This is a brand new hotel opened in July 2021. So, it's modern, clean, and stylish. I'm so happy that the guest room is clean, spacious, and well appointed. I also love the location. The area is very quiet and seems safe. There are shopping centers at the highway (I-80) entrance/exit (0.5 mile from the hotel) where you can find In-N-Out, Starbucks, Panda Express, and other restaurants (if you are not picky). If you want more options, downtown West Sacramento is only about 5 minutes and down Sacramento only about 10 minutes. Parking is free, and there's a lot of it. Parking spaces are generous in size. There are even covered parking slots behind hotel. They also serve complimentary breakfast. We used to stay at the Marriott in Midtown Sacramento. It's a much older hotel, and parking costs $15 per night. So, I decided to reallocate the $15 and decided to stay in West Sacramento. I cannot be happier. ************************************************************ If you found my review helpful, please smash the "useful" button! There aren't a lot of good hotel options in this area and I chose this one since it is new. It is a decent option...it's functional. The gym is decent and the rooms were OK. The front desk lady when we checked in seemed a little "checked out". See what I did there...I amuse myself sometimes.

Breakfast is barely minimum. Pool is small and not heated. Room doesnt have tub and the bedding is not comfortable. I paid for a parking permit at this hotel and left with over $3,000 in vehicle damage, due to what…read moreI can only describe as gross mismanagement and a total lack of accountability. For transparency, this happened in October 2024. I've tried to move on, but the situation has weighed heavily on me since, which is why I'm writing this review now. We checked in earlier in the evening and paid $10 for a parking permit. When we returned later that night, the parking lot was completely full -- not just full, but so congested that cars were parked directly in front of the lobby doors. Despite being at or near capacity, the hotel continued selling parking permits. My partner went to the front desk to ask what we were supposed to do. The front desk employee told her verbatim that we could park in a red zone inside the hotel's parking lot, as long as we didn't block a fire hydrant. We relied on that instruction and parked exactly where we were told, leaving ample clearance around the car. When we checked out, my car had clearly been hit overnight. There was a large dent in the passenger door with white paint transfer. The damage was significant enough that the entire door had to be replaced, costing over $3,000. As if my car -- which was only eight months old at the time -- being hit wasn't bad enough, the hotel somehow managed to make an already bad situation worse. Hotel management, led by then-manager Sarah Dirisu, was completely unhelpful and avoided responsibility at every turn. After countless phone calls attempting to reach management, and being told multiple times by staff that management was "offsite," the hotel eventually claimed their cameras "couldn't see" the area where my car was parked. Not only was I refused access to any footage, I was not even allowed to view whatever footage they claimed to have. Law enforcement also requested footage and was similarly denied. Hilton's internal "investigation" was handled by Mike McClain, a Hilton claims adjuster, who concluded that Hilton had done nothing wrong. An employee of the company investigating his own company and finding no fault does not inspire confidence. While I am not alleging that anyone intentionally damaged my car, I am stating exactly what happened: the hotel oversold parking, instructed a guest to park in a prohibited area, and then stonewalled when predictable damage occurred. The refusal to share or even allow viewing of footage -- including with police -- speaks volumes about how seriously guest concerns are taken. This entire situation was preventable. The hotel could have stopped selling parking permits, offered refunds, or simply admitted they were at capacity. Instead, they chose the path of least effort and zero accountability. If you care about your vehicle, transparency, or basic responsibility from a hotel you're paying to stay at, do not stay here. Also, the rooms themselves are rug-stained, rundown, and wildly overhyped -- closer to a Motel 6 experience than a Hilton-branded stay.

I was greeted by helpful staff and started exploring the lobby and the amenities, it was my first time in Sacramento, as well as my first time Meeting & Greeting a young lady I had met Online ‍‍ We weren't meeting up for a few more hours so I decided to explore the area for things to keep us busy, mind you it's Memorial Day Weekend The staff at the Embassy asked what brought me there and so I told them about how we met and what got us to this point. The staff saw I was a bit nervous/anxious and immediately without my knowledge, jumped into "Action". I asked about having flowers delivered.... Then they gave me recommendations for attractions and events for the holiday weekend "Do you have any dinner reservations we can help with"....these were some of the suggestions and questions I got ‍‍‍ After exploring, I came back to see if my room was ready, and I had been upgraded to a Suite, which had a view overlooking the River Then she arrives ‍‍ And I head to the lobby to greet her, she asked to see my room, so we went back up & upon arrival...the flowers I had ordered were in front of my door she was so surprised and I totally wasn't expecting that delivery by the staff I showed her the room and the view then we went horseback riding. We got back around 730-8pm the staff had changed but all knew this was a special weekend, because once we got back to the room we had an even bigger surprise.... The atrium was fun for the kids to see their friends and the breakfast was wonderful! The hardest part for me was waking up to a pretty serious water leak above my bed dripping consistently on the pillow next to me. I immediately called the front desk and the person I spoke with didn't seem concerned at all and said the engineer wasn't in until 7am. My daughter was sleeping soundly, but having a steady flow of water dripping on my bed meant I was up at 4:45am with a third full day of education ahead of me. Literally nothing was done to improve the situation and I just hope and pray the leak was fixed before they put anyone else in the room. It would have been nice to offer SOMETHING to make things right. Don't stay in room 420 or at least ask if the water leak has been fixed!

We walked in and she asked for paperwork on his dog but its unlawful to ask for registration paperwork for a service dog. The only thing that can be requested is what tasks can a SD provide or the question "what is a service dog?" You cant ask for paper work or what disability someone has. She told us that she doesnt know ADA laws but that the website "Expedia" which is what i booked though, told them they have to ask and get scannings of the paperwork. I explained that legally they cant ask for that and she went on saying "I have allergies to dogs so they allow me to ask" well legally they cant. They nearly denied us the room i paid for with no refund all because of my partners very much needed service dog. Seperate from the dog, the bathroom was COVERED in mold and German field roaches, the table in the room was broken to the point it can injure someone, tv doesnt work, bed was hard as a rock, ac didnt work, and you can hear literally every little sound from any room or outside. I personally didn't need to stay the night but my boyfriend did and I did see the room. The lights were dim and yellow and everything looked old. The sheets look kinda yellow too. The toilet seat looked off to me so I wiped it down with some wet wipes and my wipes were STAINED RED. What the hell was on there?! The kitchen table was sticky too. I booked a one-week stay from January 10-17 at Extended Stay America Suites in West Sacramento,…read moreroom 308, after safety issues forced me to temporarily leave my home. I expected a basic but secure environment. Instead, the conditions at this property made it feel unsafe and uninhabitable. From the moment I checked in, there was ongoing, visible activity that posed serious safety concerns. Individuals engaged in apparent prostitution and groups openly congregated outside the building and inside the hallways, including near my room. This was not an isolated incident--it was continuous and highly noticeable. As a solo guest, I did not feel safe remaining on the property. Due to these conditions, I immediately attempted to cancel my reservation and request a refund, explaining that the environment posed a personal safety risk and that I could not reasonably stay under these circumstances. Despite clearly communicating these concerns, I was unable to receive meaningful assistance or a reasonable resolution. A hotel's most basic responsibility is to provide a safe environment for its guests. When that standard is not met, guests should not be financially penalized for leaving. I am posting this review to formally document that the stay from January 10-17 was not safely usable and to urge Extended Stay America to take responsibility and issue a refund. I strongly caution anyone--especially solo travelers or those staying out of necessity--to reconsider this location.

I really liked this hotel, but ultimately left feeling disappointed…read more There were several things I appreciated. The tall ceilings and quiet rooms--thanks to excellent insulation--made the stay very comfortable. I also liked the different water options available near the front desk, especially since the bottled water in the rooms cost $10 each. The music in the pool area created a great atmosphere, and the jacuzzi was a nice size and very enjoyable. However, the main issue was the mandatory valet fee--even when not using valet service. This makes no sense and feels unreasonable. If arriving by Uber or not bringing a car, there is no justification for being charged valet. The website does not clearly state that valet is mandatory, and there was no prior notice when booking. At check-in, staff simply said, "We have to charge it anyway," regardless of whether the service was used. The fee is also quite high at $52 per night, which adds up quickly for a service not utilized. According to previous reviews, valet fees have increased significantly over the past three years. I would not stay at this Westin Hotels & Resorts location again. The accumulation of mandatory fees makes the experience feel transactional rather than guest-focused. I would much rather voluntarily tip valet staff when I actually use and appreciate their service, rather than be required to pay a substantial fee regardless of need. Overall, while the hotel has many appealing qualities, the mandatory valet charge without clear disclosure or usage was a major drawback.

We would definitely stay at Springhill Suites in the future. Fun thing.... There are turkeys that roam around the area. We saw them each day we were there.

The room was clean, but overall it was fairly basic and nothing particularly memorable. In the kitchenette, there was a kitchen towel provided but no dish soap. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were also very basic. Breakfast on Saturday morning was disappointing. The selection was limited, and the scrambled eggs ran out. When we asked if more eggs were coming, we were told they would be replenished, but they never were. What bothered me most, however, was the billing process. Upon checkout on Sunday morning, I received a receipt showing room charges of $229.64 per night for two nights, totaling $459.28. However, my credit card was charged $310.16 and $289.84, bringing the total pending charges to $600. When I called for clarification, I was told that the hotel places a $100 deposit hold and that the amount was "rounded up." While I completely understand and accept a standard $100 incidental deposit, I did not authorize additional charges beyond the stated room rate and deposit. The clerks also explained that the $100 incidental deposit had already been released and that the charges should correct themselves within 2 to 10 business days, depending on my bank. While I appreciate the explanation, it would have been helpful if this process had been communicated more clearly at check-in or checkout. Seeing $150 in additional pending charges without prior notice is extremely concerning. Overall, the hotel was adequate for a graduation weekend stay, but the basic amenities, underwhelming breakfast, and especially the confusing billing practices would make me think twice before booking here again.
