My husband and I usually stay at Marriott properties since we're members, and this stay was a great experience. We were traveling from L.A. and landed around 11:30 a.m., and we were able to check in early, which was perfect and very much appreciated. Our room was spacious, clean, and included a full kitchen. The complimentary breakfast was a nice added touch, and the overall service was great. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel is about five miles from the airport. They do offer a hotel shuttle, but we had a rental car, so getting around was easy for us. Parking is free. read more

I was completely happy with this place! Check in went smoothly! The room was ready and nice and clean. One of the many perks was being able to charge your vehicle too! Sad part is some folks just leave their car there after it's been charged. Another perk was being able to park your car there and caching a shuttle to the airport! On our recent weekend Lake Tahoe trip, we decided to book this hotel in Sacramento as our base on the way back since we wanted to pick-up some goodies at Mahoroba Bakery. It was also pet friendly, free parking and close to some of the places I had bookmarked in the Sacramento area. There's a pet charge of $75 (flat rate) with a maximum of two dogs. Some other hotels were charging $50 per pet to $100. Check-in was a breeze and friendly. Breakfast was included, and they served your typical selections of cereal, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, toast and coffee. The rooms are your typical cookie-cutter modern look that includes a kitchenette, a refrigerator and a sleeper sofa. The size of the bed was a king size bed with a flat screen TV mounted on the side of the wall, which isn't very ergonomical since you gotta twist your neck to your left due to the bed location. This is one of my pet peeves in hotels as this room had plenty of wall space to mount the TV in front of the bed. The bathroom was also typical, and this is where we had some issues with our stay. I'm not sure how often PM's (Preventive Maintenance) are performed, but I'm guessing it's been a while since both the sink and shower had slow drains every time we used them. They are probably clogged with hair, gunk and other body fluids that needs to be cleared up. Although the hotel looks fairly new, the room we were staying in had signs of wear and tear. Particularly, the side of the bed had a huge gash of carpet material that was missing. It was about 2 to 3 feet in length. Again, it comes down to proper PM. I sound like I'm nitpicking, but these are the things I immediately notice since I work in the industry. We do appreciate the size of the refrigerator as we were able to utilize them for the pet food. Being able to cook and reheat food is also a major plus. All in all, it was a good stay and both dogs got to enjoy the bed with us. 3 1/2 stars. read more

These rooms have kitchens that include fridge, dishwasher, microwave, stove top, coffee maker and kitchen tools. The bed was comfy. They offer free breakfast, free parking and shuttle to the airport. It's in a great location near the freeway and many restaurants. The staff was friendly. The only reason I didn't get it but five stars is the carpet seemed dirty in the hallway and the walls are dinged up. It gave me the vibes of an assisted living facility. There were dirty towels in the hallway when I checked in and still there in the morning when I left. read more

Great place to stay. We stayed in early April 2024. Nice area, pleasant staff, big lobby and bbq in pool area. We gathered family in a middle point which was Sac. We used the pool and bbq the first night. Loved that the bbq was in the pool area. The rooms are big and clean. The only thing was some repairs/updates are needed in the bathroom, caulking coming off and some water stains but it was clean. The lobby is huge with lots of tv's so you can watch what you want when sitting. The day we checked out and about 30min before check out the power went out. I happened to have just been at the elevator with all my stuff. Thank goodness I was not on it when the power went out. We were on the 2nd floor so just lugged the stuff down. No biggie. The breakfast is the same as all the others like Hampton and Best Western. Definitely recommend the stay. read more

This review is for June 2024. Glad that this place is renovated. Saw photos and other previous reviews and the hotel needed a lot work. In May 2024, I called the hotel to make sure that the hotel is fully renovated and the staff said that it just finished renovating. Thank goodness. Otherwise, we would not stay here. The front desk staff and the staff at the breakfast area were very nice. Studio room was spacious, pretty clean and modern. Only thing is that the decor is kind of plain and simple. A lot of closet and storage space. Love the fact that there's a kitchen in the room which also includes a full size refrigerator. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The swimming pool is real small and it's located right in front of the front entrance of the hotel. There's no privacy so we did not use the pool. The complimentary breakfast food was ok but at least there's complimentary breakfast. We love staying at hotels that provides complimentary breakfast. There's scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, oatmeal, bread, bagels, juices, muffins, yogurt, coffee, tea, etc. Wished the waffle batter has better flavor. It was too plain tasting. The dining area is kind of small but adequate because it wasn't crowded the time we were there. There's a toaster and waffle iron. If we're in the Cal Expo area, we would stay here again. Hope the hotel will keep up with the cleanliness and maintain the hotel well. read more

Staff wasn't particularly accommodating and barely spoke to me, forgetting about the points v amenity question, the hours for bfast, mobile key etc. Room was nice enough but it was expensive for the PM. Couldn't get answered whether there was a shuttle to airport and if so the hours of operation. Maybe they need more training/management. read more

Really nice place to stay in the Sacramento airport area. I was in the area for a holiday party at a friend's house and wanted a place to stay the night. The room with two queen beds was great for three people - and having the kitchenette was really helpful. I thought everything looked really new and well kept up. Also the breakfast was really hearty, enough to really have a real meal and not just a cup of coffee and a danish. I'd definitely stay here again in the future. read more

Everything was fine--just your average hotel near the airport--until we left, and I realized I'd forgotten my makeup bag. When I went back for it, everything was still there except for my large bottle of Gucci perfume. Comment for the Manager: I'm disappointed that something like this could happen. Clean rooms, nice and quiet. Only complaint is that for the price paid I expected more convenience. Had to go get many items that should have been available to me like: toilet paper, and new towels. Also went down for breakfast at 6a and was told I couldn't make a waffle til 7a. The iron was hot but couldn't be used til 7 and there was sausage sitting out. That means it's sitting in a warmer for an hour. Definitely didn't meet my expectations for the price that was paid to stay here. read more

This is my 3rd visit here at towneplace as a Marriott member and I can say, it was my worst experience. The location is perfect but the overall stay was mediocre for one night at $230. I "checked in" a day before hoping to receive my mobile key the following day without having to interact with guest services and to my surprise my mobile key was never sent to me and I had to check in at the desk upon arrival. No biggie right but once I received my room it was dirty! I'm not picky by far but for $230 the ambiance was giving "motel 6 we leave the light on" ... they ended up switching my room and it was a tad bit cleaner but I was still disappointed. Just spent four nights there. Disappointing. They offer servicing the room every other day. We had none. Granted our do not disturb sign was out until 10 am or so but that's no excuse. No trash collection, no fresh towels. This was even after asking at the front desk. Our suite had all the amenities but not clean. The broiler pan in the oven was dirty. The bathroom floor was filthy. very loud neighbors late into the night and the smell f pot was overwhelming in the hall and even our room! Attracts a questionable clientele. I've stayed at this location a few times. I really enjoy it. Great food option near by. Right off the freeway. Oh and they started breakfast, well kinda.. The breakfast lady was so kind and attentive to my toddler son and I. She said to come on down and sit to eat. I wasn't planning on it but I said Okay sure. I went upstairs to get my toddler from his dad. When I came back down she had already heated up a breakfast sandwich for us. It's the simple things. That ment a lot to me. She put on cartoons. I don't usually let him watch TV but we enjoyed ourselves. The front desk and housekeeping are nice and genuine. They talk to my toddler as he's running out the door without me. New location conveniently located near shops and eateries. I lived nearby so I saw everything during the constructions process from start to finish. The room was clean and staff was very friendly. My fiance and I booked a last minute room here after our luggage was lost flying in to Sacramento. Seeing as we live 2+ hours away we opted to stay overnight and wait for the luggage to arrive the following morning rather than have it delivered. Meika at the front desk was absolutely OUTSTANDING. She was professional, polite and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable after hearing of our travel woes. We had to call her back when there was an issue with our TV remote and she attended to the matter promptly and with a smile on her (masked) face. I honestly cannot say enough good things about her. The hotel itself was spotless, had good snack/wine/beer options in the snack bar area at check in, and was reasonably priced. We will definitely be booking here again in the future for airport needs. read more

Everyone is nice and helpful... except if you were looking forward to getting the free EV charging for your EV or plug in hybrid ready for the next day. Two consecutive nights, they made no effort to clear the spaces. ChargePoint has been notified. If we can't have access to the free chargers, we have many other choices to stay in the area for a lower rate and avoid this inconvenience. read more

Checked into two different rooms . I don't know if you guys have a housekeeping management or supervisor someone who checks the rooms to make sure their cleaned and ready to put out after the house keepers clean but we checked into two rooms that both look like they weren't inspected yet. One room had hairs on the pillows and bed like they were slept in and used already . The next room look like someone had just laid in the bed and left. The drawers were open in the room. For a Marriott property rooms should be inspected before putting it out to the floor for availability. The first floor the bottom on the walls looks like they're getting renovated but that's a 2-3 years old hotel. Looks as if there wasn't enough funds to finish the hotel. Your shower doors do not close all that way so that's going to cause mold from the leak of water getting through. Which already started in the room we were in. I needed to go to Sacramento during COVID for a training in downtown. I ended up choosing this hotel over the hotels in downtown considering majority of the hotels in downtown had poor reviews. This particular hotel didn't offer airport shuttle, however, I called them ahead of flying out and they referred me to use a contracted taxi where the cost would be covered. I called the taxi prior to flying to give them a heads up. I then called them as soon as I arrived and they picked me up within minutes. The driver took me to the hotel and the hotel paid for it! The hotel was clean and had a new home smell. Breakfast was bagged with an orange, granola bar and water. Overall, I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. It's only about 10 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from downtown. There are restaurants across the street. I would recommend this hotel! read more

Hotel is new but that comes at a cost. No cameras, no theft detergent aside from a security guard that walks out here and there. My vehicle was broken into and hotel refuses to cover any costs. Wasn't made aware of the "Not responsible for damage to vehicles" policy upon my check-in. Regardless of that, I was told to park in "lighted areas" to prevent a break-in but coincidentally that's where my car was broken into. Few days prior to my break-in, my friends Toyota Prius was vandalized which left him with over 2,000$ worth of damage. This hotel has amazing staff but a worthless policy and no care towards guests vehicles. As I said earlier, no cameras. You pay a high premium to stay the night but have to worry about your vehicle being vandalized. read more

Super impressed with this place. Wasn't expecting much as it was only 2 star, but it feels more like an extended stay with all the amenities- see below. Hotel feels very clean and new as of June 18, 2021. Front staff are very accommodating. Flew in when the shuttle was not going so they reimburse my taxi fare from the airport! If I known I would get a full set of kitchen with all the bells and whistles; would have gone to supermarket before coming lol. Would recommend staying. FYI I usually don't use the gym or pool, so my review is based on the room accommodations. read more

Awesome hotel! Destini was very nice and accommodating. This room was so clean. The beds are so comfortable. We needed a room with a walk-in shower and Destini and the head of housekeeping made that happen. Nice size TV with streaming features. The water pressure in the shower was a little weak, but I think it's due to the drought? At least I hope so. Plan on spending more time than usual in the showers. Rain Water head. Also, be careful when you use the faucet in the bathroom. If you lift it up too fast and hard it hits the mirror. Eventually, it's going to crack. This is the only poor design I saw. Just an FYI. The staff is very friendly & the room is very neat & clean. The only reason for the two stars is the fact that my BMW was broken into on the 21st of October, 2020 between 6:30 and 6:45 AM. On that day, there was another Mercedes Benz broken into as well. Nothing was of value in my car & unfortunately there are no cameras in the parking lot of this building. I had to go through my insurance and pay the deductible. The staff did mention that they can speak with their insurance company and see if they can work something out, "but they will most likely say no". Security is really bad here, & what makes it worse is I am 8 months pregnant and had a prenatal appointment that day which I had to miss because of this situation. We actually have 2 BMW's and have mentioned to the staff that we will be parking in EV spots if the closest parking spots to the building are all taken. I would have no issues parking a little ways from the building, but of course, my husband and I don't want door dings on our cars. It doesn't make any sense for such a nice place to have such bad security! read more

I had reservations about a month prior to my visit. Received confirmation. I go to check in at almost 10pm that night with my husband and kids. They then tell me, that my room was not available because they overbooked. They said that they will comp us rooms and made reservations at an old Doubletree about 25 miles further north. This was not acceptable. I asked why did they not call us to notify or confirm we were coming. They never answered directly, but said that they were going to. It's already 10pm by this time. When were they planning to call me? The other hotel was very old and outdated, bathroom toilet bowl had brown rings and marks, not to mention the handle was coming apart and no breakfast.
