I stayed here for two nights recently and I definitely have mixed feelings. Check in was a breeze. I got my status points and was given the low-down. The gym is still closed due to COVID. One of the dining options there was closed as well. They did offer breakfast at an additional cost, which I was surprised I didn't get for free due to status, but that's okay. The room seemingly was fine. I liked the set up and the courtyard view. I'm not sure if the pool is / was open or if no one was out there due to the weather. The first issue I had was the toilet. I first noticed it sticking and running non-stop. I thought I fixed it and then eventually it wouldn't fill up with water. By that time I figured might as well not say anything because I'm not switching rooms at this point so I just figured it out as I "went". I saw some gunk, which looked like dried snot on the bathroom wall. I didn't inspect it, believe me. Another thing that bothered me is that this hotel was seemingly empty, yet all of the guests seemed to be housed in the same area. I don't know what this area is doing in terms of social distancing but this wasn't it. I had people all around me. So that was kind of annoying to me to be honest. I was given my late check out which I appreciated and used it almost fully since I was working from there. The interaction I had with the desk staff was always pleasant, but I didn't feel like this place was the cleanest and that really didn't sit well with me.

I hate pests... hard to sleep because even though he's dead I know he's got friends close by.

I really have mixed feelings because the state was not terrible there were just a few minor inconveniences. The worst part of this day was there was a huge cockroach in my room. It was disgusting and while I know it can't hurt me it really grossed me out and made me want to leave. Not to mention, this is my second incident with pests at a Marriott location. I had an ear attack at another location and I just don't understand why pest control is not priority! I think the staff was helpful, but I think we're all just kind of going through things so there was really no above and beyond everyone was just OK, but not unfriendly. I just didn't feel like it was the cleanest place and I felt like they could do a little better and were below the bare minimum. I am willing to consider staying again, but I think I'll try one of the Hilton properties instead.

Be careful and watch your credit cards! I have over 28,000 on trip advisor and left a great review on this place the day after my stay, wish i could change that .... ""Go ahead, spend the extra money, and enjoy that you did. It's got the Marriott name, so if it isn't good, they'll do what they have to in order to make it better. I enjoyed my night, because i chose the best. Downstairs they have food cooked to order, snacks, drinks. Room was superb, very comfy and a good feeling inside. Thick walls made it quiet enough for a good sleep. There are many choices in this "better area" of Macon. There are cheap choices in the bad areas. Go ahead. Spend the extra. You'll be glad you did."" SIX DAYS after my stay, i get a charge for who knows what!! I prepaid through #priceline, but they wanted a CC for expenses. Seems they wanted it to add on charges and hope I didn't see it. Maybe a bonus for an employee??!!?? Apparently it's fixed, but I won't be satisfied until i see it in my account!!! If you're like me, you can mess with a lot of things, but NEVER with my money!!! BE CAREFUL!! Watch your bank statement even a week after staying here! They may try to SNEAK in a charge on you! Funny, the lady who "fixed it", she didn't know why I was charged!! Someone knows. Someone had to do it!!

BEDBUGS! Yes, that's right. 2/18/16 room 319. Probably don't need to write much of a review here. And not only is it a verified bed bug, there were absolutely ZERO protocols in place on how to handle this, and they made me do all of the leg work. I had to throw away my suitcase and backpack because of larvae, and the risk of bringing it home; costing me over $500. To boot, they needed to call in someone to verify my claim and when I asked if it was indeed a bed bug, she said "yes, and they only found a few more." No one seemed to comprehend that these little critters don't just live in the bed, but also in the carpet, drapes, etc. Nearly a month later, still no reimbursement. I had to request that they comp my stay. They compensated one night out of three and gave me a lousy 10,000 points. I also lost billable time with my client because I needed to jump through hoops to get all of my laundry together and down to them for immediate decon. They call me at 11am to tell me this, and not before I left for the day. At 6:30 pm, when second shift arrived and I inquired about my laundry, they had no idea what I was talking about. At 8:30pm, when I arrived from dinner, my laundry was on my bed, still warm. It was a total cluster and no one had any clear marching orders on how to handle a bed bug situation. My skin literally crawled for a week and the bites were painful and itchy.

Not a well maintained property. This was just the beginning.

My bride booked it because it looked a little quirky online. I approached the whole affair with some caution. Lately, a few Marriott's hotels have developed the unfortunate habit of looking better on the internet than they do when you pull into the parking lot. I feared this might be another one of those adventures. I was wrong. The theme was Georgia peaches, and they carried that peach wagon all the way across the finish line. From the fresh peaches waiting when we arrived to the peach sangria offered at check-in, they never missed a note. It wasn't gimmicky. It was thoughtful. The place was spotless. The corridors were clean, the elevator corners were free of the dust bunnies that usually reveal a hotel's true character, and the room was cool, comfortable, and as clean as a grandmother's living room before company arrives. The peach-scented toiletries in the bathroom were a nice touch, though they nearly had to compete with the professionalism of the staff. Everyone we encountered was pleasant, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy to be there--something that cannot be manufactured by a corporate training video. And then there was happy hour. My favorite hour. The rooftop bar was excellent, offering good drinks, good views, and a fine place to sit for a spell and watch the day wind down. When we left, I found myself doing something I don't often do with hotels these days: planning a return trip. I'd most definitely stay here again. Sometimes a place promises an experience. This one delivered it, peach by peach.

What really set this experience apart, though, was the people. From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed. Hevert, the night manager, along with the security team, went above and beyond--sharing insights about the city and the rich history behind the building. That level of engagement makes a difference. We also had brunch at Loom, and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and Lucas at the bar crafted cocktails like a true professional--balanced, intentional, and memorable. Our server, Jay, was equally impressive. His demeanor, attentiveness, and genuine warmth made the experience even better. He's the kind of person you remember after you leave.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and if I lived in town, I would eat here regularly. As to the actual hotel, This looks to have once been a Courtyard that they just haven't updated. The rooms, bar, restaurant, indoor pool, etc all remind me of a courtyard, but everything needs to be replaced. For example, our room was a typical, comfortable courtyard room BUT the bathroom door had water damage, as did the edge of the mirror. The chairs in the restaurant were unique, boutique type chairs, typical of courtyard, but they were a little dingy. BUT i feel like the lower nightly price reflects that. We will absolutely stay here again if we are in town. Side note: it's only 5 minutes from the Ocmulgee Mounds National park which is an absolute must see if you love history and/or nature trails.

I was a bit bummed. Room was nice, but did smell intermittently, which I believe came from the construction going on nearby/outside. Now for the pluses. Front desk staff were super nice and helpful. Concierge lounge was up and running. Loved the regular sized bottles of water. Staff there did a great job--cleaned tables and wiped them down. Location was convenient to a variety of places to eat near by. In general, I try to stay at places that don't charge for parking. You are already paying to stay there, so glad there was not any additional parking costs. Nice sized lot so it was awesome I didn't have to drive around and around looking for a spot to park. Did I say the staff was super nice? Well I am saying it again since it was refreshing to have folks who really seemed to do what they could to ensure you had a nice stay.. Room was clean. Towels were my favorite absorbent ones. Water pressure and temperature were on target. Nice long counter in the bathroom. Larger fridge in the room. Bed and sheets were comfy and inviting. Lots of outlets for charging your devices. Definitely more pluses than challenges!

We picked this place because it was close to the freeway, many other places and pet friendly with a minimal fee per pet. $20.00 per pet is the most reasonable I have come across when traveling with the pups. Bedding could use a good wash. The fixtures, chairs, towels, doors etc could use a good coat of fresh paint. Loved the faux wood floors versus carpet which usually creeps me out in hotels. The room is a hybrid of so- so updates with some things sticking around from the 80s. Didn't stay for the ambiance- just needed a place for the night and a reasonable pet fee. Breakfast in the am. On Tuesday…read moreevening, May 5th, we went directly to the front desk IN PERSON to cancel the final night of our reservation for May 7th. We spoke with Megan, who told us the cancellation had been "released on their end" and specifically instructed us to contact Hotels.com for the refund because the hotel had already handled their side. Now Hotels.com is claiming the hotel NEVER canceled the reservation, and when we called the hotel back, we were told there are "no notes in the system" and apparently no record of the conversation at all. Trying to resolve this with Hotels.com and the hotel has been a nightmare. Multiple calls, being transferred around, language barriers making communication extremely difficult, endless "so sorry for bad experience" responses, yet absolutely NO actual help or accountability from either side. The hotel says it wasn't canceled, Hotels.com says the hotel never notified them, and meanwhile the customer gets stuck paying for a room they canceled TWO DAYS EARLY in person. Beyond the cancellation issue, the stay itself was not pleasant. The beds were hard as a rock and incredibly uncomfortable. The bathroom was so tiny you could practically touch the door while sitting on the toilet. You had to walk to another building entirely just to get breakfast. To top it off, the toilet clogged during our stay and nobody could even bring a plunger until the next morning. Overall this was an extremely frustrating experience from start to finish, with poor communication, poor customer service, and zero accountability. We absolutely would not stay here again and would strongly recommend others think twice before booking here, especially through Hotels.com.
