I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was right off the highway and easy to access. There are numerous restaurants nearby and it's also incredibly close to Baylor University. The next time I stay in Waco and come to a Baylor basketball game, this is definitely the place I want to stay because it's only a few hundred yards from the arena. This hotel sorely needs some vacuuming. Musty smell in rooms including dirty corners. Camouflaged carpet and upholstery hides the horrors of whatever stain is hidden. Breakfast was bad with liquid overly processed eggs, mummified bread, and some kind of round meat patties. The saving grace was cold milk, and a seed and nut bar for oatmeal or other items. The ice machines though were premium with good ice flow. Air conditioning was OK. Good location. Some traffic and train noise. read more

In bathroom there is only 1 robe hook, no fan in bathroom, no shower cap available at front desk, hair on bed sheets, orange scum in 4 corners of shower, loud when neighbors doors close, 1 degree differences (73 to 74) makes a big jump in temperature, no lotion available, only dark roast coffee offered at breakfast, container holding tea bags at breakfast has sticky substance on bottom, 30 min before breakfast is scheduled to end they run out of the pot of oatmeal and say they will not be making anymore even though folks want some, garbage both days at breakfast is overflowing so guests leave garbage on table. Upon checkin the attendant did not inform us there is not daily room cleaning nor towels provided. read more

Here is the place to stay in Waco. Superior staff, well maintained (seemed new and it was 3 years old), and very close to all of the activities in Waco. The staff went above and beyond. I've stayed at 5 star international hotels that could not have provided the help this staff did multiple times! The room was perfect, clean, soft bed, great layout, and roomy! Only thing that was somewhat goofy is the glass door to the bathroom at the foot of the bed let the light show through. A safety tip, do not leave anything visible in your cars as there are some sketchy people living on the streets going through the parking lot. I heard a few complaints. The staff do keep side doors locked from outside entry even with cards. read more

First the positives: staff was friendly, room temp was perfect, excellent location next to downtown, breakfast was good. Negatives: shower leaked and dripping was loud, tv didn't work at all and wasn't repaired as promised, highway noise was awful, smoke detector had strobe lights that flashed every 5 seconds, carpet was gross, hallway had huge leak and a giant trash can blocked the way. Marriott needs to take a look at this one. read more

Spinghill Suites Just opened in March 2021, very nice and clean. Layout is same as other Springhill Suites that we have stayed at with the exception that there are numerous upgrades, for example the shower with the additional shower wand to use with the shower head or just the tub valve. TOTO brand toilet. Bathroom is huge, long bathroom with 2 ft x 1 ft tiles.. We had a room with two queen beds and a sleeper sofa. Very spacious and new with the opening of this property being less than a month. Room includes small refrigerator and microwave and a good Sze TV. Plenty if free parking. Right off the I35 and University Parks, one block from Baylor campus and 3 blocks from Magnolia Market read more

Just to provide an update: After filing a police report with Waco PD, I was able to confirm with security footage that I left the hotel with my bag, so it was likely stolen out of my vehicle, possibly while parked at this hotel (though unable to confirm where it actually occurred). That said, my disappointment with this hotel remains as they offered no concrete help in trying to locate my bag or confirm whether I had left with it or not. They were incredibly shifty initially, which is why I strongly suspected theft by a hotel worker. When I called initially about my bag, I was basically told, "oh, everyone here is just so nice and honest. They'd never do that." That hardly suffices. The very least I expect as a paying customer is looking into the issue, both by checking other areas and assessing security footage. I should not have had to get the police involved for security footage to be reviewed. Speaking with the manager precipitated the same results, which really disturbs me. It seemed they expected me to drop the issue basically by offering their condolences and assuring me everyone there was an honest person. I would avoid this hotel at all costs just on the basis that they will not bother to help you or address your concerns should anything nefarious or dissatisfactory arise during your stay. read more

We had a nice stay. The hotel was clean and very convenient to downtown Shopping including the Chip and Joanna Gaines Silos. The breakfast was nice, the coffee hot. Sydney the front desk attendant was super sweet, polite and helpful. She is a jewel. The hotel is near the highway but noise was a minimum as the hotel seems well insulated. It is from Marriott but service is not close to Marriott standards. Room is okay but but other things in room are average. Bed is not comfortable, wall mount TV is odd angle, bath tissues are one layer and most thinnest & cheapest in the world. Customer service is worst than any motel. They take 24 hours to reply from app, mobile key Didn't work and front desk person at time of checkin didn't know how to activate mobile key. I requested higher floor at the time of booking and they gave me 2nd floor. I requested extra towel and bed at the time of booking. It was not given at the time of checkin , so I requested again from app but they just gave towels. I was staying 4 days here and they never did room service. When I asked why they hive Covid reason. I will never recommend this place. Marriott should consider their association with this location read more

We stayed here last week for 5 days while we moved our Bear into a house near Baylor. The hotel is new, clean and the free laundry was a plus, but the room and service did not measure up to the Marriott standard. We are bonvoy gold members and vacation club owners, so we have stayed in Marriott brands all over the country and this hotel has a lot of work to do to measure up. We first had a issue with the shower water leaking onto the floor while showering, it took 3 days to get it fixed. Secondly, half way into our stay our tv volume stopped working. We were told "our tv(s) are having issues...so 3 days of no tv or olympics. Lastly, the day we were to check out, and start our 26 hour drive back to CA, housekeeping banged on the door at 9am and woke us up wanting to clean pur room. We were told "they must have read their room cleaning list wrong". No apologies, and no response from the manager who we asked to talk to numerous times. We definitely feel we deserve some sort of compensation, 3 strikes and you're out! Lastly, heads up..Baylor has booked this entire hotel for their freshman overflow housing through December 2021 and maybe beyond. No telling what condition this new hotel will be in afterwards. read more

This is a new hotel and everything is very clean and tidy. The front desk informed me they opened approximately Feb 2021. The room was quite nice with all the amenities necessary. I was pleased with accommodations and covid related cleanliness. There were two aspects to this hotel that I was not terribly pleased with. The first is that the bathroom had 1-ply toilet paper? If you can even call it 1-ply. It was basically like the tissue paper you use when stuffing bags for presents. It was atrocious. The other issue is that the bed wasn't terribly comfortable. The pillows were fine, not great, not terrible. The mattress wasn't exactly comfortable and it honestly felt like the head of the bed was downward sloping. Overall the sleeping experience wasn't great. I would stay again due to the cleanliness and the fact it's a new establishment. read more

So many things were awful in this hotel. The floor in the bathroom was dirty. Blinds didn't function to close. Refrigerator didn't work. Television didn't display a guide nor allow you to stream anything. Pillows on the bed were hard as a rock. Very uncomfortable mattress. Super thin 1 ply toilet paper. While all of those things were bad, the worst had to be the noise from the highway. We upgraded to a suite and discovered they were on the side of the hotel next to the highway. Whoever made the decision to place the better rooms on that side of the building should be fired. Marriott Corp as a whole is going downhill. read more

Hotel was new and clean. Front desk staff not customer service oriented. Even though the hotel is only a month old, the bathroom sink would not drain, so we had to move at 10pm. I asked for a couple glasses and they only have paper coffee cups. The "hot breakfast" was meager with nothing hot. They used the excuse of Covid. However, we stayed the night before at Springhill suites in Grapevine, TX and had a good breakfast. The bed was not the usual Marriott standard either. read more
