    No pet fee!

Great location close to downtown Waco and Magnolia Market. We just came down from Dallas for a one nighter with our new puppy, and chose this Aloft because they don't charge a pet fee- awesome! We requested a first floor room for quick in and out access (due to the puppy) which backfired because you could hear the lobby music all night. Turns out there's a door that closes off the lobby from the hallway so we could have just closed that the whole time lol. Love the outdoor space with fire pits and ample seating. Pool table inside + a bar! Room was clean and modern.

Uber Euro-Modern ... not our style - loud lobby music / finished concrete floors / small rooms ... kind of a euro / minimalist / urban uptown vibe. Additionally, the staff seems disconnected - basically indifferent, unhelpful, disengaged ... barely got any recognition on check in - or a thank you / you're welcome / etc ... On the plus side - hotel was clean and in a good location We'll avoid this brand going forward

The lobby and rooms are in good condition, with colorful carpets, pillows, walls, etc. The bathroom and closets were clean and spacious. There are several restaurants at walking distance from the hotel. I gave fewer starts because they do not have proper breakfast options. Few bananas, apples, cereals, coffees, etc. for purchase.

Hubby and I had a ruff day traveling and needed a hotel for the night. We booked this one and we were not disappointed in any way. The lady that checked us in with her sweet personality made us feel welcome and the bartender James was great to talk with as well. The rooms were nice and clean.... Loved the beanbag!! Lol. The bed was fantastic... I wanted to take the pillow and blanket home with me. We will definitely stay here again.

Second time staying at Aloft in Waco!! Clean, modern hotel at a reasonable price (if there aren't any major Baylor events going on such as Homecoming or graduation) - The front desk is usually manned by a friendly college student, and the lobby area is lively. There is a bar area, pool table, and lots of seating area for people to hang out. If you stay on a lower floor, be prepared to hear music at night or bring earplugs. I request a high floor for this reason. I enjoy the Drybar shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel pumps that are inside the shower. It's a great step to minimizing plastic waste with the usual mini sized products that hotels typically have. The water pressure and temperature were good and consistent which isn't always the case for higher floored hotel rooms. Although the hotel is close to the Silos, the area between the hotel and Magnolia isn't the best and I would not recommend walking around at night.

BUT, the hotel has EXCELLENT communication. We received a text before checking in with all the info we needed. Then, advice to text if we needed anything. Actually we sent a few texts that were IMMEDIATELY answered. Impressive! Even in the largest of other hotels, it can take some time to get a real person. We were immediately texted when we had a question about parking, then accessing the room, and others. I read on one review that there are about 10 parking spots. Actually, there are probably 25 to 30 in the lot. We found that we could park in the lot with no issues at various times. NOTE: Some spots are marked with "Reserved Parking". I asked the hotel and they related that hotel guests can park in those spots. We were told about possible train noise. We did hear it a few times, but it wasn't bothersome. In fact, there were ear plugs in a black pouch in the bathroom should this be an issue. There was also live music in the 4th floor bar until midnight. We could hardly hear it & we were on the 4th floor as well. BTW, there are superior views of the silos from the rooftop and other places in the hotel.

It is designed extremely well for a boutique hotel, and appointed nicely. What's it near? It's DIRECTLY next to the Dr Pepper Museum. It's only a five-min walk to Magnolia: Chip & Jo Gaines' shopping area. But, do NOT come here for the "breakfast bites", which is their substitution for breakfast. Sadly, there are only 2 breakfast foods, both bad for you: cereal laden with sugar & yogurt laden with sugar. And, for a boutique hotel, there was a lack of coffee. Yes, there was a coffee maker in the room with 2 pods for us, but no creamer. It was on another floor. We were here 2 nights, and the pods weren't replaced. No coffee the next morning and nowhere in the hotel to get some complementary coffee. That was odd because almost every hotel has coffee, some 24 hrs a day (Holiday Inn, etc). In summation, the location couldn't be beat. Check in was smooth with Courtney at the front desk. We would have never found this hotel were it not for a Travelzoo offer.

As soon as I stepped in, I noticed how clean and modern the space felt. The design has a bright, minimalist aesthetic that gives off a very calm and refreshing vibe. After doing a bit of research, I found that Element markets itself as an extended stay hotel designed for the active traveler -- and that definitely came through in the details. Each room had a reusable water bottle, and all the water throughout the hotel is filtered, which I really appreciated. There was a mini fridge in the room, lots of built-in USB charging ports, and everything was set up to be functional, but sleek. The fitness room was a standout -- large, well air-conditioned, stocked with plenty of towels, and had all the essentials for a solid workout. I found out that they use the same beds as Westin Hotels, and it showed. Super comfortable mattress, plush pillows -- I slept really well. But honestly, what impressed me the most was the breakfast. It was complimentary, but far from your typical "budget hotel" buffet. Here's what stood out: * A yogurt bar with Chobani, fresh fruit, and nut toppings. * A variety of bagels, muffins, breads, and cereals. * Made-to-order hot breakfast options including a quinoa bowl, French toast, and an egg frittata with optional sausage. I went with the French toast -- a slice of toast cut in half, buttered, lightly sugared, and topped with powdered sugar and fresh berries (blueberries and strawberries). They even had a Nutella squeeze bottle, which was a fun and tasty touch. They also had a full-fledged cappuccino machine! It was such a pleasant surprise to be able to make a proper cappuccino in the morning. Overall, I had a great experience at Element Waco. With only a little over 100 Element Hotels across North America, it feels like a bit of a hidden gem. If I'm staying at a Marriott-brand hotel in the future, I'll definitely check to see if there's an Element in that city.

So naturally I called the front desk. That's when the comedy started. I was told the hotel has been having "backup generator issues all day" affecting the AC. Interesting considering the entire city of Waco has had zero widespread power issues today. I actually laughed out loud when she said it. Then I asked for a simple box fan. They had none. Ironically, placing a fan where the thermostat sensor detects motion would likely keep the AC from shutting off in the first place. What really sealed it was when I was told:"There is no motion sensor on the thermostat." ...immediately followed by an offer to move me to "a room with AC." Wait -- I thought the issue was the generators? And if there's no occupancy sensor, why did the AC magically turn back on the second movement was detected? The proof is literally on the thermostat screen. I don't mind problems. Hotels have issues sometimes. I DO mind being insulted with explanations that make absolutely no sense.
