solid hotel. friendly desk staff. everything clean. bartender is witty & amusing. decent selection of spirits & craft beer. you're on your own for wine selection - didn't really look. breakfast is typical eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. decent but not exciting. filling and plentiful. would like better yogurts - those Dannon fat-free ones taste like plastic. coffee seemed to run out fast & take a long time to be replaced. there were two large wedding crowds that put a lot of demand on them, but they didn't seem to pick up on it or respond to it very effectively. lots of noise from the highway in the rear-facing rooms, but didn't disturb our sleep. ymmv. pool was clean & well kept. read more

Stayed in a king room four nights while in town on business. Room was clean, shower was roomy, and mini fridge worked well. Bed was a bit more firm than I prefer, but comfortable enough. Complimentary breakfast was great in my opinion. Several cereal options, scrambled eggs, a meat (was sausage all four days I was there which I don't eat so i can't comment on the taste), waffles, bagels, English muffins, yogurt (not sure if they rotate but this week it was Activia), white and chocolate milk, apples, bananas, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, flavored creamers, half n half. Shredded cheddar cheese, salsa, jelly, syrup, butter, cream cheese... could be missing a thing or two. Point is, great breakfast. Really my only negative feedback pertains to the staff. I interacted with two front desk staff members face to face (check in and check out) neither of which were friendly. They were by no means rude... they did the bare minimum and nothing more. And at check out, I was not asked how the stay was. At check in I was asked if I wanted housekeeping which I appreciated because usually I feel pressure to hang the "do not disturb/I'm sleeping" sign and hope no one comes in. I opted out of house keeping, but the following day while I was out working, housekeeping did come into my room. When I called the front desk I politely advised that I had requested no housekeeping upon check in but housekeeping had been in my room that day I wanted them to make another note in the system that I decline housekeeping and I got no apology. 8/10 read more

This SpringHill Suites CHECKS ALL OF THE BOXES for a comfortable stay and is exactly the type of hotel we look for whenever we go on vacation. This location is located in a quiet area, has a large parking lot surrounding the hotel, provides a free hot breakfast and is clean all around from the lobby to the hallways to the rooms. That's all you can ask for in a hotel. And in the spirit of most SpringHill Suites locations (as a result of remodelings), if not all of them now, the room had 2 separate bathrooms - 1 with the shower and 1 with the toilet. HOWEVER, yes, there's a however. However, the free breakfast, which runs from 6:30-9:30 AM has been better at other Marriot hotels we've been to. Yes, there are scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, hot oatmeal, a waffle maker, milks, coffee and juices, BUT it's also missing muffins, breads, pound cake slices, hard boiled eggs and, maybe some bacon would be nice? I'm pretty much nit-picking because things can always be better, but this hotel is as good as a stay as you'll have. Giving this place a 5 star because of Michael at the bar. He has a true talent for what he does. He was great with every customer and put a smile on everyone's face. It was very fun watching him work. He is extremely personable. He's the GOAT really. His service is top notch. If you get a chance stop by. It's hard to come by people that are so good at their job. He was efficient, extremely clean and made sure he took care of the bar and people at the tables. I worked in a Kimpton hotel bar so I can see what it takes. SpringHill should be grateful to have such a spectacular bartender. I don't drink very often but I had to go back both nights I stayed just because such a great experience. Place was comfy, clean and breakfast was ok standard stuff. BUT I asked to be on the non highway side if the hotel and they didn't honor that request. Highway noise is LOUD even with white noise and ear plugs. Also the side door that is supposed to be only opened with a key was able to be opened and at one point left ajar. There's a par course walking trail right outside the door that the front desk clerk didn't know about. read more

We stayed here during our trip to Hershey Park (about a 30 minute drive away). The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was nice and just the right size for a family of five. The layout was a little different from what I'm used to (the room with the toilet is separate from the one with the shower). The beds and sheets were clean and comfy; but the swimming pool was small. It didn't really matter since most of the time we spent at the Park (Hershey). The breakfast they had was good. For the amount we paid, I'd recommend this place to others. read more

The hotel website described the pool as 'heated'. This is a lie the pool is icy cold, clearly unheated and I am extremely disappointed. I will go elsewhere next time. Plus the pool is tiny, a lap pool, maybe big enough for two people to swim laps. Don't come here for the freezing cold pool. read more

There were lots of disappointments and one happy surprise. -One of the lights in the bathroom didn't work. -Neither of the plugs by the bed (on the lamp) worked to charge my phone. -There were no tea bags with the coffee paraphernalia. -The lids were the wrong size for the cups. -They don't recycle. BUT... there's a recycling bin in my room??!! On the good side? There was an unexpectedly delicious mini- spinach quiche on the breakfast bar. I stayed here for a wedding and used their shuttle service to the venue. They said that they would return at 10:15 pm, but as we were waiting for the return shuttle a staff member at the venue said the hotel had cancelled the shuttle. This stranded a dozen guests at the venue! If the hotel promised to send a return shuttle, which they did, they should have sent the shuttle or arranged for an alternate return service. This was poor service in the extreme. If you are planning a wedding and thinking of using this hotel I would seriously reconsider. read more

Most Springhill Suites locations seem the same (good thing), and this one is no different. ***** Things to know about this Marriott property: - It resides in a business area about ten or so minutes from Harrisburg's Downtown. - This type of property caters to business travelers. - They provide complimentary breakfast, which consists of your basic eggs, bagels, fruit, coffee, and other American breakfast-type eats. - The fitness room included of a few cardio machines and a rack of weights. A pool also exists, but it didn't look too sanitary - I paid around $200 a night (including taxes). About the room itself: - Springhill Suites has one of the comfiest beds and sheets, and they typically come in either king or two queens. - They have a spacious bathroom. - The room I had separated out both its bathroom and main room. - Comes with desk and mini lounge area - Mini fridge, microwave, and glasses included I overheard the staff arguing in front of guests upon arrival, so room for improvement exists, but I would def consider staying there again in the future. read more

We stayed here when we visited Hershey Park. The Springhill Suites closer to Hershey park is more expensive and looking at the reviews, might be more run-down than this one. This hotel is decent but I have stayed at a better SpringHill Suites in Virginia Beach. I noticed ants in one of the bathrooms with the toilet. They put us in a handicap room with a separate shower. Other than the ants, the hotel was pretty decent for the price. I don't know why they call it a suite since it was just one room. But this might be due to the fact that we were in a handicap room (we are not handicapped but they put us there). The love seat in the room can be a bed for a short person or a child. There is a Macaroni Grill and a Cracker Barrel close by (2 minute drive) for meals. We also went to Harrisburg one night for dinner. Perhaps it is due to the bad economy, but lots of panhandlers on the street. The complimentary breakfast is ok, but not as nice as the Springhill Suites in VA Beach. There was no fruit salad. Not as bad as the breakfast in the Comfort Suites though. Just an ok breakfast with pancakes, sausage, yogurt, cereal, waffles, etc. We were pretty happy we stayed here to go to Hershey Park because it is only about 15 minutes away and the prices are cheaper than the hotels closer to the park. There is a small pool in the hotel. We were able to use it on Monday morning after all the other families had gone home. On the weekends, it would not be pleasant since it is a rather small pool. read more

I don't often review hotels but I felt like there were a few things I had to say about this one. Firstly, if you are a business traveler, this might not be a great spot. It was rammed full of children when we stayed and made breakfast a hectic start to the day. I wasn't overly enamored with the housekeeping, they didn't empty the garbage in the room or add coffee when they serviced the room. The AC in the room was hit or miss. My colleague couldn't get her thermostat to work and it was hot as an oven in the lobby. The bartender in the evening however, he was excellent. A real personality. I'd have hung out at the bar with him more for sure. It was really the one thing that kept me from giving the place a lower score. Just a very average stay. read more

The hotel itself is okay. Nothing special but definitely not bad. Good value for the price. The 5 stars is for Mike in the "laboratory" (the bar). I had some time to kill so I decided to have a drink and Mike was tending bar. He was extremely personable, friendly and honestly kinda hilarious. I wish he worked at a bar local to me, I'd frequent often. His customer service was fantastic, even when the bar got packed late in the evening he was on top of everything and never lost his cool personality. If you stay here go see Mike for a drink. We came into a room with a white stain on the couch, the soap box In the bathroom was very wet for some reason. The toilet paper roll was half used. Then at 12:30AM the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate our 3 kids for over an hour for the fire dept to come and tell us there was no smoke or fire. At no point did any hotel staff make any announcements or provide any information during this. This also made the next morning very difficult to wake them up for our trip to Hershey. I have a room facing the highway but didn't have any issues with the noise from cars. I was able to hear EVERYTHING from the room above. Every footstep echoed through our room as well as every other noise. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! My worst Marriott experience! We have been on a long road trip and since we knew we would be arriving late, I called ahead to give our estimated time of arrival. I did this with the other hotels from our trip and everyone was accommodating and helpful. However...at this Springhill Suites we arrived to an empty lobby at around 1:30 in the morning. We waited for someone to appear but after ten minutes we became somewhat concerned. As what appeared to be our only option I called the hotels main number and just let it ring since I hoped someone would hear it. A woman slowly came across the lobby to us and asked "are you who's calling me" in a disgruntled manor. I was a little shocked and honestly too tired to deal this type of "greeting". As we where checked in by this person I asked about late checkout (platinum and gold members are given the benefit of check out until 4). This front desk staff, instead of acknowledging the late hour and my status with Marriott, instead started a crude negotiation of "well what time do you want to check out?", she then rejected the time I asked for and suggested something like 1pm. I reminded her at that time that I was a gold member and she said policy is for platinum members only to get checkout later than that. Being that this was almost 2am now I got my spouse up to our room and then looked up the Marriott guidelines....turns out I was correct... So I went back downstairs and informed her I would like management to contact me in the morning to address the checkout issue. She said no one would contact me but that she would change our checkout time to 3pm. I explained that I chose Marriott, depending on the late checkout, because of the timing and that I had to do some work before we got back on the road the next day. She continued to behave like my mere presence was disruptive to her evening. Well guess what...the next morning at 12, while my spouse and I are changing, the manager opens the door to me naked....yah that happened in our room with a "do not disturb" sign on the door. He shut the door quickly at my yell but at this point I was DONE. I quickly threw on my nightgown and met the manager in the hallway. He said he had me checking out at 12 and was checking rooms...couldn't that have been done with a call? Also what happened to late checkout? What is wrong with these people???? The service at this establishment is rude, my guess for the front desk lady from last night is that she was vindictive after being confronted on her behavior, and in general ruined our last night driving across country. Lastly the rooms had a very strange setup with bathrooms that appeared to be falling apart. I will include photos. read more

Very cool hotel - nothing like your typical options on the highway. The layout of the room was perfect for the five of us though I'd rather have solid doors on the water closet and shower room rather as opposed to opaque glass. We woke up ahead of the kids and didn't want the lights to bother them. Great shower. Big, clean and the shower head made for an awesome shower. Comfortable bed, too. We were only in the room for about 10 hours (most of it asleep) but it was an incredibly well laid out design. Breakfast was what you typically expect at hotels but given that it was a holiday weekend, it was filled with loud children. Here's a thought, don't let your kids run around the breakfast area like crazed banshees. The wifi in the dining room was slow but it was probably due to the negligent parents who were most likely surfing sites for boarding schools for their sugar-crazed kids. In spite of the kids, the hotel is a great option for traveling. read more

I was in Harrisburg on business, and this hotel is 5 minutes away from where I was working. It is a fairly new hotel, and the rooms are well appointed, with a separate living/work area, and sleeping area. Each room also has a small refrigerator and a microwave. I had a king room, but they also have rooms with two queens available. The staff was competent, and very friendly, and I felt at home right away. There is a small bar available if you want to relax a little after a long day on the road. An exercise room, and indoor pool and hot tub are also available. Complimentary breakfast is served every morning. It's not great, but it is good, and filling. There is a lot of food to choose from. NOTE: The hotel is right on the highway, so if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on the even side of the hotel, which is away from the road. I had a room facing the highway, but the noise did not bother me. read more

The rooms are way comfy and the service is very nice. It was very quiet and I was able to sleep comfortably for about three weeks stay. The downsides to this hotel are the lackluster "gym" - or lack thereof and pea sized swimming pool. I was hoping to be somewhat active here but there was nothing to do. All else equal, I'll stay here again but if I can find a similar (or even worse) hotel with a better gym I'll take that over this. read more

This hotel to me is decent in every way, excepting getting a good night's sleep. The front desk service is excellent, the fitness center is clean and equipped, the bar is grand. The breakfast is decent as well. The only problem as I see it is it's being situated against I 81, lacking substantial sound proofing. The road noise on the side facing 81 I find abominable. Besides truck noise guests here might be able to hear and see fire trucks, ambulances and perchance more frequently the piercing blue lights and shrill sirens of the police. If frequent acute noises and strobe lights from the streets don't bother you, I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. Though it seems located in a safe placed for myself being a light sleeper, it's a no go. read more

This is the noisiest hotel room I ever stayed at. Even though the room was very nice, decor and layout, the location right next to a busy four lane highway, left a lot to be desired. The noise all night long was oppressive. I have had better nights at airport locations. This hotel needs soundproof windows on the rooms facing the highway. The Internet connection is verrry slow. If you want to watch anything with movement, forget about it. For our second night I talked with the front desk manager. I was able to move our location to the other side of the building, away from the highway. The second night was so different. I slept like a log. No noise at all. When you make reservations at this hotel, be sure to ask for a room away from the highway. read more

Passing through on a road trip from MA to GA, we made the first day a short one. It was cold and late and the young lady at the front desk welcomed us warmly.  This SpringHill doesn't seem brand new, but it's well-maintained. They have the separate bathing room and toilet that we love at SpringHill. The room was clean and a comfortable size, with mini fridge and microwave.  Breakfast was standard SpringHill fare, which is fine. We like the fruit, ham, cheese and real hardboiled egg options. There are hot options as well. This location has a bar in the evenings open til 11, which is handy.  We stayed on points, so can't comment about rates. read more

I'm a Marriott gold member but this experience was the worst. First, hotel address does not work in GPS and brings you 4 miles away. They know about it according to guy at the front desk. REALLY! Late on a cold night last thing I want to do is drive around a strange town. Next, thermostat was set to 78 and couldn't be changed. It was an oven in the room and my nose was bleeding in the morning from extreme dry heat. Next, TV channels said "searching" or "No signal". Front desk said yea, we're getting a new TV system soon. Sorry but that's not Marriott standards. Very disappointed. read more

I am a loyal Marriott member so when looking for a hotel near Hershey for the night, we ended up here. Service: I checked in via the Marriott app, so that when I got there late after the park closed that my room would still be reserved. When I got to the desk, I waited 5 minutes for someone to show up to give me my key. There was seriously no one at the desk. Lobby: It looks exactly like the pictures. It is trendy and hipstery. There is a bar, that was hopping at 10pm on a Friday night. Didn't drink there, so can't comment on the bar other than it was popular. Room: Ugh. Where to start. Both the shower and the water closet have sliding doors with opaque glass. The issue here is that there was no way to lock the door and the doors on both rooms would slide open while you were in there. Both my husband and I tried keeping the door shut by trying various methods of closing it, but it always slide open. Both shower and water closet were dirty - I stepped on a slug in the water closet in the morning. There were large red stains on the carpet (I assume someone spilled Gatorade or something else) and there was a section of the carpet that was missing! The room is super dark (probably so I didn't notice any more dirt). Noise: Several people have commented on the noise and yes, the side facing the highway is noisy. I didn't have too many issues as I live near a train station and highway, but I could see this as an issue for those not use to the sounds. read more

No complaints at all. Great hotel. Our room was superb, and the sofa bed was huge and perfect for our daughter. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly, and it was set back from the main road so there was limited noise. It seems to be near everything (within a mile or two) while not being right in the midst of it - which is just what we wanted. I love a Marriott property, and this was another great one! read more

Here on business and it was recommended by the client. Fairly easy to find, but if you plug in the GPS address given you need to go a bit farther to get to the hotel. Nice decor, and I checked in on Hallowween and was given a box of chocolate bars! Nice touch. Great room to get some work done, good desk, lots of outlets. It was a bit weird having the toilet in a completely different room than the shower, but I managed :). Breakfast was good. I requested and received a quiet room. It was clean and cozy and contemporary. The bed was comfortable. The shower had a nice Delta fixture that optionally shot water at the mid section. The toilet is in a separate room from the shower--a nice feature for two people getting ready simultaneously. The TV was a large flat screen. The sofa included a trundle sleeper. For a one-night stay, this was perfect. read more
