The Good: -Gym is pretty decent for getting what you need done: small-free weight rack, leg press machine, pull-up/pulley exercise trainer, and a couple treadmills. -Very friendly and attentive staff -Nice bar area downstairs -Overall a clean facility -A quick drive to downtown and freeway. The Not so Good: -Did not love the breakfast selections (received one voucher per day redeemable for one item). Out of the breakfast burrito both days, and the breakfast biscuit was something found in the frozen section. Cinnamon roll was so dry I didn't even bother eating it. -If your room faces the road, it can be noisy at times with loud cars. Not bad, but not great. read more

I travel prolifically for work and in these smaller towns , hotels can be hit or miss but usually a miss regardless of price point . I honesty did not have much hope Sydney I arrived here as the immediate area looked a bit run down but the lobby is bright and inviting with a bar and snacks , and nice and modem. The room did not appear as sparse as Alofts usually do. It was again bright and modern, very clean , cute decor . I liked that the TV had a full range of channels not just the basics ( gonna admit after a long day at work, mindless Bravo shows are always a good watch ) Two desks and lots of bright lighting. This is a fun hotel. It's not fancy but really nice. The decor is "urban-inspired." There is popular music that you hear when you walk into the lobby- which is large and expansive- lots of modern art that looks to have been done by emerging artists. The furniture-in the lobby and in the rooms- is modern and colorful. There is no restaurant but the hotel offers breakfast and folks sit where they can talk and socialize with everyone. There is an area where you can buy soda and water and sandwiches and frozen dinners that can be microwaved. The rooms -my room- was coming fun with automatic lighting and LOTS of outlets into which you can plug your devices. It is a 21st century facility. Nothing traditional here! read more

Hotel is about 1/2 mile away from the Gaines empire, it's directly across the street from the projects. People that visit don't realize the Silos are in the "da hood " and there are poor people adjacent to their gentrified playground. The hotel and an adjacent property are trailblazers in gentrification of the immediate area. I'd give it 2-3 years and all essence of the old neighborhood will be gone. Property is clean and makes a focal point on providing lobby space for socializing. Housekeeping staff are doing an awesome job and front desk is ah-ite. The star of this place is the current bar manager. Dude is legit wasting his talents in a lowly college town bar. He has mastered prohibition era style cocktails and makes many of his mixers on his own with premium ingredients. Great location close to downtown Waco and Magnolia Market. We just came down from Dallas for a one nighter with our new puppy, and chose this Aloft because they don't charge a pet fee- awesome! We requested a first floor room for quick in and out access (due to the puppy) which backfired because you could hear the lobby music all night. Turns out there's a door that closes off the lobby from the hallway so we could have just closed that the whole time lol. Love the outdoor space with fire pits and ample seating. I would say the hotel itself is nice. I had a nice room, except for the very soft pillows, and the staff was friendly. But the location is awful. I wanted to be near Magnolia which it is but you have to walk through a very scary neighborhood to get to it. Lots of run down houses, a few homeless folks, mixed in with apartments and a couple of nicer places. The hotel staff told me it was ok to walk during the day but not at night. I guess they have a shuttle that can take you back and forth but I walked. A good location right off the highway but not the best neighborhood. Not sure I would stay there again. read more

Interesting to come back to the hotel on a Friday night and 8/23/24 and the whole lobby is turned into a singing drag show. Careless about the drag, but why wouldn't it be in a ballroom or meeting room. Do you let other groups do their functions in your public space as well? read more

We got in late after driving for so long. The staff was friendly, told me everything they had at the place. This place looks very trendy, almost reminds me of an Ikea. They have a place to do laundry. They have a water dish and dog bones at the entrance if you have a dog. Parking is free They have a convient store open all night with a complimentary coffee bar, but the expresso machine was broken. They had a nice smart TV where you can stream you own services on it. ( I really liked that feature) You can't turn on the lights until you put your room key in the slot. The walls were thin, I could hear the lady's dog next to us barking in the morning. It's down the street from a CVS in case you forgot your toiletries like we did. Lol Overall I would stay here again. read more

The lobby and rooms are in good condition, with colorful carpets, pillows, walls, etc. The bathroom and closets were clean and spacious. There are several restaurants at walking distance from the hotel. I gave fewer starts because they do not have proper breakfast options. Close to Baylor. Decor is upbeat if you like that style. I think they are competing with Tru by Hilton. When I first checked in there was no one at the desk for what felt like 10 mins. No complimentary breakfast makes it a big miss. There was a coffee pot in the reception area with no creamer or utensils so I think it is just for aesthetics. Room is spacious but the beds were awfully uncomfortable and pillows were just as horrible. I am writing this review at 3:30 am because I am so uncomfortable I cannot sleep. True to Aloft hotels which is consistently good. Bice, modern, cool/colorful lights, lobby area and very nice customer service at front desk! Taylor was very helpful, professional, and a great Ambassador for the Marriott family of hotels! The hallways are well lit and clean. The rooms clean and nicely decorated. The water pressure is good. The toilet flushes very loud and the handle needs a little extra effort, which could be better. The parking is plentiful but the surrounding area is not the best neighborhood. There is an abandoned store right across the street and it appeared to be a sketchy area. There are plenty of eating spots nearby and it is very convenient to the college and highway. The price was right! The towels were white and absorbent. Of course, hotels are going toolight on the amenities though so there was only one small soap provided. I also don't really like the dispensers in the shower that contains the shower gel, shampoo and condcause they can easily be opened and tinkered with by a guest. I bring my own amenities now. It would be nice if hotels used dispensers that could only be opened by a special tool The sheets were fresh. There was no cream and only one regular/2 decaf coffees...I had to go to lobby to get cream. It's nice that there is coffee and tea in the lobby though which I believe is comp. If you do not like dogs barking and making noise all night, DO NOT STAY HERE. And then a dog jump at me while I was leaving my room. It scared my wife and she spilled her hot coffee on her hand. Hubby and I had a ruff day traveling and needed a hotel for the night. We booked this one and we were not disappointed in any way. If I could rate this place negative stars I would. It's in a horrible location and the staff consists of disorganized college students. We arrived at 3:20pm (check in is at 3) and the kid at the front desk said there were no rooms available since they are still cleaning. He would give us a call no later than 20 mins. 1.5 hours later we get a call saying the room was ready. Traveling all day with 2 kids is tough enough as it is but then have to wait longer to get into a room and settle in? Not cool. We found another hotel (thank you IGH) who was able to accommodate us right then and there. Now this place won't give us a refund so time to fight that battle! read more

Do not stay here - avoid any way possible. I had my Catalytic Converters cut off my truck along with about 5 or 6 other people with Toyota Tundras. I took my wife here for Mother's Day so she could visit the silos. Our trip was ruined, and we left the very next day because of the theft to our vehicle. The manager would not let us see footage, even though they have cameras out there. I was told that the police can only view it - and when the police showed up, he told me that only a detective could view it. The policeman handed me a scrap of paper with the case number on it, and did not even ask me any questions or take pictures of my truck. The garbage dump government projects across from this hotel, do not make it a safe place to stay. There were creeps, begging for money in the parking lot. The parking lot is well lit though, so the thieves have good light to steal your stuff. The manager lied to me and told me that catalytic converter's have not been stolen from the parking lot even though the police officer told me that it happens all the time. I looked up the crime statistics for this area, and they were off the chart. Stay Away!!!!' read more

Second time staying at Aloft in Waco!! Clean, modern hotel at a reasonable price (if there aren't any major Baylor events going on such as Homecoming or graduation) - The front desk is usually manned by a friendly college student, and the lobby area is lively. There is a bar area, pool table, and lots of seating area for people to hang out. If you stay on a lower floor, be prepared to hear music at night or bring earplugs. I request a high floor for this reason. I enjoy the Drybar shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel pumps that are inside the shower. It's a great step to minimizing plastic waste with the usual mini sized products that hotels typically have. The water pressure and temperature were good and consistent which isn't always the case for higher floored hotel rooms. Although the hotel is close to the Silos, the area between the hotel and Magnolia isn't the best and I would not recommend walking around at night. read more

I'm a Marriott person but this hotel chain just doesn't fit the brand. The room was nice, very modern and reminded me of Europe. Out front desk guy was not great. Had to ask about the hotel and amenities at check in. The lobby music is SO LOUD! And you can't get away from it, same volume poolside as inside. The place is new and very trendy in decor. Front desk attendant was helpful and attentive. Why I rated them poorly has to do with the room. There was no hand soap or typical supplies most hotels have such as lotion, soap etc. I called for hotel services 3 times about the soap and finally let them know I wanted it immediately and it was at my door in 5 minutes . This is probably the best hotel in the Waco area and we have stayed at many being Baylor parents. Comfy beds, clean rooms, thoughtful amenities (inexpensive quick breakfast and nice bar for an evening cocktail). Cozy fireplace and cute pool area for warmer months. Had a quick one night stay on the way to San Antonio. Jeremy was very welcoming when we arrived and switched our bed type with no issue and put us at the end of the hall. Our room had everything we needed and the blinds block out any light so much better than curtains. There is a bench for suitcases and a desk if you need it. We didn't hear anything all night and had a great sleep. The next morning when we checked out Jeremy was still there. You can tell he takes pride in the hotel and his job. I saw him cheerfully helping anyone who had a question. Parking lot is well lit and many food places are a short distance away. Picked up local barbecue and they let us eat at the bar while we had a cocktail. Bartender is friendly and attentive. We will definitely stay here again. read more

Kevin at the front desk is so incredibly helpful and nice. The rooms were great and clean. We had so much fun at the Magnolia. The outdoor fire pit was nice and all the bartenders were awesome! What a great staff and hotel! Helpful tip run the warm water for a longer time in the morning to wake it up! Ours took a little while to get warm first thing in the morning. Just to add to my review I left my coat there and Jeremy called me back immediately and told me he would send my coat back to me. What a great group of people!!! read more

Just enjoyed three nights at this place, staff was fantastic over the phone and accommodating when we wanted to add an extra night to the room. Clean hotel, seemed family friendly. I want to tell you that you have exceptional personnel working at your hotel, and they deserve a raise or some token of appreciation given to them. I stayed at the Aloft Hotel 900 South 11th street Waco, Texas 76706. I stayed three nights from February 16-19 due to Texas's freeze and no electricity, which caused my water pipes to burst. Please recognize these people because they were short-handed and wore many hats during this emergency in my life. I was made to feel welcomed and was treated warmly and respectfully. It is hard to find talented people, and these people have a hospitality talent they should be rewarded. Please, if you can treat these people to something special. Many people suffered during the freeze in Texas and are still having tremendous hardships. The room was clean, and the atmosphere was friendly. I was genuinely grateful to have a bed for those three nights. I am a loyal customer, and I want to thank you. read more
