This is the only hotel I will stay in when I come to Macon for business. I'm in town 3-4 times every year and I have stayed in quite a few of the different Marriott family hotels locally. This hotel is recently renovated and beautifully styled. A very clean/simple Scandinavian decor is used in the rooms. Such a refreshing change from the standard heavy colors and dark furniture you find in most hotels these days. The front desk staff is great. Always smiling and always very helpful if/when you need anything at all. The lovely lady who runs the breakfast buffet is hilarious. She's such a great person to talk to early in the morning. Just starts your day off on the right foot. The buffet is satisfactory as well. Hot food that is cooked each morning instead of the generic "continental breakfast" of bagels and cold cereal found at other places. My only negative is that the WiFi isn't the greatest. The connection is reliable, but it is unbelievably slow. To some people this wouldn't be a big issue. But when I was trying to upload business documents to my server I kept getting timeout errors due to the connection speed. If they would get that sorted out then I would have no problems giving a 5 star review. read more

This place is new and nice -- if it doesn't get a kick-ass manager, it is going to go downhill very fast. Desk staff told us they were not allowed to take reservations -- had to call the corporate Marriott line. Men's room off the lobby had neither soap nor towels. WiFi didn't work well. Nothing the staff can do about this one, but it will drive you nuts. Bathroom stuff is in two separate rooms -- like the toilet in one room and the sink in another. Just not user-friendly. Just weird. Nice location, near an a upscale mall. Rates OK. Not great competition in Macon, so it's not a bad choice. But I'm not sure I'll stay there again. read more

Very impressed with the cleanliness, design and overall experience. Stumbled upon this newly constructed SpringHill Suites. As a stop on vacation, I'm a little disappointed that breakfast service stopped at 9:00 am, but considering the typical business clientele, it is understandable. The room is nice with separate water closet and shower and very comfortable beds. Will definitely stay here again. read more

Have stayed here a few times but tonight will surely be our last. Positive: The staff is friendly and interactive. Negative: Last week we were here and there was a serious housekeeping issue. Management responded appropriately which I appreciated. Thought I'd give them another chance. Today they gave our reserved room type to someone else. A new employee had erred I was told. With my Marriott membership level, I am guaranteed the room I reserved will be available. I didn't even ask for the free upgrade that my membership allows. Manager responded well and placed us on "the side away from the interstate". That sounded good at the time. However, my wife and I are trying to sleep and all we hear is the periodic train whistle of passing trains. I never thought that as I select a hotel I'd have to look at a map to see where the nearest train tracks are. And now I hear a 400lb man pacing the floor above me. All I want is a good night's sleep after driving 9 hours. Not happening. read more

The cleanest, friendliest hotel you will find anywhere. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel compares to any expensive hotel you will find but with very affordable prices, I'm talking under $100. Includes free breakfast! Nice hotel, great location. picked this one based on others reviews because it's not beside the train tracks like other nearby hotels and I have an 18month old son However, they don't have bathtubs in the hotel, anywhere. needless to say we made due and I wouldn't normally care except I'm traveling with family and they don't advertise that. Everything is brand new. The interiors are modern advert comfortable. I stayed there twice and would definitely stay again. Breakfast is free with stay, pool and workout room are excellent as well. Staff is friendly and accommodating. read more

I have to say, I use to LOVE this place. I travel so often and enjoy a nice hotel room that welcomes me. Springhill use to be that place. I think that maybe the owners and management changed since last year, to their demise. All the lovely front desk staff are gone as is the breakfast lady. Very clean, nice, new hotel with friendly service. Better than average breakfast buffet. Rooms have high ceilings making them appear to have more room. Unique layout of toilet room and separate shower room. Still one major problem with the Marriott chains: No Coca-Cola products. read more

Brand new hotel near new shopping center. The decor is very modern. Friendly staff, good overall experience. One word of caution, don't stay in 209, as the building's air condition units are just outside. If one happens to be making a loud racket, as it was while we were there, you may find it a little difficult to sleep. read more

I stayed with my daughter and few of her friend's. The air did not work call the hotel manager he said it is nothing he could do. I had to sleep with the door cracked. Heard everything in the Hallway. As I was checking out I complain at checkout. The front desk staff called the manager that was on duty that night he said he could only offer me a drink. Really, Then I tried to address the situation with the general manager. She was rude didn't want to hear anything I had to say. She told me that the night manager told her I had to many people in the room and it was a mess . This was a complete lie I told I made sure I had ever cleaned before I left and had proof. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at this hotel. The front desk clerk had a dry personality and was very abrupt with communication. They did not meet our request with the preferred room type and they put us in a room that appeared to have been occupied. There was stinky food in the fridge and the couch looked messed up and stained. They did move us to another room where it smelled like dog urine. When we called the front desk to request a third room we were put on hold. We ended up leaving the hotel and calling them later to let them know we had checked out, but when we drove by the front desk we noticed that the receptionist was just standing there alone so we couldn't quite figure out how she was too busy to take our call. It was late at night and we had to drive a long ways to find a vacancy else where plus our money had to be held for 3 days before being refunded. read more

Always stay in brand new hotels. Easy rule of thumb. Centrally located and convenient to the highway. No complaints and found the modern decor lovely. Breakfast was fabulous. They clearly know how to deal with large groups. We were there for state tennis championships and shared the hotel with tons of beauty queens. Only complaint is the air freshener that housekeeping sprays -- unnecessary and too strong. read more

I am a Marriott club member so I do all my check-ins by the app. I have a time of 3pm arrival time. Was told my room was not ready come back in 30 minutes. Cam back at 4pm and still had to wait about 10 minutes for my room. When we arrived in the room it was Freezing. The AC was at 60 degrees. Turned it completely off and it took awhile for it to heat up. Went to the in door pool with my kids and it was also freezing , and so loud so we came back after dinner , there where no towels when we got out. So I walked to the front desk dropping wet and she apologized and gave me 2 bath towels, however we are a family of 6 so we had to share 2 towl a just to walk back up to the room. The morning food was not all that great and they ran out of food. The staff was friendly and that's the only reason why I gave this place a 2. There are many other hotels we can stay at so we won't be back to this one. Which is a shame because the room was nice just freezing.. read more

We booked two 2-queen size bed rooms months in advance. Arrived to two 1-king size bed rooms, was told they overbooked. Had to fit 10 people on 2 kings and 2 couches. Tried to use the refrigerator in room and after 2 hours on the quick-freeze function, nothing was even chilled. Bathroom had 2 conditioners and no shampoo. Shower head was absolutely horrible to use. read more

Have stayed twice at this hotel within the past month. The 1st time our room was on the 3rd floor & it smelled AWFUL!!! Smelt like a high school gym locker room that had been closed up & when we opened the door we were hit in the face with a funk that could only be described as MUSKY. Our second time was this past weekend; room on the 1st floor & it had the SAME SMELL!!! OMGGGG! It's a nice hotel but they need 2 do something a/b the lingering odors. read more

Nice clean and well kept. Friendly staff, desk clerks are awesome and helpful...however my nit picky stuff double beds and only two towels!? Most women alone use two! So in the a.m. while trying to get ready the child had to go get towels. I also hate your shower faucet it's even worse than the just one knob to twirl around for hot and cold....... Long story short just give me more towels and all will be forgiven. read more

We had an interesting visit here. First of all, the hotel is very pretty and new. Everything was clean. The rooms have a great layout--an area for work and sleep, plus sinks in separate areas. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was decent, though the area was crowded. Three things kept us from considering a stay in the future. First of all, I was sent to a non-existent room (237 written on card holder), and there were no trolleys--lugging stuff for work and a double set of out-of-town travel was no fun, only to find the front desk had written down the wrong number (it was supposed to be 327). I lugged everything back to the elevator and up to 327, and the keys didn't work. Luckily, the front desk sent up correct keys. Second, on Sunday morning at 9:20, they ran out of coffee, and made no more (at least not in the 20 minutes we waited/checked). Finally, before we had even called the front desk or checked out via our mobile app (before 10 AM), housekeeping was knocking on our door--we were packing and getting dressed and showering. That was a bit embarrassing--my experience has usually been that until the front desk gets a check out call (or it's very close to the official check out time), guests are undisturbed. The room was slightly noisy, but I travel with ear plugs. As a long-time Marriott Rewards member, when snafus happen, I usually get some points for my inconvenience. Nope. I never even got a final bill--and it's been a week. So--while the decor and comfort is nice, they are clearly still working out some details of staffing and managing logistics. I will probably consider one of the other Marriott properties when I travel to Macon again. read more

Was in town for Tennis Tournament. Even know special rate was negotiated with hotel, said they had no record. Only reason I stayed is had reward points. Took over 2 hours to book w 3 different rude front desk people. When asked one person for their corporate phone number, she told me to look it up online if I wanted it? Left multiple messages for manager, but would not return call. When arrived, room smelled like combination body odor and mold. Called from desk and asked them to come check out. Admitted how horrible smell was but said no other rooms and gave us can of Lysol. Also had spiders in room. No air in workout gym and property just not kept well. Stay away, for price better options. Moving to another hotel today. Reward points or not- done with Spring Hill Suites!!!! read more

OMGGGG! We booked this hotel a month ago. We arrived and checked into the room which was on the 1st floor. As soon as we opened the door, we almost fell to the floor. The odor was horrible. It smelled worst than a hog pen! We spoke to management and they sent a maintenance guy to the room. He tried to spray but he stated he couldn't stay in room bc of the smell. He also went back to speak to manager along with us and the manager became irritated and was extremely rude. He told us to go find a room somewhere else when he knew that all hotels were completely booked bc of the hurricane. He said that he has other people the wouldn't mind staying in the room. He shouldn't want any guest to stay in a musty room. I was extremely disappointed with the way a Manager of this hotel chain would treat anyone, especially a Marriott rewards member.....we were here on business but I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT STAY AT THIS SPRINGHILL Suites by MARRIOTT AGAIN!!
