1) Check-in. We arrived at 2am, and check-in took no time at all. They didn't need my credit card information, which was great, we just got to go up to our room. 2) Room Location. We requested a room on the side of the hotel that faces away from the highway, on a high floor. We got the right side of the hotel, but on the second floor, and the bottom half of our window is blocked by the roof of the covered entryway in front of the lobby, and the top half is a view of the stones on the roof. 3) Room Spaciousness. We stayed in a Queen Suite, which was truly very large and spacious. It's a very long room. The front half is a living room area with a kitchenette (microwave, minifridge, sink) and a built-in desk and chair. The back half has the two queen beds and the bathroom. The sink is outside the bathroom, which is nice. 4) Breakfast. There were fewer options than at some other free hotel breakfasts, but I felt like the quality of the available options was good. There was a large assortment of oatmeal toppings, but no fruit, not even apples and bananas. It's nice that they offered quite a few packaged items, which made them easy to take and eat on the go. Hot Options: Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Egg & Spinach Quiche, Oatmeal Cold Options: Raisin Bran, Fruit Loops, Cheerios, Dannon Creamy Yogurt , Hard Boiled Eggs, Bagels, Toast, English Muffins, Blueberry Muffins, Packaged Belgian Waffles, Packaged Glazed Old Fashion Donut. Beverages: 2% Milk, 1% Chocolate Milk, Nonfat Milk, Water, Coffee, Tea, Orange Juice, Apple Juice. 5) Breakfast Hours: 6am-9:30am M-F 7am-10am Weekends / Holidays 6) The air conditioner worked well, but was very loud and right next to the bed, so we turned it off at night. read more

Don't stay here if you want any sleep. Partying in the halls until well after midnight. Bathroom fan didn't work at all. Sound on TV kept dropping out at random intervals, and front desk said that's just the way the TVs are. read more

Clean and location worked for what I needed. Rooms are noisy, especially the pipes ... hence 3 . Crazy that they charge $3 to park that is ridiculous and upsetting. You are in the middle of no where. Take the rate up, but don't nickel & dime people. Thought about 2 because of this. The area has options now so will not stay here next time. read more

Springhill Suites by Marriott is pet friendly, offers free breakfast, free WiFi and free parking. My husband, our little girl dog (pet fee cost $75 per stay) and I stayed at this hotel for a few nights. We ended up getting a 2 queen bed that is pretty spacious with a living room attached. The living room has a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. There are 2 TVs (one in the living room and one in the bedroom, but there is no full wall to really divide the 2 rooms). Because my husband is a Marriott rewards member (you can sign up for free on line), we were greeted with 2 complementary bottled waters when we checked in). This was nice since we had just flown into the MSP airport (this hotel is about 19 miles away from the airport) and could use some water. There was also a water dispenser in the hotel lobby, with plastic cups (the water was iced which was perfect for this warm summer weather). When we checked in, Preston was at the front desk and was so friendly and welcoming. I wished all employees could be like Preston, with his genuine hospitality. He was excited for us that this was our first trip out to Wisconsin. He gave us a few suggestions on places to eat and places to visit. He even asked us what did we end up doing when we saw him later on in the evening. Breakfast is complimentary daily. Weekdays, breakfast is available from 6 am- 9:30 am (I believe hours are a little later on weekends). Breakfast offerings includes the typical cold and hot cereals, make your own waffle station, assorted pastries and breads (including bagels), turkey sausage and eggs (scrambled and hard boiled). There is also assorted fruit, juices, coffee, milk and yogurt. I was pleasantly surprised to see grapefruit that has been segmented and ripe plums as breakfast. I also liked that there are apples, pears and oranges available at the front desk in the lobby. The strawberries that I had at breakfast were ripe but frozen. I also loved that by the scrambled eggs, there was raw spinach, shredded cheese and salsa. All of which makes a yummy breakfast bowl. There is a gym and a whirlpool on the 1st floor. Both of which have towels available for your convenience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We slept comfortably in our clean room. For the price, it is pretty reasonable. I would not mind staying at this hotel again if visiting this area. read more

When I walked in, the person at the desk was working on something. I was standing right in front of her, but she didn't look up or acknowledge me for a full minute. She then said "hello" and took another minute to finish what she was doing. Then proceeded to check me in. She made a big deal about saying that I had booked through Expedia, not Marriott and took a long time typing in all my personal info. I guess they don't get that beforehand?? The room was clean and the bed great except for a full trash can left from the previous guest. One of the TVs didn't work but there were two, so that was not a big deal. When I called about the TV and trash, someone was sent within 5 minutes to try to take care of it. The worst thing was the noise. The hotel is right next to a railroad track with trains that blare their horns. Also every footstep from above can be heard. The guests above me must have been jumping off the bed Because I heard a continuous "boom" for about an hour while trying to fall asleep. The pool area was small and looked kind of run-down. The best part of my stay was the breakfast, offering a large variety of hot as well as grab and go items. It is conveniently located about 2 minutes from 394. However, overall, I probably would not come back to this hotel. read more

The junior suite was comfortable and offered fridge, microwave, mini breakfast area, clean bath and vanity, business nook, iron, king bed and sofa sleeper...among other delights. The hotel itself is clean, well organized, and modern. Breakfast leaves you feeling like you are important...nothing like the usual complimentary bfast selection. And when there are more people than seats in the main area, an overflow is created using an adjacent conference room. Clean hallways and no awkward smell. Non-smoking is exactly that. Everywhere I turn is interesting decor. Great amenities and a friendly team to help with all your needs. At one point, there were fresh cookies at the front desk. Would recommend for anyone looking for savings without sacrificing value. read more

Traveled here for business and was pleased to find a very modern, clean, crisp lobby and equally modern and spacious rooms. The desk had plenty of power outlets, two LCD televisions with lots of channels, very fast WiFi and a comfortable bed. What more is there to ask for? Well, the only down side were the unbelievable mass of people who descended upon the breakfast buffet as if the ravenous vultures might never see food again. The staff were unable to keep up with the crowd - not only replenishing the buffet but also in keeping the space clean. It was disgusting. BUT...that wasn't the fault of the hotel, so I only deducted one star. Really appreciate the shuttle bus to the airport, light rail, and the mall. If I had one request it would be an expanded menu at the bar so that you could eat at the hotel rather than leaving each night for dinner. read more

1) Great room, I was really surprised at the amenities. 2) Wonderful desk staff, Chandra was excellent, many kudo's to her. 3) You call that breakfast? Really? If I would have known it was so poor, I would have gotten up little earlier & gone somewhere for something decent. Very disappointing... 4) I had a check-in coupon with FourSquare to give me 5,000 extra miles next time I checked in at your hotel. Chandra said she would leave a note for "management" to contact me about it, but that didn't happen. I can only assume I won't be getting my extra 5k miles - I'd call that false advertising, or really poor communication on management's part to staff.. I stay here once a year, even though I live in the Twin Cities. It is close to some fun shopping at the West End. My husband gives me a mom weekend to relax and I always choose this hotel. It is clean and staff is always great. This past stay they were remodeling but they made the inconvienence not one:) Can't wait to see what they have done when I return next year. read more

I give the fourth star due to an excellent Continental breakfast. Far better than most standard hotel buffet bars. Fresh nuts and berries to go with steel cut oatmeal and granola. Very clean too. It is a bit pricey at $170 for a standard business trip room. Maybe if I shop around more I can get a better deal next time. Polite and effective personnel during my stay and the room was very clean. My choice of hotels while I'm in Minneapolis! The spacious rooms and inclusion of small kitchen amenities makes it like home..... Well that and the fact that I'm in Minneapolis every other week. Stayed here with a friend who was visiting from Texas. I've stayed in a lot of downtown Minneapolis hotels that cost hundreds of dollars per night, and haven't been this impressed ever! Second night of a three night stay. Spacious clean rooms. Friendly staff. Not enough staff working the breakfast area, so food runs out with no one to refill. Only complaint so far... bath towels are thin and like sandpaper. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed for one Saturday evening and it is a fantastic place and convenient location to downtown events. Beautiful big room, great price, very clean and super nice staff. They do all the little things right - room temp perfect and no dry blasting heat in the night or freezing; nice shower and bath; fridge in the room and paper plates and silverware for our delivery pizza. Breakfast had nice variety of items and healthier options including eggs and sausage including spinach and cheese and other toppings; oatmeal with toppings including walnuts, craisins and chocolate chips, thick sliced whole grain breads, yogurt, fruit and cereals and waffles as well as donuts - something for everyone! Warm cookies in the evening at the front desk as well as a free newspaper in the morning. Coffee maker and tea and hot chocolate in the room as well. Did not get a chance to use the hot tub or pool or workout room but will be back to check those out as well. read more
