The registry and dining/bar area are in a separate building than the rooms. No attendants after hours. Entry to the room and building are based on code entry. Quiet neighborhood in front of the park but nothing too close by in walking distance to visit. Each room appears to be different. Enjoyed the serenity room with in suite jacuzzi. Breakfast not included but was offered at $30 pp. yikes! No thanks.

I booked one night for me and my daughter to attend a concert at Golden One. The innkeeper was friendly and gave us a tour of the place which is so charming and well decorated. She explained how to get in and out of the Inn (door codes), where to park our car, where we could charge our car (just 1/2 block away). It was conveniently close to the venue (1 mile) and we easily got there and back via Lyft. The room (Invigorate) was quiet and aesthetic. Included pics, but they don't do the room justice esp since we took them on our way to check out. The marble tile bathroom and countertop looked new and the design was beautiful and functional. They have thought of all modern amenities for their rooms while maintaining the decor of vintage charm. Tv, quaint desk and chair, plenty of outlets for charging, a fridge, a coffee/tea center, sitting area with two chairs and a table, fluffy towels, a closet with 2 plush robes, an iron and ironing board, safe for valuables, luggage rack... I was surprised to see that everything you find in a traditional hotel room was included. The floor was clean the beds and linens were cozy. The park across the street was busy with people enjoying it on a Sunday. This inn is located in downtown Sacramento so yes, as with most downtown areas there will be people who are unhoused. I've found that in most downtown areas regardless of which city. As with any big city I would exercise an abundance of caution if you want to walk around at night, but my daughter and I felt safe taking a Lyft and being dropped off at 11 pm in front of the building. The entry way was well lit and has a Ring security camera. Their property offers only 4 first come first serve parking spots in the alley next to it, but they do provide a parking pass to park on the street. Again, exercise caution and do not leave valuables in your car. This is a big city. Overall, a beautiful Bed & Breakfast and great stay in a convenient location. One thing to mention, breakfast is only served on weekends, but we found Tower Cafe nearby (1 mile) and it was amazing. We'd stay again next time we visit Sacramento (but know that rooms seem to be designed primarily for 2 guests) We'd love to try the spa in the future.

This place is excellent. My girlfriend and I booked the serenity suite spa. We were able to completely relax and reconnect. The staff are very kind and helpful. The room is very comfortable and enjoyable. We added breakfast to our stay which was well worth it. We highly recommend and look forward to our next stay! Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Beyond what I expected. A perfect place for a couples hideaway. The serenity suit is BEAUTIFUL. Talk about romantic!!!! Had a small mishap and it was IMMEDIATELY taken care of by the owner himself. I was well taken care of and compensated. The staff is sooo kind and helpful. They have contactless check in which I thought would be difficult but it ended up being easy ! It is a bit pricey but well worth it for the care and professionalism. The standards they hold are extremely high, probably one of the top 10 cleanest rooms I've stayed in. The serenity suit would be the perfect surprise for anniversaries or birthdays or just because!!! I can't wait to come back and give the harmony suit a try! Hopefully the spa will be open by then ! Would just make an already great experience even better!!!

Our second stay here, the only downfall (Thank you COVID) is that the spa and bar and breakfast is not happening. The rooms are stunning and the beds are second to none. Like sleeping on a cloud. Quiet and serene!

My husband and I had a very poor experience here. I wish I had read the bad Yelp reviews, along with the owner's rude, snarky responses to those reviews, before booking. Our customer service experience was a 1 on a 10-point scale. We booked our room on Priceline because, in part, breakfast was included with our room (see attached photo). However, the manager did not honor the free breakfast, stating that breakfast was only included for those who booked via the phone or the Inn's website. The email we received a few hours before arriving indicated as much, but I assumed the conflict in online policies was the result of disorganization--surely the management would honor the room description they'd given to Priceline. When we inquired about breakfast and showed the woman in charge of breakfast the Priceline description of our room, she was unprofessional and indiscreet, arguing so loudly that everyone dining stopped talking to listen to her. The best the manager would do is give us a discount on breakfast. Other considerations: the Inn smells like mildew, the carpet in our room was matted and grungy; and there was a piece of trash (candy wrapper) on the ground by the TV when we arrived. Moreover, the staff up front was unhelpful. When I called to ask what we would need to do to make our late arrival smooth (no one is available to help arrivals after 7 PM), she offered no information other than the room code. I had to ask about parking etc. Had we been given the free breakfast that was promised, we still would have felt that we overpaid for the experience. Update: After I posted this review, I received a rude email from the inn management insinuating that I'd lied about booking our room via Priceline, and declaring, despite photographic evidence, that the Priceline description of our room did not promise a full breakfast. I asked the manager to comp us for the price of breakfast, but she never responded. This was truly the worst experience I have ever had with any customer service.

    Well worn kitchenette in happiness.

Our day started with brunch, which blew us away. The service was calm and intentional, a great start to the day. It was hot out, but the misters kept us cool. We both participated in the Pick your own bouquet at $35. It came with a tall vase to fill, someone to explain the floral do's and dont's of the field, and a pair of shears to borrow for your duty. The paths between the flowers are dirt and grass, so bear in mind your footwear and attire when booking! This would be a perfect spot for families. Overall an incredible experience, being able to even walk the grounds was enough to make a good day, great.

The server told us they operate out of a food truck. So the menu is limited. But what they make is really good! We ordered the lemonade, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros divorciados, and the strawberry champagne sherbet. Service was very prompt! The actual menu in-person had a couple items that aren't on the sample menu including a couple more dessert options like fig ice cream. We really liked everything we tried! The portions were pretty good. If coming here for food I'd recommend getting here early since food trucks have limited capacity. You're welcome to stroll around the property both the flower farm and the inn side before or after your meal. The parking situation is a gravel lot. So it may not be the most handicap accessible place. We had a lot of fun stopping by Park Winters. They were setting up for a wedding so the inn side would have been closed for the event starting at 1pm. The check also came with a small map of the property for you to keep. This was very helpful in exploring the property. The only caveat is this is the countryside. Wear long pants or be prepared with insect repellent! Even at 10am in the summer my legs were bitten by mosquitoes. (Type O blood. Mosquito magnet here.) I'd like if they burned some citronella candles to help with mosquitoes. The rest of the dining venue was so thoughtfully designed including timed misters (like at theme parks) to help keep the area cool. Definitely check it out if you're curious or in the area.

He went inside as I waited in the car to check us in. When he came out to get me my first thought was okay this is different. Sterling Hotel by Wedgewood Events is a charming escape right in the center of Downtown Sacramento's action. The magnificent dome, stained-glass entry, and historically unique hotel is pretty well kept for its age. My favorite part of the room was the tub. The bed was comfortable and quiet, yay!! Huge and although the view from the window wasn't great I could see my car. Downtown Sac is known for its night life which we don't care for but it's not the safest place either. Parking was in the street and it's not free from 8am-10pm. There is a nearby garage but it's cheaper to park on the street. The short time I was there I didn't see any workers. But the note in our room did give us instructions if we needed further assistance. We aren't needy and don't like to be bothered so it was fine, just different. When we arrived, however, we were told the housekeeper had called in sick. Not only were we unable to check in early, but we actually had to leave the wedding to come back and check in an hour and a half after the normal check-in time. The room appeared clean at first, but I woke up with four bites around my ankle from some sort of bug. The thermostat gave us a warning that the air quality was poor. When I got up to take a shower, I noticed the spa tub was severely cracked, and the shower itself was difficult to turn on. While showering and avoiding cracks, I also noticed what I sincerely hope was ketchup on three different tiles. I keep telling myself it was not blood. The hotel was convenient because of its proximity to the wedding, but having to leave the wedding to finally check in and claim our bags was incredibly frustrating, especially after I had called ahead specifically to avoid this situation. The front desk person was extremely apologetic, which I appreciated, but overall, they need to do better especially when they know in advance that a wedding party will be staying at the hotel. I am disappointed I wasted by OneKey credit on this room.

I took long walks in the early morning. West of the hotel on N Street, there are some fantastic Streamline Moderne government buildings, as well as some snazzy old apartment buildings. The capitol looks typical from the outside, but the inside is worthy of a wander. It's about a thirty-minute jaunt to the river from the hotel. As a woman traveling by myself, my safety and comfort are extremely important to me, so I made the decision to cancel the reservation and look for another hotel. What was most disappointing was how this situation was handled. I reached out hoping the hotel might be willing to work with me in some way--whether that meant accommodating my concerns, allowing me to stay under different circumstances, or simply trying to find a reasonable solution so I wouldn't lose the money I had already paid. Instead, I felt completely dismissed. My experience with Vee the General Manager, was especially upsetting. I found the interaction to be rude, insulting, and completely lacking in professionalism or basic customer service. A General Manager should be someone who understands that situations like this require empathy, patience, and an effort to find a solution--not someone who makes a customer feel worse for raising legitimate concerns. Unfortunately, this experience has affected not only my opinion of Governor's Inn, but also my trust in Expedia. I still have a couple of other reservations booked through Expedia that I will honor, but after those are completed, I will no longer be giving Expedia my business. I will also never book or recommend Governor's Inn again. Sometimes the smallest effort to accommodate a customer can make a huge difference. Unfortunately, I did not receive that effort here. I am sharing this review because I believe other travelers--especially anyone traveling alone--deserve to know about my experience before making a reservation. Governor's Inn and Expedia have permanently lost my business. They don't deserve my time or business at all.
