym - a lot of restaurants and shopping within walking distance CONS: - gets crowded durring summer - walls are thin you can hear people at night. read more

I stayed here two nights recently while in town for work and overall had a good stay. The lobby is clean and modern. I ate the breakfast buffet during my first morning at the hotel, and it was all right. They served your typical breakfast fare - muffins, eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, coffee, etc. The hotel rooms reflect the newness of the hotel. I have stayed at another Spring Hill Suites which was built 3 years ago that has the exact same room layout. The door opens to a small "living room" and "office" space along with a "minibar." A half wall barrier separates the front "room" from the bed(s). Both the room and bathroom are long and narrow. My primary complaint was that my shower flooded terribly. I took a shower the first morning and returned to the room late that night with the floor still soaking wet. My other frustration was the front desk. I had to make two separate reservations and spoke with them twice (over the phone and in person) in advance to ensure there were no issues. However, I returned to my hotel after a 15 hour work day and was locked out of my room. I had to march myself all the way back downstairs to get my room key re-validated. All my other co-workers had to reserve their rooms in the same way, but half of us had issues while the other half did not. I would stay at this hotel again. Housekeeping steals valuables from rooms Debit card stolen from wallet left in room with "Do Not Disturb" sign on door when we went to hotel Buffett breakfast. Reported incident to hotel Asst Mgr. very apologetic & said needed to contact the GM & get back to me that day. Well, that was over a weeks ago & I also left several follow up calls with no response. This lack of any response is pathetic & speaks volumes about this hotel. If you stay at this hotel, DO NOT leave any valuables in room unattended. read more
